  1. Hi scudney, I messaged ACLex, as suggested, back in February this year, but I didnt receive a responce. Do you have any other contacts/places I could obtain an update disc from ? In addition, do you know whether the maps just get updated, or does the functionality and interface update to ?? Personally, I hate that you have to be stationary in the car to change address details, hate that you have to always accept the warning notification message once the screen pop's up, and HATE that there are no postcode searches with the version I have!! You help would be appreciated
  2. Much appreciated matt-c and jomo on your replies - Im going to look in to this further over the next couple of weeks. Im also waiting on a couple of quotes, as I do like the Parrot MKI-9200 device, so once I have them, I will consider my options. Regards for now
  3. Thanks for the video matt-c. Just a quick one... in the video, the car setup did not have a sat nav installed. However, I do have this fitted, so is there a different procedures when removing this, or does the same apply by pulling this unit towards you and up to get this out and get to the bolts ? Thanks and Regards
  4. Hi 555Ltd, Thank you very much for your reply. With regards to the cost, how much will I be looking at approximately, as I need to factor in the cost of getting to and from Sheffield on top too. If its reasonable, when are you free to do it? Im unfortunately only available on weekends. Hear from you soon mate
  5. Hi guys, Thanks for all the replies. jomo, the spoiler I have is more like the second picture you posted. I will provide pictures in due course. Im a complete novice at all this, so is anyone willing to help a poor lost soul to get this fixed ? Im willing to travel to whereever you guys are, and offer reasonable labour costs. Alternitively, although I paid for and sourced for the whole kit (torsion bars and brackets) at a dismantlers, im cosidering installing gas struts to open up the boot. After looking at other peoples installations online, it doesnt look too bad to install myself (fingers crossed)... Im just left with a fairly new peice of boot kit, which I would then need to get rid off or give away!
  6. In addition jomo, You stated that it takes 10-15 mins to fit, could you advise how to take the entire centre console out ? Sorry about all the questions.... Im a novice at all this, and dont want the risk of damaging anything in the car! Thanks in advance.
  7. Hi scudney, Thanks for the advise above. Ill see if I can locate ACLex, and PM him with my requirements. Thanks and Regards
  8. Hi jomo, Thanks for the great advise above! Ill give themgrom audio a bell tonight or in the morning to get further information from them. Thanks once again.
  9. Hi all, I was wanting to know if anyone knows where I can obtain an update disc to the original Lexus IS200 Sat Nav ? The most up-to-date version I have is 2003/2004, and wanted to know if an original can be obtained at a resonable price ? In addition, is this easy to update ? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
  10. Hi all, I am a keen MP3 listener, and wanted to connect my iPod Touch (4 Generation) and have access to an AUX and USB inputs too. I have a Lexus IS200 SE (05 Plate) with the original Sat Nav, and wanting to know if there are any interface devices out there that can be installed in to the original head unit - I quite like unit that came with the car and didn’t want to install a new double din head unit, I also love the original Sat Nav that came with it too. I was looking in to purchasing the Parrot mki9200 device professionally: http://www.parrot.com/uk/products/hands-free-car-kits/parrot-mki9200 But, I have been advised by a reliable source who contacted Autoleads and a few other reputable companies, that due to the Sat Nav in the car, there are no SOT cables that are available for a Lexus with a Sat Nav, but plenty available for the Lexus head unit without the sat nav on the IS200. So its either having sat nav or losing the functionality of it, which I dont want as I love the GPS system. I am also happy not to have the Parrott kit, and to replace this with an interface that can support iPod, USB and AUX connectivity (which sits behind the head unit/ behind/side of the glove box) such as 'XCarLink' and to use the original head units buttons to access the playlists and switch between the songs, but again, I was advised that I would lose the functionality of the CD player in the car. Could anyone please advise if this can be possible or if anyone has managed to get by this problem that I am facing, and provide places/parts that I require to fit this in to my car? Thanks and Regards
  11. Hi all, I am very new to this forum (joined today), and was seeking advice from anyone. I have a Lexus IS200 SE (05 Plate) where the boot does not fully open when the button on the key is pressed. Once pressed, it clicks open and that’s it. I then have to hold it up (or prop it on my shoulder) to access the contents of the boot... Not great! I have asked the main dealers and the cost to repair this is expensive to say the least, just under £400 (which does not include the paint work). It has been advised that I require torsion bars and brackets. However, I have managed to obtain the whole item from a local car dismantler yesterday evening at a fraction of the cost, but the only issue now is to fit it in. I believe that this can only be done by taking out the back seats (which are full leathers), take out the parcel shelf, remove the centre pillars, and then I’ll have access to the boot space?!? What I am asking for is; if anyone has a step-by-step guide (possibly with screenshots and/or a video guide) so I can attempt to do this myself. I know this is a lot to ask for, but a guide would be hugely appreciated to get my boot crisis resolved. I look forward to your responses.
