  1. I got the Woodford one too. I called for wheels for my GS but @400 I thought I would get it from a web site.
  2. Thanks for that, I sincerely wish you had seen my post months ago but it is good to know both the site and the company. I shall only recommend the guys I am using now once I ha've got my wheels back.
  3. My car had done 157. I bought it a year ago and have had it serviced with Lexus since then....hence why I am miffed. I found a specialist engineering firm to rebuild the engine because it is either that or no wheels. Parts are impossible to source in the UK if you have to do camshaft and fiddly bits. I get the car back next week. Will be able to offer a reference then.
  4. Mine snapped and broke the engine two months ago, see thread. Cost from Lexus _ 16800+VAT. Third party cost, 5k. Advice? Get it sorted but join my argument that there is a design issue as these are not serviceable parts. There is no service interval. Lexus should be looking at this, I suspect it shall become a growing and expensive issue for 450H owners.
  5. That is a good point Colin, it would be interesting to quantify the number of failures they have on these chains.
  6. Thanks Hayne, I have had a chat with a mech friend and fitting a new one is one thing but he was concerned about registering the engine with the electronic systems...but I have some work to do to fix this but I am heartened by your view. Thank you.
  7. I have had a nightmare week with Lexus. Was out last Wednesday everything running fine. Suddenly the petrol engine cut out so I parked up and tried to restart. Horrid spluttering and the car turned for about 10 secs then cut out. Called RAC. 2 sensors per cam reporting faults so got the car taken to Lexus. ONE WEEK LATER, today, they tell me the timing chain has gone and I need a new engine. 16.5K + VAT. WHAAAAAT? Car is 2006 450h 150K. No warning apart from last service where they said they say oil spots on the housing, had it a year and been servicing with Lexus under service plan. Guys I need your help PLEASE.

  9. I have the same thing happen. Mine is about 5% of the time...she's got a soul this one
  10. Thanks Simon. I have had it checked and again. Even went when the warning was on and Lexus said the battery pack was fine. When I start it these days, I give it some welly so the engine runs for a bit before we move off. Seems to work in those instances....
  11. Thanks. Mine didn't like neutral. Think I remember someone saying that it starts it in a diagnostic. So my answer is to put the car in reverse and switch off normally. The radio stays on but the engine switches off.
  12. Thanks John but he was more canny than I . It was sold as seen but I bear no qualms at all. It is a premium car and quite simply...it's worth the repair bill.
  13. I also too my 450h for its first service since I got it two months ago. Advisory on the front shocks 1072, water pump soon, six bills and rear brakes with calipers another 6. Premium car yes, lack of canny? NO!
  14. I might be wrong but if you hit the switch with the car still in gear, the engine goes off but the radio stays on...stumbled across this today. Anyone confirm?
