  1. I believe Osram do some sort of 'Cool Blue' HID bulbs now that Mercedes fit as standard but I think even these are only 5000K http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OSRAM-XENARC-COOL-BLUE-INTENSE-D4S-XENON-HID-CAR-BULB-SINGLE-/251688775784?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a99d1f068
  2. As Ishaq said I'm pretty sure 10000k will be purple and not white....
  3. Usually anything I have had with a customs charge etc will go to the sorting office where you go and collect it and make the payment (at least that's what I think I remember!).
  4. I get around 24-26 mpg out of mine around town. On a run though it's great and I get 35-40 mpg. Not bad for a 2.5 V6 auto! :D
  5. You could try asking the question to Jamie McWhir from Michelin who is currently answering tyre related questions for the club: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/94933-a-question-about-performance-tyres-ask-the-michelin-expert/ Obviously he would recommend something from the Michelin range but may be worth getting his thoughts as he is very knowledgeable on anything tyre related?
  6. Thanks Jamie, I thought that may be the case although I didn't realise it was the law in some countries. I've heard about winter tyres being required in some European countries though.
  7. That makes sense so it's still worth sticking with the "newer model" then. To be honest, that's how I have the car set up now it seems to drive well. I've bought used cars in the past that have had one odd tyre on (a different brand to the rest) and I've always thought that it never feels right. I take it that along with fitting new tyre to the rear as you recommend that it's always worth having the axle set matching as a minimum?
  8. My bulbs definitely changed colour slightly towards the end. I had one changed and they were slightly different. The other bulb went only about 2 weeks later though so had that one changed and they are now both the same again :)
  9. Hi Jamie, I always seem to end up buying tyres in axle pairs, although I tend to like having a matching set all round as I always feel that a car drives better with matching tyres all round. However, sometimes I find that when I come to buy a pair (still lots of life left in the other pair) that model I have been using has been discontinued and replaced with a newer model that has a slightly different tread pattern. My question is.... Is it still a good plan to stick with the newer model and then upgrade the other pair once they are worn out? Am I going to notice much difference in performance by having the newer/older version of the same tyre brand and model on different axles? Thanks
  10. Same colour combination as mine except I have cream carpets! Very nice! :)
  11. I tried my Nexus 5 in the charging tray at the Lexus NX event my local dealer put on the other day. It was a good fit for the Nexus 5 but I must say there didn't seem much room for a bigger phone than that. There was a little space around it but not much. It did work well though, took a few seconds to kick in but apparently the magnet automatically moves around to find the charging point on any compatible phone. Pretty cool!
  12. I think this is all sorted now. I noticed I couldn't either but it seems to have been rectified :)
  13. Impressive stuff! Will give this a go next time I drive somewhere that far!
  14. The Mark Levinson system would have been the Lexus equivalent to the Bang and Olufsen system you had before but I think that only comes as standard on the premier IS300H? I have the ML system in my MK2 IS with 14 speaker and surround sound which I think sounds excellent. Having said that I've been in a friend's MK2 IS that had only the standard system and I didn't think it was too bad?
  15. Hi Scott welcome to LOC :)
  16. Nope you can remove your current disc. Already removed mine for a little extra screen real estate! :)
  17. Nice write up Adam. Always good to hear about dealership experiences good and bad! :)
  18. Mine seem to get nice and warm. Perhaps your heated element needs replacing?
  19. Hmm thanks guys I think I will take a look at the Lexus ones if that's what is already on my car (I think I have those) as I quite like the look of them. I have had PIAA silicone blades on a previous car and they were good too but they were the old style blades.
