  1. I was wondering that! I have connected jump leads to it but may still not be enough to power everything up. My main car is still under warranty so I’ll see what cover I’ve got if not my sons in the AA, many thanks.
  2. Hi guys, looking for some help/advice , my 1996 Ls 400 has been standing for approx 5 months, was looking to take it for a long overdue run last week, battery obviously flat so I jump started it from a jump start machine, started on the button straight away but have no electrics ie no dash lights indicators, wipers, can’t move it due to no power to gearbox inhibitor switch, charged battery for 24 hrs in case it was completely duff battery and there just wasn’t enough to power everything up I’m now thinking maybe a fuse or relay or could it be something more serious, everything was fine when I parked it up back in the summer, any help would be hugely appreciated. Thanks.
  3. Not my plate tom!! The rcf on autotrader. is being sold by a good friend of mine, he brought the plate a good while before he was in a position to purchase the rcf! he was set on the m4 but was blown away when I got my ls460 and hasn’t looked back, seemed such a shame to see the plate go to wast so I borrowed it off him for the best part of a year, he has a 90 mile a day commute so has racked up above average miles but it’s a stunning very well cared for rcf that has no evidence cosmetically of the miles it’s done.
  4. Have you got the adaptive cruise? I find I get less mpg on cruise due to the fact when the car has to slow down it then seems to resume up to the set speed as quickly as poss i.e. Dropping down gears and exelarating hard! I usuely get approx 30 mpg on a run, ( without cruise)I never seem to look at mpg around London, i think that's because I'm to scared lol but 12 doesn't really seem that unrealistic. Sounds silly but like someone else has mentioned have you reset everything ? i.e. Mpg.
  5. Didn't even think about that, do you know how difficult that would be to do? Cars booked into Lexus tomorrow for service so if fault not covered by warranty I willl ask them to disconnect, providing it's not a big job. Thanks!!
  6. Well after 3 years trouble free motoring in this fantastic car I have finally developed a minor problem, every time I flash my lights the headlight washers go off which can be quite annoying when you have a just cleaned the car and the bonnet and windscreen get covered in water, any other owners had this problem ? Cars booked into Lexus for a service next week but the guy I booked with sounded quiet sceptical as this being covered by my extended Lexus warranty. Thanks!!
  7. Borrowed my mums rx 300 (2006) at the weekend , needed to transport some stuff from London to Devon and there was no way it was fitting in my ls 460, noticed straight away on motorway a real bad brake judder/pulsating as soon as I braked over 50 mph, my first thought was warped disks or disk which I planned on changing this weekend, do you guys think this is the most obvious or maybe something different ie suspension bushes etc, many thanks!!
  8. It always puts a smile on my face to hear the old V8 roar into life every time I start my old girl. but after that that there's nothing like wafting around around in complete silence in my ls 400. The only down side is I've lost count of the amount people I've nearly ran over that step out in front of me lol.
  9. Worded very professionally, and very Dealer like if you ask me. I remember this car being up for sale a couple of months back!!
  10. My best mates looking to buy an rcf very soon, the prices really do vary depending on which dealership you go to. in January when they first arrived in UK they were 60k upwards Lexus Nottingham have currently got one for 51k (brand new) fully loaded Mark levinson etc. he's constantly talking to Lexus and they've just thrown a spanner in the works by telling him there's a twin turbo version coming out next year and that the current rcf is only the Very beginning,
  11. With all respect I think it dates the car for some reason and looks slightly tacky, but like has been said before perhaps it's an age thing, I think your car would look stunning with the original alloys. At the end of the day it's not about what anyone else thinks it's about what you like. And it's all about personal choice!! Its an amazing car regardless. Enjoy!!
