  1. Ok, thanks. It could well be the gearbox oil. I've never checked this before.
  2. Hi, My 2003 Sportcross has just developed a chirping noise coming from the engine when driving. I can't isolate exactly where its coming from though. The noise stops when I put the clutch is down. The car's performance is not affected at all, but I'm not sure what damage I'm likely to do driving with this noise. Has anyone had this before?
  3. On mine both buttons slide inward and when they've slid all the way, you should be able to basically lift it out.
  4. I just swapped from studded winter tyres (i live in Sweden) to Conti's so I expected to feel a bit less grip and they don't disappoint in that regard. I only got them cause the tyre place had an offer on that made them cheaper than Toyos. Never mind, according to most reviews I've read they should wear out soon :)
  5. Agree, vredsteins are good, had the sportracs before. I also rate Toyo highly too. The Proxes CF2 are good. I'm running Conti Prem contact 5s at the moment. New on and I don't think that much of them.
  6. Thanks Ivan, I was actually after the handbook that comes with the vehicle, although the repair manual is really useful too. Cheers.
  7. Hi, Does anyone have a pdf of the owners manual for a 2003 IS200. Thanks Martin
  8. Thanks for the tip Dave. Fortunately the chips aren't too bad, but i've heard other IS owners have the same problem with replacements.
  9. Loving the new car so far. Light years faster than my previous v40 tractor. Just need to sort out a couple of windscreen chips, chips in the bonnet paint work and unstick a rear passenger window that doesn't want to open.
  10. I got the car yesterday after the dealer MOT'd it for us. I now understand what the fuss is about. Tony, you're right, the dog seemed at home. He's used to an estate so i thought he might be a bit unsettled, but he seemed at home. It might be because i told him a Lexus loving giant airdale was gonna come round and have words otherwise. Janet, good to hear someone else has gone out car shopping with the purest of intentions and returned with an IS. I swear we were gonna buy a passat, honestly ;) And your right VW/volvo/etc could put you to sleep in comparison.
  11. Thanks for the welcome comments guys. Ian, I've already told the dog if he learns to read maps and ask directions he can sit up front with me.
  12. Hi folks Me and my girlfriend had been looking for a practical, safe family car and I'm still not quite sure what happened, but on Thursday we went out to look at cars and came back with a IS200 Sportcross! We had a test drive and all sense of practicality flew out the window. Ah well, the dog will just have to lose some weight and I think my two year old seemed quite comfy in the sports seats. Got lots of useful information from here already and no doubt be using this forum quite a lot in the future. Cheers Martin
