  1. I have searched for a previous thread on this but can't find one... My Lexus had an airbag on the rear strut fail, leaving the rear on the ground. I managed to source a replacement strut second hand (another story....) but even with the strut in place the compressor won't kick in and pump the car back up. The front of the car is at the normal level. The compressor can be triggered manually at the relay, and the rear can be pumped up by manually stimulating the valves in the system. This rules out compressor failure. The compressor still won't kick in despite this The dashboard displays the 'Height High' warning at start up (it did this when the air bag failed) even driving it (having manually filled the system with air) does not cause it to reset. Have also tried to get the system to reset by lifting the car off the ground. Fairly sure its not the height sensors as these have been fixed a few weeks ago, and look OK. My question therefore is this - is there some form of fuse or reset that needs to be done to get the air suspension to register where it is, and start to pump normally again? Help gratefully received.
  2. I use a cheap cassette tape adaptor with a headphone jack on the end. Not elegant but you can hide the wire in the trim and feed into the storage box between the two sets, which also has power.
  3. Mine (52 plate) had similar symptoms after only 70,000 miles due to contamination in the gear box fluid. Was told by a mechanically minded friend that this might be due to a previous replacement of radiator after a stone went through it - he said the two systems were apparently connected (seems odd to be but I ain't a mechanic). Long story short I ignored it for a while and then needed a new gear box and torque convertor as it failed totally...
  4. Got a similar issue to the OP and was hoping for some help with the specific parts required. I am not mechanically minded, so please go easy on me! Rear passenger side air suspension shock has collapsed (the air part has split) Lexus want £700 for the replacement and as the other one looks quite worn too I am not sure (I have also had problems with the ride height sensor which have been cured by cleaning them, so reluctant to spend loads on the car). I have read the posts above, and had a look at various web sites but am still confused as to what parts I need to consider if looking to replace the rear shocks with standard, non-air, ones. Can anyone help please with a complete list of parts needed? Thanks
