  1. Hi Doog, Been on hols so couldn't comment but Great choice done a few thousand in mine now and just cant stop smiling, if you cruise at 60 in eco you can get a staggering 50mpg but then why would you buy the 200T and have it in ECO? LOL, enjoy :)
  2. Hi I am confused:) on the customer portal the nav update is free or have I missed something? ....which I probably have? :)
  3. Thought I would share this piccy fro Goodwood festival of Speed
  4. I've had my 200t for a week now and had a 500 mile round trip to Blackburn so I had a play with the three driving modes to see what the consumption was like. Here are the results ECO mode Driving inside lane M6 at 60 mph (sorry that's not normal but was early so driving slow) but I got around 50mpg! at 70-80 that dropped to 42/44 after Reset Normal mode Just driving normally 70-80 getting about 37/38mpg varied as I was in traffic Sport mode well its fun but consumption does get hit 26 mpg ish
  5. Hiya, Sorry me again, on my IS250 I replaced most of the bulbs with LED's which really improved the quality of light especially the mirror and doors. Does anyone have a full bulb list or knows where I can get a kit for the 200t or can I assume that they must be the same as the IS300? Col
  6. @capese21 thanks that's where I was looking both better than grey :)
  7. I don't disagree but there is a carbon fibre look alike which I think may look better, especially as the interior has carbon fibre look alike Col
  8. Thanks guys, is it easy to take off and what is underneath i.e. clips or is it just stuck on
  9. Hi Well it arrived :) and I love it! but would have like to replace the grey bumper protector sometime? so anyone know where I can get a bumper protector that's not grey? Carbon fibre or metal would be nice? tried searching for one but looks like they don't exists :( Col
  10. Hi Guys, Great forum and comment, Well I was going to go away from Lexus having had in order. An IS200, IS300, IS250, IS250 Sport, then an IS250F Sport, because I didn't really like the drive of the hybrid, then I drove the 200T WOW! that changed my mind. I have only had two test drives but it is much more powerful than the 250 and handles far better, seem Lexus have the Centre of Gravity spot on? Anyway loved it so much... Yes you guessed it Lexus number 6 arrives on Friday IS200T FSport in White :) will let you know how I get on Col
  11. Hi, Sorry cant help you with the oil thing but if you want yo can stop your doors automatically locking, Its explained in your manual in section 1-2 around page 48 (but thats the manual for the auto so may not be exactly the same) the option for the auto are you can turn it off Change it so it locks them when you take it out of park and Unlocks when put into park or all doors are unlocked when the drivers door is opened within 10 secs of turning engine off Col
  12. Hi, Sorted out the Hyjack mode, you can turn it off if you wish but it actually has two modes one is speed set the other is when park is selected which is the one I have just changed it to. Now when I take it out of park the doors lock but when I put it in park the doors unlock. Will take some piccies when the sun comes out Col
  13. Hi all, As Promised an update on the Sport Auto: It Exists! Well I picked it up a couple of hours ago and I am still grinning, cus its just georgeous (in my opinion) Spec Wise versus my old SE-L Auto Interior Same as SE-L except..... Not Leather seats but better sides on seat that hold you in better, slightly smaller headrests giving better visibility from back. No cooled seats heated only but then again no tiny holes for those little white bits of fluff to get stuck in Lexus have scolloped the front seats at the back and changed the map holder thingy, which has really increased the leg room in the back my son who is normally in the back of the SE-L says its a great improvement. Its a bit difficult to see in the Piccies below (old one first) but the seat goes in further than it did before hardly noticable but make a big difference. No Wood but then it is a sport No lit scuff plates Sports pedals and foot rest in stainless Car auto locks when you get above 5 Mph, Nice touch for stopping Hyjackers but I live in Dorset! probably look in the manual and swithch it off If I can Handling Same as SE-L except.... The ride is slighly harder due to the lower profile tyres which are in fact 10mm wider than on the SE-L (255 not 245) Whilst its really difficult to tell since this is new and my SE-L had 47K on the clock, the sports suspension seems to have less roll when cornering and generally feels better, but the ride is harder (thats lexus harder) which is still luxurious. The wheels are 18" and not as shown in most showrooms where they are silver they are in fact more gun metal in colour Piccies below again not easy to see but on the car much nicer Other than that its just about the same anyway to be honest and dont take this personal I have got better things than write this ...................and its currently sat on the drive :D if you have any other questions more than happy to oblige or if I discover anything else I will add to my post see ye Col
  14. Yep if you sit in the car and press lock it does, its the only possible way it could of happened ie pressing the key inside the car. Supporting my theory is that when I tried pressing the black button on the doorhandle (hey I was trying everything) it beeped which suggests it knew the key was in the car. There is however another possibility..... which is a bit scary, I am due to trade it in in the next few weeks for a new one... perhaps it knew and was trying to teach me a lesson perhaps I will walk everywhere for the next three weeks... Col
  15. Hi all Thought I would share a recent experience with you, and whilst I know you cant lock the keys in the car...I did. I was in Caernarfon some 300 miles from home, left the hotel opened up the lexus by duly touching the drivers door handle, then opened the rear door drivers side, hung up my suit jacket with keys in pocket and shut the door. A few minutes later I went back to the car and it was locked, :tsktsk: I dont know how cus I've tried it since and I cant make it do it..all I can guess is that my suit got squeezed between the door and rear seat and it accidently pressed the lock button... a complete fluke. Anyway thats just the start.. The RAC arrived and after about an hour and a half managed to get the bonnet open, after a further hour gave up looking for the blue and red wire (starts the ignition evidently) during this time lots of calls to RAC technical. After another two hours of trying every trick the chap knew he eventually gave up and said we would have to break the rear quarterlight.. 20 or so wacks with a lump hammer and punch....it wouldn't break. He advised me to break any other window would cause serious damage to door/inner panel so it would have to be recovered to a dealer. However where the car was in the garage meant it would need to be jacked up on dollies first then manouvered out before they could load it on a vehicle, its now about 14:00 in the afternoon and he informs me that they couldn't do it today.. :tsktsk: I had a really important meeting the foolowing day in Banbury so I sent him on his way disgruntled since he had never ever failed before, I phoned the wife and got the spare set couriered to me (240 bloomin quid) they arrived at 10:00 (rain and accidents slowed down their arrival) so I eventiually left and got to my hotel at 02:30 in the morning. :duh: So ... as the Lexus confucius says "Lexus Locking and Security is fool proof and ... only a fool would put his keys in his jacket pocket and hang it up!" Hope you all found that amusing I do now but not at the time Col
  16. Hi, Sorry I cant answer that yet since its not due for about another 4 weeks but I promise I will update you when it arrives. I will also do an instant update on the differences between the SEL and the Sport cus I will be getting out of one and into the other so it should be a reasonable comparison certainly in terms of handling and overall 'feel' Colin Will there be any reason to feel a difference then? Not aware of any differences except cosmetic...bigger wheels, alloy pedal set and no leather etc. Thought the suspension was the same? Hi Tango, I had assumed that the Sport Auto would have the Sports Suspension a well as 18's I read about this somewhere but cant remember where it may just apply to the 350 which I know has an option for sports suspension and also has a limited slip diff. I may be wrong and usually am ................according to the wife :D Col Found it, on the downlodable spec on the Lexus.co.uk website it says that the Sport is fitted with 'sport suspension' which will surely effect handling. Col

  19. Mine are same as Sagitars Tyres front Dunlop SP Sport Maxx-A 225/45 R17 95W 35psi Tyres rear Dunlop SP Sport Maxx-A 245/45 R17 95W 38psi And funnily enough I could't buy them any cheaper than from the dealer, tried the internet, black circles etc but couldnt beat the dealers offer
  20. Hi, I didn't know it was an option existed, I just chanced a remark at the dealers that I would like the Sport but "its a shame it doesnt have an auto box" when They told me that the combination had just been released, evidently it had been on the cards for some time jus no-one knew exactly when it was going to be. Pricing..before Haggling...is the price of the Sport plus the price of the Auto box (from the SEL spc) Like a muppet I didn't ask about diff ratios but I do know that the auto box is exactly the same, so It should perform the same as the SEL Let you know what its like when I get it Col
  21. hi all Well its two years now since I bought my first 250 SE-L so it was off down the dealer to see what my options were.. I really wanted the Sports suspension but wanted an Auto cus I do loads of miles on motorways and thought that it wasn't an option, well I was wrong you can have the Sport with its slightly lowered suspension 18" alloys and an Auto box, plus its almost the same spec as the SE-L minus the wood trim and full leather however the alternative suede looks good and is less slippery and probably better in the summer. And its over a grand cheaper. So I just couldnt say no cant wait should be here in 5 weeks.
  22. Hi I use AutoGlym Products all the time, I have been to their factory and seen the effort they put into Quality control and testing on various finishes, I have never had any problems with any of their products and certainly not the resin finish. One word of warning dont use a wheel cleaner since many are acidic and can erode away the lacquer and then the erosion starts, I know its a pain but the best way to keep those wheels clean is regular washing with soapy water. Col
  23. Sorry not sure I, but probably not since the AFS system makes the lights point into the corner which is the main reason why there is no need to specifically light up the left . But I thought that if you had Xenon/Bi xenon lights the AFS was standard anyway? again not sure, sorry I cant be more helpful Colin
  24. Hi all, I know this has been discussed before but so far no categorical statement but after some phoning to Lexus Technical by Poole Lexus service I have had assurance that you do not need deflectors. In fact they dont sell them nor does any manufacturer make them, evidently the lights do not kick up to the left and only emit a very flat beam which when used in conjunction with the Intelligent Adaptive Front-lighting System (i-AFS) is perfectly legal in europe. Looking forward to showing the Germans a serious competitor to their mercs and beamers Col
