  1. I had a squeek coming from rear suspension when i went over speed humps; i thought it was a dried out bush. Under the extended warranty Lexus Reading changed the entire suspension arms and bushes! Cost £1250 to me cost £0 Yes, i believe the warranty is justified. If only for peace of mind as all Lexus spare parts are expensive and so are the labour rates
  2. Sounds like a trip to an auto electrician. Or a lexus main dealer who can plug his diagnosis gizmo into the socket under the dash and chk the fault codes
  3. I too would chk the shims, put some copper grease on them as well you say the pads are ok but pull them out and chk that the pad fixings arent prone; unfortunately some fake pads are on the open market and these wear a lot quicker
  4. I just bought the 2yr extended warranty for my RX450h (air susp) it cost £995 over 10months. it is fully inclusive policy and to be fair i have a service plan as well. I had my vehicle serviced this week I had noticed a slight creaking from rear suspension over speed humps etc, mentioned this to the service desk and hey have agreed to change the rear suspension arms and bushes under warranty, am I glad I have it, hell yes, the cost of the suspension is over £1200, So in my humble opinion, whilst my RX has been extremely reliable, its good that the reputation of Lexus as a brand for reliability is maintained by main dealers, who will not quibble over what other less reliable brands may just sparay a can of WD-40 at
  5. My 450h has DAB and its really good although there are some areas you still cant get reception. You can tell if the model you are looking at has it. The aeriel is on the inside of the screen top left handside comes with a small receiver unit attached. Problems, none major although ride unsettled by potholed roads! Mine has air susp supposedly better than springs. 2010 ver
  6. If its the same as my 450h You have to be in Park, with the handbrake on. Then it works fine! And you get the benefit of full surround sound.
  7. Its to lock out the gear shift when the car is jacked for towing, its not for the parking sensors, that switch is on the multifunction on the steering wheel
  8. Thanks for that but i now find out that the camber cannot be adjusted on the rear wheels My only option it seems ia to try tyres with a 105 loading as opposed to the 101 OEM loading, the common thought is that the batteries are adding to much weight over the rear wheels, although the torque generated may alkso be a factor, neither of which help as the wheels seem to be set up wrongly at the factory! .
  9. I understand the New 450h Sport model and the Premier L model have an air suspension damper between the struts to improve the suspension. Can this be retro fitted to the 450h-L with air suspension without the damper? Does anyone who has a Sport model and has previoulsy had an L air tell me if he notices the difference
  10. My rear tyres are wearing on the inner tread, they are Dunlop SP Max A1 19" wheels I have been told by the MOT tester that they need chaging very soon, even though the rest of the tyre has at least 4mm this is happening on both rear tyres. Is this common with the 450h with Air suspension? If so, are Lexus aware, should i have been warned by the main dealer (altjough hardly likely)? or is there a camber adjustment that can be made
