@DAW No problem, I'll be heading back there soon myself as they have sourced black wheel and locking nuts for my wheels. I've been looking since getting the wheels done, I managed to find wheel nuts but had no luck finding black locking nuts. These guys with their contacts made a few phone calls and can get them.

If you go they are located next to a Toyota dealer (Steven Eagell) and behind a Gulf petrol garage, there's a body shop, mechanics workshop and EMP exhaust workshop all in the one place. EMP did my custom axle back Powerflex exhaust.

A handy place to know by the sounds of it & thanks again for the info 👍🏻

You cloud go the option I did to my OEM wheels.

Nice, who did those If you don’t mind me asking?

My diamond cuts will need doing at some point, but would like to keep them looking standard & wondered if I could get them redone with the original gun metal grey, but with the front coated silver to mimic the original polished finish. Wasn’t sure if this was possible until I saw your wheels!

  3. @RCF5v8 Thanks for the info - will probably just get the dealer to sort it as that will be quicker I suspect.

My car is pretty low mileage, so just changed the original tyres as I was concerned about rubber being beyond its best, even though there was plenty of tread left. Similar situation with my previous ISF, which was even lower mileage, so this is actually the first time I’ve had to change tyres in nearly 10 years on a Lexus.

Both the stability control system (yaw rate / acceleration sensor and roll rate / vertical acceleration sensor zero point calibration) and lane keeping system should be calibrated after wheel alignment and aren't self calibrating. Steering centre calibration for pre-crash safety is self calibrating and park assist will ask for driver calibration if needed where you go full lock-to-lock.

Didn’t realise this as I have recently had 4 new tyres & 4 wheel alignment done by tyre specialist.
I take it I need the dealer to sort this? - pity as the car was serviced on Saturday!

  5. Congratulations & welcome to the club.

The car looks stunning!! Always been partial to red leather & must be the only one in the uk with that colour combo?

Like to see some more pictures of the interior when you get the opportunity!

They are a great car, so I’m sure you will have some fun drives a head 👍🏻

  6. Problem with the original exhaust fake tips is they have a habit of falling off when the spot welds corrode, so if u do manage to find any, probably worth getting the welds re done.

They are some £400 per corner new from Lexus as they also have a resonator cone assembly as well.  There is a picture in one of the threads on here somewhere.

When I had my ISF, losing exhaust tips was one of the few issues that came up occasionally and when faced with the replacement cost it made changing to the H&S system an attractive option when comparing the overall costs.  if u wanted more sound it was a no brainer, so was popular!

I don't know if things have changed recently, but according to my 10yr + extended warranty paperwork, the warranty is  provided by Toyota GB (Lexus Division) and administered by TWG.

That said, as I understand it, you can't get it from TWG direct, and have to go through a dealer. The issue with that is that a lot of dealers are unaware that such a warranty exists; I had to get my dealer to contact Lexus to get the details and set it up. If your dealer is unable/unwilling to do so, then I know Lexus Guildford are aware of it, and I believe Reading too,  and I suppose  it doesn't matter which dealer you get it through, as it's a central thing and not dealer specific.

Cost is give or take £500 per annum, depending on model, and of course is conditional on Lexus servicing for the duration.  Depending on service history, they might also want to carry out an approval inspection first.

I found TWG very helpful when I spoke to them regarding my Quicksilver exhaust / extended warranty, so TBH I’m glad it’s them administering the 10+ warranty.

Thanks for the heads up on the dealerships that know about  the 10+ and will try them if I have any issues with Lexus Woodford👍🏻

Once Relax ends you can purchased the old used warranty again - between 10 years and 15 years old, which has better coverage than Relax.

Thanks for that bit of info Colin, as that was something else I didn’t know & TWG didn’t mention when I contacted them at the end of my extended warranty in February.

I was considering what to do on my cars tenth year & now I know!

TWG also gave the impression that they were no longer dealing with Lexus warranties, so does that mean some other group are dealing with the 10yr+ warranty you mention?

  9. I remember when I was researching for any known issues with the ISF, many moons ago, & there had been a few cases of failed headlights which if I remember correctly were some £800 each.  It was that which convinced me that the extended warranty for £895 for two years (inc European breakdown cover) was a no brainer.

I hadn’t realised until this thread that the relax warranty was not as comprehensive as the previous extended warranty!  Like others have said I would be happy to pay a top up to get the warranty to match the cover of the discontinued extended warranty.  Seems like a sure way of irritating owners who have been used to the idea of being covered for these rare, but potentially very expensive failures.

Having spoke to my main dealer, I’m not convinced many of them do affect warranty.

I think that is probably true, but the Quicksilver was developed with Lexus Uk for The RCF’s Debut at the Goodwood FoS & apparently Lexus engineers were involved in its development.  Lexus Cheltenham actually fitted most (if not all) of the exhausts from the group buy I was part of.

I also contacted TWG who ran the Lexus extended warranty at the time who confirmed it wouldn’t invalidate the warranty - the thread from then is on here sometime back in 2018 I think.

I had a manual transmission golf R before I got the RCF & I used the OBD to disable the exhaust baffles so they were permanently open. I came from Nissan S15 with a sports exhaust, where i could tell when to change gear by the exhaust note, I found it really difficult at first to drive the Golf fast as i couldnt hear the engine or exhaust at all. I ended up reactivating them,  but as I owned the OBD thing already it was free & made the car louder all the time.

Wonder if you can try opening up the stock exhaust all the time using the Techstream thing.

I hadn’t realised how much I relied on the revs when driving until I struggled to hear them at lower rpms in my previous ISF & was another reason for wanting to change the exhaust on my RCF along with hearing more of the V8.

Thanks for the response. You make a good point about how a modified car might be viewed when it comes time to sell, not everyone wants a loud exhaust.

Is the Blitz Nur Spec a valved system? I couldn't see any mention of it on the link you provided.

Seems that a lot of people who buy F’s & post on this forum want to hear more of the V8, so not sure that it would be an issue come resale, & like others I kept my original exhaust in case.

  13. All the F’s have the same issue from the factory.  I didn’t get round to changing the exhaust on my previous ISF, but jumped at joining a group buy for the Quicksilver exhaust as I was determined not to make the same mistake with the RCF & I’m so glad I did.

There is a little drone at motorway cruising speed, but from my perspective it’s so much better than the standard exhaust.  However I do appreciate that the exhaust sound & tolerance to any drone is a very personal thing.  I’m sure a valved system will be a better more practical option, but it’s also a much more expensive one.

l’m very happy with the Quicksilver & it completely changed my enjoyment of the car, so I hope you find a system that suits, as you will not regret changing it to release the full V8.  Good luck👍🏻
