  1. I previously owned a 98 GS300 when I was 23 and it was £800 to insure. I'm now looking around for a LS400 95 model and I'm looking at nearly £1,000 to insure it with 6,000 miles and 4 years no claims! I envy the prices i'm seeing above!
  2. Its a friend of mine has a company that does Headlight conversions. I'm confident he could do your mk3. His company is called HeadlightRetrofits and they are based in Dumbarton (Scotland). If your interested you can search for them on facebook or google.
  3. Hello, I've had my headlight's converted to have bi-xenon projectors fitted with angel eyes. Not everyones cup of tea but I think it suits the Lexus quite well! Thought I would post her if anyone is interested in this sort of thing. The Camera doesn't pick them up well during the day, but they are quite bright
  4. I've checked the rear speed sensors and they show the resistance as 1.2 ohms so i beleive they are fine. I've replaced the ABS ECU under the dash with a used part from ebay. Speedo worked for 2 seconds then stopped. Would I be right in saying its time to replace the brake control unit under the bonnet? I've heard I should replace it with an 02-05 model part, is this just plug and play or would it need modification? Thanks
  5. This sounds promising! I look forward to your reply. I assume the paper clip will go into the diagnostics port under the bonnet??
  6. Thanks for your reply, were are the speed sensors plugged into? Thanks
  7. Hello, I'm yet another victim of the above problems. I have tried to search for an answer but I can't find anything that points me in the right direction. I've had diagnostics run and was advised it was the Rear Right speed sensor. They had to remove the hub to get the sensor out as it was stuck so I was advised the ABS ring was fine. Unfortunately this cleared the code, but not my problems. I've just tried replacing the ABS ECU with a used one from ebay which has not altered the problem in any way. The weird thing is, if i plug a hand held diagnostics computer into it (it advises communication failed), the lights go out except the ABS light. When the vehicle starts moving all three lights illuminate again and the speedometer starts working once at a speed of 20mph+ but after returning to a stop the lights go out with the exception of the ABS light. Eventually (5-10 minutes) the speedometer stops working and all three lights remain on constantly. Can anyone shed any light on my problem. The brakes feel fine. P.s. 1998 GS300 with 70,000 miles
  8. I have the exact same problem at the moment, speedo not reading below 20, then eventually after a slow crawl in traffic, stops working altogether. If I plug in a diagnostic handheld tool, it doesn't read the codes, but it does appear to reset whatever is stopping the speedo from working. Garage replaced the Rear right speed sensor with no success. They had to dismantle the hub to get the sensor out as it was stuck, so i imagine they checked the ABS ring for damage. Are you any further forward with your problem?
  9. haha, yeah, thats the plan. Don't think he will install them for me but I have been told of a place that will install them for £30 if i get them myself. Was actually considering a camera, I have an aftermarket unit in the car with GPS/DVD player etc, and it has a camera function. Was considering one of the cameras you install into the number plate lights. e.g. http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/Integrated-Rear-view-Camera-for-Toyota.html Anyone done this?
  10. For anyone interested I have booked in with an independent body shop who have told me they can repair the bumper at the cost of £150 (includes painting)! Thanks for your help.
  11. If I can get a used rear bumper resprayed (from a different colour) for £150 i will be very happy indeed :D Fingers crossed! Thanks!
  12. The bench was fine! Damn thing stronger than the lexus ! Its pretty hard to find a bumper for this! Had two quotes from breaker yard, but not in black. Any rough Ideas on how much it would be to get a bumper resprayed?
