  1. Thanks for the reply, did a search and seems like a dash out job! might just try wedging some foam at the bottom of the windscreen instead.
  2. Damn shame, anyone got a fix for the dashboard creek I am hearing? have asked the missus to keep her hand pressed against the speaker for the duration of the journey but for some reason she is not keen????
  3. Apologies if this has been done to death already but is this crack noise the same as the irritating crack/creak noise coming from the top of my dashboard around the centre speaker/air vent area? Hope it is this, as it would be great to put an end to the noise.
  4. Should? can anyone confirm this? most importantly would it be an improvement?. Would upgrade discs and pads at the same time. If they make a noticeable difference they seem like a pretty cheap improvement.
  5. These are advertised as IS350 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Disc-Brake-Caliper-Friction-Choice-Caliper-Front-Right-fits-06-13-Lexus-IS350-/400652086834?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d48b9ae32 Are these an upgrade on the existing caliper and will they fit?
  6. Hmmm so common then, gotta say I don't find it a particularly good look has anyone managed to get rid? I need to take my sub out the back to repair/replace is it possible to remove the shelf?
  7. Hey, anyone else experienced a mottled rear parcel shelf? looks a bit like mold but there is no smell. Had a look at another in a car park and it had the same, is this normal? I'm assuming it would not have come out of the factory like this so how has it come about and can it be altered? Any info would be appreciated
  8. I used mtec drilled and grooved in black on my Alfa 159, in all honesty they were noisy but the black coating worked a treat, obviously the paint on the face of the disk wore off near instantly but the advantage being the centre's and the outside edge stayed black which looked a lot better than the usual rust colour associated with unpainted versions. Sold the car after the brakes had been on a year so not sure how long they stay looking good but would definitely purchase again.
  9. Mine look awful, any one tried these of the bay? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CHROME-EXHAUST-TAIL-PIPE-TRIM-TIP-LEXUS-/190670570754?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3ALexus%7CModel%3AIS%7CCars+Type%3A250&hash=item2c64da0502 Bit cheaper than the OEM ones quoted above but will they look :zee: or :yack:
  10. Sorry to hi jack your post but having just a bought an IS 250 i have noticed that the sub makes some funny noises when the bass is up, I fear it may be blown. My questions - is it easy to remove? and could this foam surround be a fix for the problem? also if not is there an alternative that will fit as the only replacements I can see are £££ and from USA.
  11. Please take a read of the is250 forum postings. you will find quite a bit of interest. Be aware that the road tax on a manual version is circa £460pa. The road tax on the auto is circa £280. Don't ignore the auto ....it is very very good. Should you wish you can put it in S (sport) mode and use the conventional, albeit sequential stick action...or the steering wheel paddles. Yes I had originally planned to get an auto due to tax and recommendations that the auto is better unfortunately the two that have really caught my eye are manuals and the premium attached to similar autos will pay the extra tax for at least three years. They do look good in red...
  12. Hi all I have just sold my Alfa 159 2.4 ti :( it was my second 159 and a very nice, quick motor that both my wife and I will sadly miss, but, Alfa don't seem interested in building new cars much anymore so after hunting around and staying at arms length of every boring German offering we have decided to buy a IS 250. So here we are, moving over from the Alfa Romeo Forum I hope I dont regret it (certainly wont miss the garage bills!). I am going to look at a IS250 today on a 08 plate, manual with 81k. anything inparticular I should keep an eye out for, I'm reliably informed these jap motors are bullet proof but as a conditioned Alfa owner I am expectant of common faults, are there any to be wary of? Look forward to future correspondence :)
