  1. Probably best having an approved installer look at it - check the official site of the manufacturer of your aftermarket alarm and find a local place to have a look.
  2. what plate sizes did you end up going with ? I'll have to get UK plates made up for my Ireland (via Japan of course) RS200 import, which currently has long UK-style plates front and back. I know the rear still has the mount holes for the Japanese plate, the front I'm not so sure about. I might go with an off-centre square-style front plate for extra 'JDM yo' ;)
  3. Update on this, and thanks to posters for the reponses! I've used a label maker I had to make some little '10' '20' etc. numbers and have placed them on the current KM/H dial. This is all that is needed for MOT - Northern Ireland appear to be the only UK/Ireland MOT place enforcing this rule, but some European directive states that speedos must be dual display - especially import in NI I suppose because we have a road border with a EU KM/H country! If I can get a Lexus IS200 cluster I'll try doing a straight swap and see how it goes - concerned that the mileage will be way off though. My other option is to install a speedo converter / speed limit defender - it will make the speedo dial read in MPH, but the base line odometer (with 140,000km) will then start to read miles. So I'll have to have the awkward conversation when I sell the car 'it's not 150,000 miles, it's 140,000 kilometers plus 10,000 miles) !
  4. Hi guys I'll be buying an Altezza from ROI with a KM/H only cluster. For my MOT I need a dual display MPH and KPH. I can't find any conversion kits with new dial faces, so I'll need to swap in a UK spec cluster from a Lexus. Anyone know if it's a straight swap, even for an auto? Kinda urgent, cheers! Damien
  5. As a T-top MR2 owner shopping for an sunroof Altezza at the moment, you'd can't imagine how happy I am to know the solution is so easy (and I even have that spray from my various attempts to stop the t-top leaks :D)
  6. Bump, anyone? TLDR; will 17 wheels, 8" ET35 front and 9" ET38 rears fit IS200/Altezza without modification?
  7. Hi folks I'm possibly picking up an Altezza and was wondering if anyone could provide advice on how I could fit my staggered wheel setup (from an MR2) on it: 17", 8" width (ET35) on the front 17", 9J (ET38) on the rear I believe the offsets are completely wrong - can I correct this with spacers? I've pretty clueless when it comes to wheels - is ET35/ET38 mean it will be too close to the hub? Or stick out too far? Also, appreciate that staggered on FR will not be perfect for handling! Cheers!
  8. Hi all I'm thinking of picking up a is 200 or 300 in the future as a DD. I'm taking my time and want a particular set up so no rush. I can see 1 is200 for sale in white, but no 300s. Did they make them in the UK and does anyone know how popular they would be? For the 200 I'll be looking for a sport with the read tinted windows and wind deflectors hopefully in auto. Tried a few sites but they only five total number of cars, nothing in relation to UK spec and available colour codes for UK. Thanks
