  1. Before I built a car port my wife car used to be left on the drive to get covered in ice. She religiously covered the windscreen in an old bedding sheet. It works a treat, I couldn't be bothered and had to scrape, set off, stop up the road, scrape, set off again etc etc.
  2. I think I think in time I may do the same, just leaving the centre cover on.
  3. I've had the centre cover off, no problem, its held on with common rubber fasteners I have seen on several cars I have owned. But I wonder if at some time the plastic push fasteners will break with use and at that point do you bother putting all the shielding on. Don't know?. Time will tell. I agree, it does look nice. It was a bit of a laugh when the neighbour came over to look at the car, when I told him it was a V6 he asked for a look, we both laughed as we looked under the bonnet, underwhelming or what?
  4. Do we need all this plastic under the bonnet? Has anyone removed it all? Apart from the aesthetic look when you pop the bonnet and keeping the engine clean, why? I do a lot of my own work on my cars, taking off and replacing these engine covers is going to test my patience.
  5. Average house! one wife! you really must try harder.
  6. I have only had my Lexus for a few weeks but did e-mail Lexus Bradford who supplied me with history of my car. They als informed me about the upcoming service and prices. I won't be paying their prices. No need to actually visit a dealer. My question is, why are salesmen utter a***holes at the premium brand dealers? i.e. BMW, Audi, etc. When you pull into some of their dealerships they don't even greet you. I have not had any experience of Lexus, but would assume they would be the same from some of the comments on this site.
  7. From the album: My cars, past and present

    Smooth, different to an Alfa.
  8. From the album: My cars, past and present

    Stunning just stood still.
  9. Hi, I have gone recently from a 1.9 Alfa 159 diesel to a Lexus Is 250 advance auto Petrol, I can see the fuel gauge dropping as I drive, :D but it is a fabulous smooth motor. Only had it a few weeks and have not had time to gauge the fuel usage, but first impression is that its thirsty.
  10. Yep, I agree, first dark coloured car I have owned. Has a certain "meaness" to it. Love the toys included with the package.
  11. Hi, New owner introducing himself here. Had the car just over a fortnight. Cured the door rattle problem thanks to research on this site. Looking forward to a long and pleasant association. Garry.
