  1. I live local to this ford and it is notorious. My son was married at the mill you can see where the people are watching and the driver of their wedding car insisted he took them through it at speed for the photo opportunity. They came through unscathed luckily. many people think they have escaped unharmed only to break down at the traffic lights a mile up the A614 near Center Parks.
  2. took them years to develop the self tangling hose😉
  3. as far as I am aware there are 2 V notches about 30mm apart cut into the downwards seam to indicate where the supplied jack locates towards both front and rear of the sill if that helps. Paul
  4. Okay ,so back to the licences who like me still holds their original paper one and obviously not had a photo type. Dealerships hate having to unfold it when they need a photocopy😁
  5. my AA solar charger has an obd2 connector as well as battery clamps. I thought the one that the ad pointed to also had these.
  6. Eye halve a spelling chequer It came with my pea sea It plainly marques four my revue Miss steaks eye kin knot sea. Eye strike a quay and type a word And weight four it two say Weather eye am wrong oar write It shows me strait a weigh. As soon as a mist ache is maid It nose bee fore two long And eye can put the error rite Its really ever wrong. Eye have run this poem threw it I am shore your pleased two no Its letter perfect in it's weigh My chequer tolled me sew. (Sauce unknown)
  7. There are photos around that shows the grille cut to gain access to the cables so I would think a complete horn reposition would be the best option
  8. I live in a geographical bowl so when I return home my battery is usually well charged however when I leave home I cannot make much use of said charge as the battery is cold and I have to go uphill whichever direction I go. This means that my fuel consumption is not as stated it's something I just have to accept.
  9. I remember them all but Twizzle seems to be the one that gets forgotten and Torchy the battery boy as the song goes.
  10. Thanks Richard I have posted in wheels section my intentions

    TPMS

No recommendations so I will put a conventional valve in the first wheel and swop each in turn after reconditioning wheel and fitting new battery to sensor.

Hi no response in GS section so can anyone with experience recommend a non OEM sensor that I can fit to a wheel whilst I systematically replace the batteries in the existing units as I refurb the wheels one at a time using a spare wheel to keep the car on the road. £90 for OEM. car is GS450h 2009
  13. Following TPMS in Brakes and Suspension section but don't want to hijack so can anyone with experience recommend a non OEM sensor that I can fit to a wheel whilst I systematically replace the batteries in the existing units as I am refurbing the wheels one at a time using a spare wheel to keep the car on the road. Don't fancy spending £90 for OEM. TIA Paul
  14. Don't know about LSD but your car should weigh in at around 2.5 T. which makes it even more surprisingly quick
  15. Steven if you look at all the stickers in the B post (door jalm) on both sides it may state which model as mine does on the passenger side. Not the main VIN sticker but a small separate one.
  16. Yes there is a simple switch beneath the rubber cover. Push it in and let it out when you have the door open. You might have to give it a wobble and see what result you get.
  17. I'd also check door switch although Nottingham Lexus were unable to diagnose this as the fault I had until I lost it with them ( when they tried to charge me £100 to diagnose it) because I had already told them that was the problem before they started looking for it, I just wanted the switch replacing under warranty. They had the car for 3days!!!
  18. A close mate who has worked in tyres all his life (now retired) always told me that if you rotate then you always have to buy four tyres at once. Being a pauper at the time I always took his advice so could then spread the replacement cost. That was before directional became common.🙂
  19. This might sound silly but on my 2009 model the lights don't actually go off until the door is opened. I had a problem with the switch on the B pillar and that would not turn off the lights when the door was opened sometimes. Because the lights are on you may not realize that the interior light also failed to come on. This meant that the ecu didn't pick up the door opening.
  20. If you accidently press and hold the unlock button on the remote it drops all the windows and opens the moon roof but then relocks the door after so long because it's not been opened. It can be programmed not to do this. I have had it happen several times when my car has been parked for the night in my garage (luckily)
  21. I did it in 1989 and then completed a course as an "observer" in my local group which I did for a few years. I can highly recommend it as it will improve anyone's skills. it has changed in the intervening years but still very good. When my employer made all it's drivers take a driving assessment the assessor offered me a job in his driving school but I turned him down. Paul
