  1. "Appauling" Being spelled correctly.......Appalling
  2. Wash it Polish it Service it. It will not let you down. Welcome to LOC. Enjoy the car and the forums. Terry
  3. For a guy that owns "hundreds of websites" your profile is pretty bare! Your grammar and spelling is not very good. And you can moan more than my Ex missus. I don't believe an intelligent guy buying a car would not check the paperwork before doing the deal. You sound so knowledgeable about consumer affairs yet you buy a lemon! If all what you say is true then name and shame the seller and I wish you luck in resolving the matter. That's if you haven't sued them all by then! Good luck
  4. I would suggest that you buy the timing belt from LEXUS It's a very important bit of kit, so go for the genuine part. If you buy one that is aftermarket and it fails you are talking a serious ammount of money. They are not that expensive. The spoiler and other bits come up on Fleabay on a regular basis. Terry
  5. It's the mugs that buy it that keep him in business!
  6. Cambelt change for the RX is 100K Wind noise is not a serious issue. I have wind deflectors so don't notice it at all. Mechacnics wise the RX is almost bulletproof. Just make sure of a genuine service history and keep to the service schedule. OEM alloys on almost all the Lexus range don't last much longer than the warranty if they manage it. Either refurbs or aftermarket wheels are an option. It is a great luxury SUV. Plenty of good examples out there and cheap money at the moment. Good luck in your purchase. Terry
  7. I had BBS wheels on my RX when I first got it. You just need to make sure that you get the correct offset.
  8. You are lucky to live in a country with NHS Most other countries you would be paying for treatment. As Bazza says had it been "urgent or life threatening" you would have been dealt with sooner. Letters to solicitors and complaints only add pressure to the NHS and cost money. Enjoy the new addition to your family and be thankful that the emergency services are only a free phonecall away when you need them most. Obviously the baby is fine (I am glad) so it was not an emergency. Iv'e been stuck in traffic jams for more than 3 hours so it really is not a big deal.
  9. I have had the Lexus map updates pinned on this forum. Check your disc numbers .........Here...
  10. Breakers yard would be cheapest option. Lexus will want an arm a leg and one of your reproductive organs! One on Ebay (Durham area breaking) Linky
  11. Can't see why it would be a write off? Does'nt look like any pillar damage. Just wing, bonnet , headlamp and front panel. The Suzuki looks worse off than the Lex! Depends on what the value of the car is against the parts and labour costs. Sorry it happened to you though. Good luck with the outcome.
  12. Don't know about the 400 but here is a MK.1 RX 300 off road.
  13. If it were my car I would be sharing a cell with Gord!
  14. You got the car for a decent price. Mechanically the RX is pretty much bulletproof. Regarding the wheels you may find a decent set on Ebay(Lexus originals) that are cheaper than getting yours refurbed. Corrosion with the original Lex alloys has always been a problem, more so on the IS model. Regarding servicing, look around for a good independant garage that has a good reputation they are "Toyota" after all ,so pretty easy to service with no major problems. Good luck with and enjoy the car and these forums. Welcome to LOC Terry
  15. If you go to Luke to sort out your Sat/Nav it will be a new S/N not the OEM one but all the OEM functions /buttons etc. will still work. Glad that you are happy with the motor Terry
  16. No special way just jump start as any normal car. (with leads from another vehicle I am assuming)
  17. It has not happened to me and I have not heard of it as a common fault on the RX ? So,sorry can't help you out on that one.
  18. The wheels and nuts will fit no problem. As for lowering it depends on how low and your budget./Springs/coilovers
  19. Email a UK Lexus dealer and see if they can send you one. They do come up on Ebay from time to time especially the USA site. Hope it helps. Terry
  20. It is exactly the same timing belt as for the UK spec RX300 (Providing it is the 3.0 litre NOT the 2.4Litre engine) Just order the RX cam belt from Lexus.
  21. My RX is not a '54 model so there could be changes to the fuse layout. But the lighter fuse also controls outside rearview mirrors and power door lock system. On mine it is a 15amp fuse located on the interior drivers side fuse box. It is fuse No. 22 First row, Left hand side, third fuse down. Hope it helps. The fuse layouts should be in your manual if you have one. Terry
  22. Why did you buy a car that"was'nt" suited to your needs in the first place?
  23. Try here breaking LS400.....Ebay Link
