  1. I wear (Dents) Driving Gloves - old style but amazingly effective.
  2. It's always sad when a good garage closes down... Which one was it?
  3. In think 'socks' are a great idea - in theory - but I have heard stories of them shredding very quickly. For me, it's still all-seasons. Fit and forget.
  4. Gosh, Anthony, I'm so sorry. A very sobering story. I'm glad you are on the mend, all be it slowly, but it sounds like steadily. I send you my very best good wishes, thoughts and prayers. I hope that the physical and I'm sure, emotional, healing continues forward. Piers.
  5. Yes, John. I bought a little red IQ. 2014. It's great!. Like a Tardis inside! Running on All-Seasons, and a lovely new battery.
  6. e.g. The top pick: "Fitted this to my steering wheel. Came back to the car late at night, the lock refused to open - key refused to come out. Stuck. Called the AA at 11.30pm - at 2am, someone came. Got the casing off and got the remains of the key out of the lock, it had snapped in half. But unable to open the lock. I had to 'sleep' in my car overnight and await an AA recovery vehicle at 9am the next morning. Got home, a drop of 3in1 oil in the lock and put the spare key in, it opened. Would never use this product again after that. As for the ten year guarantee, all my attempts to communicate with Saxon Brands have been met with silence. No reply at all. So quite what the guarantee is for?"
  7. It is! Good makes, expensive ones, cheap ones... it's a shame. I've yet to 'find' one I think I could trust. I've toyed with the idea of a chain and a decent, quality padlock, but can't get my head round how it would work, practically.
  8. I think I'd get it to my nearest Lexus dealer... for a check, with a view to getting a new battery - maybe?
  9. BEST wishes for a speedy recovery. I slipped and fell over this morning on the ice - ok I think. Be careful out there... But do have Covid - again.
  10. Oh dear... If it's from Lexus with a warranty, I would book it in for free fixes!
  11. -3 where we live, but saw -8 on my drive this morning...
  12. I am NO expert but... I think a visual deterrent is better. Ghost sounds amazing but - and I could be wrong - the car could still be significantly damaged before the thief realised. You are then left with your car, but severely damaged? ( CCTV, PIR lights, locked gate if you have a driveway...? )
  13. I agree with Len. You have been through a lot, emotionally and physically, not just today but yesterday as well. I would guess your body is sorting itself out... I wasn't sick but the following day I felt total exhaustion, and a little tired the day after. Perhaps as individuals we all react individually. Hopefully a good nights sleep ( no MovePrep! ) and a restful day tomorrow. BEST wishes to you, Herbie.
  14. Can I suggest, Herbie, ( your personal choice, of course ), that it is sedation AND pain-relief. I was given something to make me drowsy, something for pain(Fentanyl) and something to make me forget - I think. Gas and air was also an option. Being naturally shy, I've learnt that on occasions it's best to lay-my-cards on the table and share my anxiety and pain-aversion with all medical people concerned. They are always very receptive!
  15. Mike, I’m sorry to hear that. Cancer is a very personal journey. Not easy, obviously, but what’s out there to help is so much better than it was. I had Appendix Cancer about 12 years ago. Not easy, at times really, really tough. Tears, ups, downs and… platitudes not welcome. We wish you well and I’m sure that support and understanding of something so difficult is here; it certainly is from me. Piers
  16. Well... I received my Prostate Biopsy results yesterday. All benign I am pleased and relieved to say. ( Just occasional blood tests now... ) Apparently, ( remembering I was under general anaesthetic, fortunately! ) I had 33 biopsies taken. Now there's just general pain and general unpleasantness in the basement area. It will pass ( no pun intended? ).
  17. I'm glad, all things considered, it went 'well'. It's always nice to reach and achieve these procedures and then be able to look forward to happier things to do. I guess you have now joined the 'soft cushions are preferable' club.
  18. I've often used a good old fashioned Insurance Broker... Also adding a spouse ( if you have one ) as a named driver helps...
  19. ... you could use 'their' Complaints Procedure, maybe?
  20. I'm so glad, John, that your recent, 'MOT', passed with no advisories.
  21. I wish you all - all the things you want to have wished for you. 🙏
