  1. My ISF ownership is now over. Nice chap came and bought it today. Hopefully he joins the forums and has as much enjoyment out of it as I did.
  2. Have any GSF’s actually been taken via this method?
  3. I wouldn’t give them a 24 hour ultimatum over the weekend.
  4. I was away for the weekend and came back to this email: "I sent a proposal/offer for your car recently. I am a genuine buyer living in Ireland and wanting to import an ISF. I can appreciate you might be wary of my offer and if I do not hear from you within the next 24 hours I will buy a different car." Definitely makes me even more wary. Why the desperation? I took months to find a car. Good luck with his search.
  5. Received a message about my car and I’m slightly wary: “I Live in Southern Ireland and want to import a Lexus ISF. I am interested in buying your car. If I sent you £500 in good faith, would you have your car serviced at Lexus Birmingham, and get a new MOT for it. I would pay you your asking price for it” Is there some kind of scam I’m being setup for?
  6. Just seen this, not been on here for a while. Mines for sale at the moment. I’ve been a bit lazy shifting it tbh.
  7. The other thing to note is this isn’t a full drain down and flush, more like a top up. Also it’s been done by Lexus, so I’m sure they know what they’re doing. I was out in mine today and the one thing I do remember was it used to be snatchy when cold. It’s perfectly smooth again despite me not being in the car much.
  8. It’s not been driven much over the last couple of months as it’s up for sale. But I’ll get some quality time in it over Xmas, so will give my updated thoughts. I’ll try and see if I can find the receipt for the cost. There’s a lot of them.
  9. There were quite a lot of new options with the facelift, the USB colour option with the white seats and LSD were new. Also DAB and full postcode searching on NAV as well. That’s why the 58 plate 2009 import confused me. Looks like it had a Tv as well.
  10. I always turn off traction control as it seems to punt me into a slide at 5mph.
  11. I’ve got a Tesla model 3 performance at the moment due to my increase in miles. Ridiculous acceleration, it’s quite fun. Don’t want to do those in the Lexus. So both on the drive at the moment. Saved about £600 in fuel already as we have an EV charger on free vend at work.
  12. lol. It’s sat on my drive! It’s a 59 plate https://www.evo.co.uk/lexus/is/6815/lexus-is-f-road-test-review
  13. Just seen this thread. You’d think I’d check this a bit more often with a car for sale. 😃 My son is 24 and my daughter is 19. Normally my wife and daughter go in the back. Myself and my son are 6ft. As for the best value ISF for sale…I’m biased. Plus there’s wiggle room in my price, as with anything. The import one confused me on AT as it is a facelift model but is a 2009 car? I thought facelift was 2010? Mine is the cheapest facelift non import, non insurance cat damaged car I believe.
  14. Don't worry, I'm not offended at all. We're all petrol heads who own 'F's. If I was bothered by others opinions I wouldn't have posted it here. This is the opposite of the cares we own. I can however give an unvarnished unfiltered perspective of having one and using it in anger. I'm genuinely impressed by the performance of the thing. Performance brakes however are a lie. They would need upgrading if you wanted to do anything near a track. Also the seats despite being comfy offer nothing in the way of holding you in place. Being used to 250 miles out of a tank, the battery range is on a par, so I'm not hyper mileing it. The insurance premiums may turn out to be a blessing, because I can see a lot of these being picked up cheaply and punted into a hedge, due to the power on tap.
  15. So the previous sellers phone was deregistered. When you register a new one, you have to send a pic of your id and proof of ownership via the app. Someone checks that and then approves.
  16. Tesla don’t use physical keys. You have 2 credit card keys registered to the car which you can pair and unpair. You can register a mobile phone in the app and once you send proof of identification and ownership you’re added on as an owner. This then allows you to control the car and schedule when you want it ready for in the morning, it will heat itself up and precondition the battery. The phone acts as the key, and will work to unlock and lock the car based on proximity. I’ve also activated pin to drive, as an extra layer of security, which means the car asks for a pin before it will move. There was a software update available when I picked it up. Having built in Netflix, Disney and YouTube along with the main streaming music apps means it’s not a chore to spend time in Insurance was a big jump, it’s in the top group of insurance and cost me £1300 compared to the £563 I paid in April for the isf.
  17. I’d been debating getting an EV for the last few months ironically off the back of getting a UX ev the last few times I’ve had visits to Lexus. I have a free charger at work, so the financial benefits were obvious. Only issue I had was it was a bit small and the range was pretty bad when I used them. I did start looking at what I could jump out of my ISF into and not lose the will to live. I liked the Jag iPace, Polestar 2 dual motor and the Tesla model 3 performance. After a bit of shopping around I picked up a 3 yr old model 3 performance with only 9.5k miles on it. The jump from analogue to digital is eye opening to say the least. With no theatre, gates of hell opening or wheel slip the acceleration is the most savage I’ve experienced. The instant response and rapid acceleration will take some getting use to. Things I didn’t expect, the Tesla is actually lower stanced than the ISF. It’s very planted with virtually no body roll although I’ve not really took it on many twisties yet. But the extra weight has not been noticeable at all. Oh and the stereo is hands down the best factory car stereo I’ve ever heard. I thought the Mark Levinson we had was good, but this is amazing. The ISF is up for sale, but I suspect I’ll have it for a few weeks yet so will be able to compare the two more thoroughly. I’ll take some pics when the weather is better and they’re both clean.
  18. My car was missing service history when I purchased it in 2018. However the previous owner spent £4k at Lexus on having everything being put right including a new radiator before I bought it, so I was happy to take the risk. Once I had it serviced and Lexus Birmingham had seen it, I was able to purchase 2 years warranty, which I thought was pretty great at the time. Never had to use it mind. I've built up 5 years of Lexus Service history since.
  19. Cheers Short term plan is to go electric, long term plan all being well would be to end up with an LC500 as a weekend wafter.
  20. Just seen this thread. Well done and congrats. I put my 2010 usb on autotrader today. Its been a great 5 years. would have loved to have sold it to a fellow forumite.
  21. Meh, I replaced a 2l 50mpg diesel Mondeo with my isf 3.5 years ago. Despite the extra fuel/tax costs I don't regret it for a minute. Go on a roadtrip and your faith will be restored. Only thing I'd replace mine with would be another Lexus 5l. You should be able to get your money back, but I fear you may regret it at some point.
  22. Those of us of a certain age will recognise the analogy of 'triggers broom' It's not that I distrust Toyota, but the owners before me. Plus my car was the Evo review car. I have noticed smoother/qukcker gear shifts from cold in the few days It's been done. Although I expect the gearbox has been reset so it's probably in learning mode.
