Don’t mean to hi-jack the thread, I’ll be looking to sell my ISF. I’ll get some info / pictures put together on separate thread. In summary, it’s had headers, rad, starter motor, suspension / bushes/ (B6 Bilstein shocks) all carried out. I hardly drive the car but that can be said on other cars I own, I need to sell the ISF as I need get money together for a large house deposit.

    Good luck!

Since I started this topic I feel in need to say something. Because of Deron’s responding very slow and refusing my offer I bought 2014 isf in Japan.

Big thanks mr D. for his car sale attitude.

It wouldn’t have happened without him:)

That's a bit of a bad tasting message. There are a lot of scams going around, if you saw he was on here you could of directly messaged him through LOC ?

    🤔

  3. I was away for the weekend and came back to this email:

"I sent a proposal/offer for your car recently. I am a genuine buyer living in Ireland and wanting to import an ISF. I can appreciate you might be wary of my offer and if I do not hear from you within the next 24 hours I will buy a different car."

Definitely makes me even more wary. Why the desperation?

I took months to find a car. Good luck with his search.

  4. Received a message about my car and I’m slightly wary:

“I Live in Southern Ireland and want to import a Lexus ISF. I am interested in buying your car. If I sent you £500 in good faith, would you have your car serviced at Lexus Birmingham, and get a new MOT for it. I would pay you your asking price for it”

Is there some kind of scam I’m being setup for?

  5. The other thing to note is this isn’t a full drain down and flush, more like a top up.

Also it’s been done by Lexus, so I’m sure they know what they’re doing.

I was out in mine today and the one thing I do remember was it used to be snatchy when cold. It’s perfectly smooth again despite me not being in the car much.

  6. Just seen this thread. You’d think I’d check this a bit more often with a car for sale. 😃

My son is 24 and my daughter is 19.

Normally my wife and daughter go in the back. Myself and my son are 6ft.

As for the best value ISF for sale…I’m biased. Plus there’s wiggle room in my price, as with anything.

The import one confused me on AT as it is a facelift model but is a 2009 car? I thought facelift was 2010?

Mine is the cheapest facelift non import, non insurance cat damaged car I believe.

Good luck and all that, I have to say I am coming from the opposite direction and looking to hold on to my analogue ISF for as long as possible, before I have to hand in my ba**s and migrate to an EV.  I really, really, don't get the attraction myself, but then I don't have to commute as such, if I did, and needed a main car, I can see the case, but it would have nothing to do with driving experience, love or passion.

    no offence meant...

Don't worry, I'm not offended at all. We're all petrol heads who own 'F's. If I was bothered by others opinions I wouldn't have posted it here. This is the opposite of the cares we own.

I can however give an unvarnished unfiltered perspective of having one and using it in anger. I'm genuinely impressed by the performance of the thing. Performance brakes however are a lie. They would need upgrading if you wanted to do anything near a track. Also the seats despite being comfy offer nothing in the way of holding you in place.

Being used to 250 miles out of a tank, the Battery range is on a par, so I'm not hyper mileing it. The insurance premiums may turn out to be a blessing, because I can see a lot of these being picked up cheaply and punted into a hedge, due to the power on tap.

so no problem registering then? How do you register the app, does the seller provide you with a password or something?

I have been thinking about a second use tesla and built quality and this type of small niggles always put me off.

So the previous sellers phone was deregistered. When you register a new one, you have to send a pic of your id and proof of ownership via the app.

Someone checks that and then approves.

Well done, enjoy and keep us posted.

How is quality and any software issues due to the fact you aren't the   first owner?

    Also any issues with insurance?

Tesla don’t use physical keys. You have 2 credit card keys registered to the car which you can pair and unpair.

You can register a mobile phone in the app and once you send proof of identification and ownership you’re added on as an owner.

This then allows you to control the car and schedule when you want it ready for in the morning, it will heat itself up and precondition the Battery. The phone acts as the key, and will work to unlock and lock the car based on proximity. I’ve also activated pin to drive, as an extra layer of security, which means the car asks for a pin before it will move.

There was a software update available when I picked it up. Having built in Netflix, Disney and YouTube along with the main streaming music apps means it’s not a chore to spend time in

Insurance was a big jump, it’s in the top group of insurance and cost me £1300 compared to the £563 I paid in April for the isf.

  10. I’d been debating getting an EV for the last few months ironically off the back of getting a UX ev the last few times I’ve had visits to Lexus. I have a free charger at work, so the financial benefits were obvious.

Only issue I had was it was a bit small and the range was pretty bad when I used them. I did start looking at what I could jump out of my ISF into and not lose the will to live.

I liked the Jag iPace, Polestar 2 dual motor and the Tesla model 3 performance. After a bit of shopping around I picked up a 3 yr old model 3 performance with only 9.5k miles on it.

The jump from analogue to digital is eye opening to say the least. With no theatre, gates of hell opening or wheel slip the acceleration is the most savage I’ve experienced. The instant response and rapid acceleration will take some getting use to.

Things I didn’t expect, the Tesla is actually lower stanced than the ISF. It’s very planted with virtually no body roll although I’ve not really took it on many twisties yet. But the extra weight has not been noticeable at all. Oh and the stereo is hands down the best factory car stereo I’ve ever heard. I thought the Mark Levinson we had was good, but this is amazing.

The ISF is up for sale, but I suspect I’ll have it for a few weeks yet so will be able to compare the two more thoroughly. I’ll take some pics when the weather is better and they’re both clean.

  11. My car was missing service history when I purchased it in 2018. However the previous owner spent £4k at Lexus on having everything being put right including a new radiator before I bought it, so I was happy to take the risk.

Once I had it serviced and Lexus Birmingham had seen it, I was able to purchase 2 years warranty, which I thought was pretty great at the time. Never had to use it mind. I've built up 5 years of Lexus Service history since.

  12. Those of us of a certain age will recognise the analogy of 'triggers broom'

It's not that I distrust Toyota, but the owners before me. Plus my car was the Evo review car.

I have noticed smoother/qukcker gear shifts from cold in the few days It's been done. Although I expect the gearbox has been reset so it's probably in learning mode.
