  1. Hi I've not had that pipe block up but have had a few blocked up egr coolers but it usually brings up p0400 code .gets full of soot. We used to send them to be cleaned out at local engineering shop who had a big hot degreasing machine that works under pressure Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  2. Hi did they put enough gas in the system? I'm assuming that your ls has rear a/c Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  3. Hi you'll find the condenser in front of the radiator check for any oily stains on condenser and around pipe joints or damage to condenser fins etc. Have had a few compressors leak from front seal have you had it filled to check the operation of the a/c system? If it has got a leak you can fill it with nitrogen to find it not refrigerant Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  4. Hi did a few of these when I worked at lexus main dealer a few years ago. Underneath the car on the ns there is a plastic cover and the rear a/c pipes join there ( 2 unions one 19mm and another 24mm if if I remember correctly ) we used to cut the pipes further back towards the rear and remove the front pipes and take to a local a/c specialist who soldered them up then refit the pipes(leaving the rearmost pipes in place ) and regas the system. Only the front a/c works but it got cold enough. I still work on one of the ls430,s and a/c still works ok Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  5. Well I have had loads of these fall off mk 1 rx and never had a problem. It looks like the bracket has come off with it too so if you wanted to replace it you would req the centre section of the exhaust. Very expensive from lexus Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  6. Hi it looks like a vibration damper that is fitted to the exhaust I think it's on the centre section. Don't worry it shouldn't case any issues Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  7. Yes I think it was about £450ish a year strange that auto is cheaper!
  8. Hi dexy sorry you are having a load of grief! That Is 250 sounds ok not much goes wrong with those is I manual or auto? I think auto drives a lot better and road tax is cheaper! I too have had lots of people complain about them too they just want to take your money and then you are on your own!
  9. Hi dexy sounds like it may have damaged the head and block if that's the case will need new engine!
  10. You will have to let us know how you get on
  11. Yes you would have thought that the pre sales check would have picked up a problem as it has been faulty for a while staining on engine covers and pressuring the cooling system etc
  12. Yes lexus told us it was carbon build up causing head gasket issues but whoever strips the engine needs to check the head surface and the block surface for damage where the gasket has blown. It may need a new cylinder head at least with the correct thickness gasket (usually the same as what came off) As I said earlier the heads cannot be skimmed we do try to in the earlier days but they didn't last too long before they went again
  13. Hi all we used to fit lexus recon engines to 220d when I worked at lexus in Sheffield as you cannot skim the head and when gasket goes it damages the block too. Sorry I can't be more help
  14. Fitted loads of towbar to 300 and 400h at main dealer with twin electrics or 13 pin socket was usually customer who specified which
