  1. Still got mine too, and I can't think of any reason to part either! Car's looking great. What's the control box on the center console for?
  2. Been looking at Panamera's recently. Big hatch might be suitable for the dog.
  3. Swapped my ISF for an RC today. Helping take it for it's service. The IS seems sedate in comparison. I forgot how good these are!
  4. Interesting thoughts, thanks for taking the time to give your impressions. I think you've been quite kind in your honesty. I've got an 11 plate, and have driven an 08 too. The ride is a bit more crashy on the older cars and I do enjoy the LSD, in damp conditions especially. No aftermarket exhaust for me, but have an intake and have disabled the second intake flap. Keeps that roar going from much lower down. I didn't like the pedal map either, so I fitted an Apexi throttle controller. Perfect now. I like a sensitive pedal. I think the shifting is pretty darn good on the whole and dont notice it change gears much at slow speed. It does sometimes get a bit confused, holding 1st for a bit longer than i think it should or reacting a bit slowly to a stomp from the right foot. ACC is good, but I have little experience of it in other cars, so for all I know it's terrible in comparison. I like that it was standard though, was a cost option for the RC-F. It's annoying it brakes on a motorway quite early if coming up to something though. I think it handles pretty darn well for what it is, keeps super flat in the corners and inspires confidence. Not much can keep up with me in the real world. It is a massive sleeper, but those who know, know. Makes receiving comments or thumbs up extra special. Never noticed noisy pumps? Maybe yours were a bit faulty?
  5. Interesting stuff. Do the US forums comment on the change over dates, or ways of identifying which rad you have? Does anyone know over there the improvements the newer rad brings? Might not make any difference to this issue. I'm hoping my '11 plate has already got an improved rad and not at risk (wishful thinking!).
  6. Would definitely be interesting to see if it's only '08 cars. Are there any known to have failed on younger cars. Could put that "early batch" theory to test.
  7. So those who are getting this changed as a precaution, can you share more details. Is this something your local Lexus is doing? Mine's an '11 plate with 45k, I think I'm OK for another year or so. But would rather get it changed than it fail.
  8. Also - If you're looking for any auto box repairs and don't want to use Lexus, I can recommend Transmission Technology not too far from us in Knowle. https://goo.gl/maps/kk8ahkULbR81DJA27 Not had any Lexus repaired by him, but Ken really knows his stuff.
  9. Rich - Can you get Dan at lexus to drain the gearbox oil and tell you if it's been contaminated with coolant or not. If it hasn't, there's more confidence that the gearbox will be OK. Perhaps will make your decisions easier.
  10. Lovely. Enjoy. Suspension might be the newer version if it's a 2010 plate. Which definitely rides better.
  11. There are two heat exchangers. Air to oil which you've found, and an water to oil in the main rad.
  12. Rich - If you do go with Coventry, don't forget to ask for your 15% gold member discount.
  13. I think there's an liquid to liquid cooler, water and oil. I assume the heat exchanger failed and allowed transmission oil and coolant to mix.
  14. Ouch. Was it a failed pipe? Perhaps perished with age? Keep us posted on the developments and photos if you can. I'd like to be able to check mine for signs of ageing. Would be interested in preventative maintenance as well. I use Coventry dealership too, so would be interesting to see if they could offer something like this based on their experience.
  15. Sorry to hear. What is the issue specifically? How much have they quoted you?
  16. Only from heat soak at lower speeds, from what I understand. But in our climate, I dont think that's much of an issue. Happy to be educated otherwise though.
  17. I've got an aftermarket intake and deactivated the flap, it growls a lot more low down!
  18. You're likely to get a biased opinion in favour of the ISF here. For obvious reasons. C63 will sound better, the F is more refined. An exhaust will be a little over £1k which would bring them in line. Running costs and reliability is better with Lexus, as is the rarity. If you're buying based on sound system, you're looking at the wrong cars. The ML is a decent system, good clarity and balance. But it's not the best I've heard. You'd want to change amp, add a proper sub and probably new head unit to improve. Just changing speakers isn't going to get you very far.

  20. Decent MPG! I clocked up over 2,300 miles around europe a couple years back in one week. What are peoples highest road trip miles?
  21. They should do you a good deal if it's a new product. I'm guessing you'll be lending them your vehicle for their development? Normally they'd give if you it for half price or something, as they have not had to source a vehicle to use. From then on people can buy them off the shelf for full price without the need to visit them.
