  1. Will I need to replace both sides or one side will do? And should I replace shock absorber, end link or anything else? What brand of parts do you recommend and where to get them from ?
  2. Hi. I noticed today that on a flat surface the near side rear gap between wheel and arch is much less than off side rear wheel and arch. Is it a bad spring ? Will it fail mot? Thanks
  3. The battery suggestion did not work. At this point I am confident that it has something to the fact that security module is not behaving as should. I looked that the yellow security module in the boot but everything visually looks fine.
  4. Does anyone know common ground locations? Wondering if it could be poor connections.
  5. Does anyone know where the key recognition module and the security alarm is located in the car? Wondering if some ice or water caused an issue. The alarm noise seem to come from boot.
  6. I don't have any Lexus Centre locally. Only have Toyota. Might have to get it on a recovery truck.
  7. Thanks Nemesis. Bosch Battery bought in March 2018. Bosch S4026 S4 068 Car Battery 4 Years Warranty 70Ah 630cca 12V Wow... I bought it for 68 pounds and now it is for 128. I don't know if it is the battery because it does start the car and lights turn on. Start motor sound is the usual. And when I checked the voltage it was 12.33 before starting. I have put it on charge and will get a replacement regardless. Tempted to order tech stream from ebay but now sure which is the right one. And it might take a while to come due to industrial actions. Please keep the inputs coming.
  8. Lexus is250 March 2009. Today I noticed AFS OFF Amber light flashing and on stopping the car, doors did not unlock. Anyway I stopped the car and did my chores. Went back home. Check AFS again on. Noticed wind screen washers not working. Filled up the washer fluid only to find there was plenty in there. It started to work though. Later now I wanted to go to store and the car will not unlock with keyfob. Thought might be batteries and replaced. Still won't work. Got another set of keys. Still wont work. Manually opened the door using the mechanical key. Alarm set off. I am able to start the car but alarm remains on and beeping. AFS OFF light remains blinking amber. Main beams are on and I cannot turn them off. Wipers don't work. Can't open any door as it tries to lock itself. Wth just happened? I disconneted the main battery and left for ten minutes. Even with battery disconnected the alarm is making noise. How is that possible? Is there a second battery? The main battery voltage is set to 12.33 volts. I can start the car but alarm is on and security red light is blinking and AFS OFF is blinking. I don't have any other car and this was my mode of transport. Please help.
  9. Someone else will suggest better. But the amount that can seep through rocket cover gasket will be very little. And it will get burned off as it makes its way via spark plugs. My 2009 is consuming oil and I only wish it be the rocker cover but doubt I will get off the hook that easily. I won't bother changing anything if there is no visible oil consumption.
  10. In my experience with other cars, there is no real advantage to changing the rocker cover gasket.
  11. This service was at 7k miles. I changed filter every time. Been using Magnetic A5 5w30. Might be unrelated but I noticed that the engine light turned off after the oil change. The engine light was for P0420 and P0430. I also have identified source of exhaust leak and during idling water drips from the area. Its where the back exhaust meets the mid section on the off side.
  12. I had topped it up by a litre not too long ago as I had seen some warning message about oil for a fraction of a second.
  13. I think the is250 is consuming oil. I drained the oil today and less then 5.5 litre came out. I replaced the oil filter as well. Car had failed emissions on lambda values as well. Is it related ? Never thought I would see this day. Car's been always serviced on time. Sad day.
  14. Is250 2009. It had a change maybe nearing 50 k miles years back. When does it need the next one? It is sitting at 90k miles now. Is ECP OK place to buy them? Thanks
  15. Anyone knows the part number of the lambda sensor? Thinking of order that plus the mid exhaust section. Don't have a local lexus and will be using PN at Toyota. How many would I need ? Thanks
  16. So that's where I get confused. When I changed oil last year I put in 7 litre oil and still it wouldn't move. Then few weeks back I saw a message about oil warning in red on dash LCD but it went away fast. So I checked the dip stick and the same result. So I filled in a litre more. And this is what the dip stick shows. I have cleaned it many times now. Car has failed on MOT lambda value. I have seen engine code p0420 and p0430. So I need to understand if the engine is consuming oil.
  17. Can you guys please look at this video and suggest what level oil is at? Thanks. 20220419_095919.mp4
  18. Hi Linas By rotate I mean left goes to right. They are staggered wheels so I cannot put fronts to back.
  19. Thanks guys. Got so many replies today. Much appreciated. - MOT was done at halfords who gave the advisory - I checked and had replaced front two years back. So it has been a while now. I replaced rears last year and confused it with them - I rotate tyres on yearly service - I keep rear 41/42 PSI and front 39/40 psi. There is slow leak on one of the front tyres due to wheel corrosion so it has been driven under inflated - I did the alignment today at kwikfit. Independents were off today and I hardly get time. - results are attached for the alignment -hardly any speed bumps the area
  20. I got advisory inner tyres wear is close to legal limit. The tyres have a lot of life in them. Bridgestone and had them no so long ago. Suggestions? Thinking of taking to kwikfit for check and get it done there.
