Hi Mark! It really is a small world, I just joined the forum and saw your thread. The car really is lovely, I will start a thread on here at some point to track any changes.

    Hi Taj,

Glad you're enjoying the car, the F cars really are something special. The car has gone to a good home....😊, which slightly eases my depression after selling it 🤣.

No doubt I'll be back looking at an F in the near future!

Might be worth trying a couple of the Lexus dealers - potentially easier than a private sale, if they'll give you a number you're happy with.

From my point of view I didn't have the time or inclination to sell privately and I got a £ number I was happy with. Still sorry to see it go though.

Good luck with it - hope you get a good price.

Thank you, I doubt I'll get a decent offer out of Lexus, so I'll try a private sale first.

  3. Sadly, as I'm changing career (going back on the tools) the RCF is going to be sold, just need time to put together a full advert on here. I'd welcome any thoughts on a realistic sale price, I am realistic that the used car market for these cars is somewhat erratic. It's a 2015 car with FLSH. Just serviced and new MOT on 08.08.2022. 44,000 miles. alloys need a refurb. Many thanks.

The way everyone is going electric, give it six months and you could well find yourself getting a deal. Less and less people are looking for big capacity engine cars that are expensive to tax. Mix in the fact the cost of living, inflation, interest rate increases and it could soon be a buyers market!

I do understand your concerns, maybe I'm in the minority. Do you drive RCF?

Most of the crap is around the valve itself and not the pipe. If you unplug the connector and remove the 2 screws on the black plastic cover, does the rod move in and out freely or stick?

Do you get any vibrating? I did before I cleaned the EGR valve.

Thanks for your reply. The car does vibrate/rough idle. The pipe was gunked up, I would say 25% of the flow must have been reduced.

Is this a design fault of the valve, is it worth replacing the EGR valve for a newer part? I need to check rod!

  6. I'm wondering if anyone has experience anything similar. The car will be stationary and on Battery power (parked up), when the engine kicks backs in there's a mechanical creaking noise (sounds like a stiff valve or hinge). After a creak or two the engine kicks in and runs fine. A few months ago I cleaned the EGR pipe but this made little improvement, other than improving the MPG.

    Thanks in advance!

I think I have though? Within £1,000 pounds there are cars with significantly more miles and/or less good spec and/or questionable servicing/care...

...fortunately for me I am in no hurry but I certainly don’t feel I’ve priced it too high.

I completely appreciate that it’s a specialist proposition- any 20mpg v8 is right now, even more one with a non-German badge and less mainstream kerb appeal and even, even more one that looks like it’s had an accident in a Halfords parts department (I don’t think this is the case by the way).

I haven't seen your specific advert, just sharing my experience. If you're not in any rush just sit it out. 👍
