  1. I agree, my Mk3 GS450h had two, even my wife's brand new Suzuki has two. However, I believe the Mk4 Facelift cars had two reverse lights.
  2. Been reading on local social media that Carlisle and Penrith have experienced it today, with a few people saying the Shell station in Penrith has run out of fuel! It is interesting that there are a few BP stations here but they seem to be fine. I agree with statements above that it is the media (especially the print media) who have blown this out of all proportion, but hey, that sells newspapers and as an added bonus they can also inflict their own (or the proprietors) political view about it upon you.
  3. Having owned both I personally think the Mk4 is the better looking. The side on profile of both cars is very similar but I think the Mk4 looks better from the front and rear. I always thought that the main beam headlights on the Mk3 looked like an after thought styling wise. However, I have always thought Jaguar must have looked at the Mk3 for inspiration before they styled the XF. Their side on profiles are uncannily similar.
  4. I can't answer your question as to why your early LS460 (along with the early IS250 and GS300) is not compatible but this link from the RAC explains the damage that can be caused to an incompatible car https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/advice/emissions/what-is-e10-fuel-and-how-could-it-affect-you/
  5. I agree as everything I can find online states the Advance trim has sensors as standard and that the SE trim didn't. If this is true one has to ask is OP buying a genuine Advance model or a spec'd up SE?
  6. Hi @Leo00 and welcome to the club. Looks like you have got yourself a good car there with the low mileage and FSH. The CT appears to be an extremely reliable car so you shouldn't be concerned about this. Enjoy your car. 🙂
  7. This is exactly what happens. Lock the car and then within 5 seconds lock it again and the deadlocks are activated. This is irrespective of whether your model locks from the key fob or the touch pad on the door handles. In my experience the owners manuals do not mention this and I do not understand why.
  8. Good point. Also, as a safety measure, because of the high voltages needed to operate HID bulbs, to isolate the headlamp circuit I removed the fuse for each headlamp before removing the bulbs.
  9. I found this showed how easy it is to change the bulbs when I had my S3 GS. It's American so lhd but works exactly the same for cars that that drive on the correct side of the road! If though, as @OldTrout and @ZXSpectrum have considered above you are asking about changing the main beam bulbs, the owners manual covers this. Just be warned though, when I had my S3 GS every automotive bulb seller I encountered stated that the bulb I required is HB3. Unfortunately, unlike the S1 and S2 GS, which used the HB3 bulb, the S3 GS uses HIR1 bulbs and they have a different lug fitment to HB3
  10. @Enyaw Just like you Wayne I had only driven manual cars before I got my first Lexus GS with the cvt gearbox 10 years ago. Now I will not go back to a manual as an auto box makes for a more relaxed drive. However, the cvt transmission is totally different to a conventional auto as there is only one forward gear. This means there is no 'kickdown' when you floor the throttle as there are no lower gears to go to. As @joelfigueira rightly says you will need to adjust your driving style but it is surprising how natural this will happen. There are also three driving modes, eco, normal and sport and whichever one is selected determines the 'sharpness' of the throttle response. I have not owned a CT but I have had one numerous times as a courtesy car. It is a well built, well equipped and reliable small hatchback but in my personal opinion is the performance is underwhelming (although I admit that probably has something to do with driving one straight after driving a GS 450h) and I find the ride to be to firm and to harsh for my liking (again my opinion). However I still think it is a good car. There are a number of threads on the various model forums on this club's website were owners who have complained of a firm/harsh ride have alleviated the problem simply by changing the original tyres (usually Bridgestone) to another brand. Good luck with your search and when you find the right one I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
  11. If your model has this auto button you can set the mirrors to fold in automatically when locking the vehicle. If you haven't got it then the only way to do it is manually.
  12. I looked for a reply emoji to your post that would say WOW! Couldn't find it so I will just say WOW! again.
  13. With respect Lee from what you have said I don't think this car can be called half decent. Might sound harsh but that's my personal take from what you have written. And from the sounds of it the less said about the dealer the better! There are better cars, and dealers, out there but the truth is you may have to travel to find the right one. Also, I don't know if you are aware, but GS 300's registered after 23/03/06 are nearly £600.00 per year VED.
  14. As @Herbie states above Lexus servicing is 10k miles or 12 months, whichever comes sooner and I would also agree that unless you stick to the correct servicing schedule you probably won't get the 'free' 12 month warranty. As John @OldTrout correctly states the headlight bulb flickering means it is about to fail and this is not a warranty item. With regards to the car pulling to the left, have you checked the NSF tyre pressure? Maybe something as simple as that.
  15. My previous S3 GS had xenon headlights but only for the dipped beam with the main beam using halogen bulbs. However, my S4 has bi-xenon lights meaning both dipped and main beam are xenon powered. Can anyone therefore confirm the number of xenon headlight bulbs the S4 GS has please? I have checked the owners manual but it only states the type of bulb not the number installed. I think it is two but would like confirmation of this please as I want to fit some uprated bulbs. Many thanks
  16. Thank you for explaining. Totally agree As above
  17. With a very right wing conservative government? Please explain?
  18. I was just stating what the service book states but @johnatg has given you the reason why.
  19. I don't have an answer for you Phil but it might be better asking this question in the RX forum as I have observed over the years many members do not look at forums outside own their model.
  20. Yes I did see that post! My point was if your car has a full Lexus service history the plugs would have been changed in 2018 during the six year service. As I stated the plugs are changed every 60,000 miles or 6 years, whichever comes first. You need to check from what service history you have that they have or have not been changed.
  21. Good news about the brakes but why does it need spark plugs. Have you asked them to change the plugs because your car has hit 60,000 miles? According to my service book the spark plugs should be changed every 60,000 miles or 6 years, i.e whichever is the soonest. Has your car got a full Lexus service history? If it has this should have been done with the 2018 service and the dealer should be able to confirm this. My car has a full LDSH and when I log in to https://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/about-my-lexus/my-lexus-portal/ it shows my car had the 'major' 60,000 / 6 year service done on 29/11/18 even though it just had a little over 32,000 on the clock. That major 60,000 service was done by a Lexus dealer and I know that the plugs were changed as part of that service.
