Wosket Regarding the hours being worked and alterations to them you need to have a look at your conditions of employment you should have received when you first joined the company. It's suprising what a company can slip in and before you do anything I would suggest taking a look at it first and see what you have actually signed as agreement between you and the company. Having signed it you may be struggling if they ask you to alter your working day length of working day etc, as it may be part of conditions of employment. From what I remember don't quote me as I may be out of date but you must have at least 30 minutes break after the first either 4 /5 hrs and and 15 minutes after that but how long after I cannot remember. What I do know is that lunch/tea breaks are not as long as one expects in law. Realspeed

RX300 se registered in Nov 2001 now has 26,000 on the clock Miles per gallon arond the houses approx 21 Miles per gallon motorway approx 28 at 60-70 mph above this speed watching out for speed traps not mpg. ha ha only joking as I tend to try to stay within motorway speed limits. Realspeed

I have a lexus RX300se Mark 1 purchased from wolverhampton and serviced by them. I noticed today that the rear wiper rubber has a split in it an halfords cannot supply a replacement due to the curve or summit, so I rang Wolverhampton Lexus to see it they had a replacement blade in stock. It seems that this part has to be ordered and won't get it in for 2/3 days. Surely such a simple but necessary part would be an "on shelf" item like they used to be. After all the part retail is only £22 odd. I know that companies supply on demand but surely a wiper blade should be a stock item. Realspeed

Thanks Mitch for the welcome, still trying to find my way around the site so may tend to post under the wrong heading ( only cause i'm thick). On the hybred thing I prefer the suggestion of a diesel option maybe cause I am used to it more. Personally the congestion charge doesn't affect me as I don't live near anywhere near London, but what I find strange is I do live close to the new Birmingham Motorway toll road and I hear that some toll booths charge car prices £3 for 4X4's, yet others charge £5 as with commercial light vans. Hi all Guess I must be the new guy on the block. So a bit about myself, at the moment I own a RX300SE first registered in November 2001 which I purchased from new from Lexus Wolverhampton. My average milage is around 13000 per year and get about 20 mpg around the houses and 28mpg motorway driving. I plan to purchase a new vehicle towards the end of the year when the warrantee runs out (can't be bothered with the MOT thing) I have test driven the Rx 300SE-L and very impressed with it ,however I do have a quandry as I am looking at the BMW X5 diesel as well. I love the car I have at the moment and the backup, ie servicing etc is first class, however, It may be a trival thing but why on earth don't lexus put a diesel model in their RX 300 series lineup, this I believe would be a serious threat to BMW X5 sales (better fuel consumption, claimed around 30 mpg on the BMW diesel) and the reversing camera , well if you can't reverse without it then how did you pass the driving test? the idea of having a TV instead seems to me so much more attractive as in the BMW. However I do like the come with all the bells and whistles on the Lexus which are extras on the BMW therefore adding a lot to the basic price. One of the things that will also sway me as to which I go for is the trade in value of a 3 yr old RX300Se the psp will be paid outright in a few weeks time. So any ideas on What trade in values are for this mark 1- 3 yr old model? I am also taking into account the part x again in another 3 yrs time, which would hold its value the most lexus or BMW When I decided to have a tow bar fitted their was no problem in getting the actual bar fitted but no tow bar company would touch fitting the electrics side of it, something to do with the engine management system? and in the end I had to go to a main dealer at a cost of £700 if my memory serves me correctly. Which I thought at the time was a tad expensive, BMW quote the same cost on the X5 Ok hands up due to the long waiting period approx 12-15 months, I have placed a deposit (returnable) for an X5 but as to purchasing it or not depends on an inheritance due shortly ( no I am as poor as the next guy) but decided to leave my options open for the present time. In the past I have owned a 4 Runner ( too light on the back end, tended to side about in the wet) -2 Landcruisers (could well be another option I take up well impressed except resale value), and a light ace van, so I am not new to Toyota and the high standards they work to, also owned a 1996 Range Rover Diesel ( complete load of rubbish , spent more time in the workshop than on the road, servicing cost 4 times more than any other 4x4). Also had Ford explorer (nice car but 4 ltr petrol had trouble telling petrol gauge from speedo, both moved at same speed, ha ha ), Isuzu Trooper Citation diesel ok car but heavy motorway fuel consumption being only a 4 pot- . So there you go a little about me my plans for the near future, my thoughts on new cars and what I have previously owned, in the way of 4x4's.
