  1. It should have had the big 60k service so thats good. Think a service plan is £28.50 a month from Lexus. Covers Mot / servicing etc. I've taken a service plan out over 3 years and a two year for the price on one warranty deal. Its expensive but will pay for itself if the shocks go or something bigger. Worth it IMO.
  2. Very similar mpg's in my experience so far. Overall average 31 ish so far. Mainly town driving with 60 - 80 mile drives every couple of weeks.
  3. I'd say there is a noticeable difference in body roll in sport mode but I guess it depends on how hard you push it.
  4. I wonder if the weight in the hybrid (batteries) over the rear axle will make it actually quite good in the snow. At least to get moving, maybe not stopping! We have winter tyres fitted but only had it a few months so no snow to test it out yet. I agree the IS wasn't the best in the snow.
  5. Ah its me being dim. Forgot that I was looking at 19" wheels and the standards are 18". Oops!
  6. How does it ride on the 18's compared to the standard 17's? What size tyres are you running?
  7. Oh and theres a little notice inside the boot (albeit on the older GS) that says do not jump start this vehicle!
  8. I think you'll have to ask Lexus. I think you'll have to trickle charge both the normal battery and the traction battery. I presume they would both be flat after 6 months sitting.
  9. As Daniel says, I believe that is a kind of gear change as such. I think you would notice it under hard acceleration but necessarily if you drove steadily past 70/80.
  10. Ah good point. Its a excellent idea, one I think I may be doing next year when I buy some aftermarket wheels.
  11. Did the sensors come off the old wheels okay. I love this idea but I'd be worried about them being corroded on?
  12. I did a bulb swap a couple of weeks ago. I only had it intermittent on the passenger side. Swapped the bulbs over and they've been fine since.
  13. Hi Tony, I have the same sort of issue on my GS450. It can be quite loud on a cold startup. I'm going to the dealer at the weekend for a Hybrid health check so I will ask about it.
  14. Just a update. I did this too and it seems to have worked. Fingers crossed no need for new bulbs yet.
  15. Hi Brian, I might give this a go as I noticed last night than one of the passanger side bulb was doing the same as you descibe. Do you have to discharge them first? I don't want to get a shock!
  16. Thanks guys. Took my wife on a driving lesson last night. To be fair she got use to it quite quickly even though it is a bit bigger than her old IS250. Shes gone to work in it today so hopefully she remembers how to use all the gismos!
  17. Finally bought a GS 450H. I've been looking for one for nearly 9 months now. Loving the GS so far, what a car! So smooth and quiet. Pity its my wifes car!
  18. Hi Carl, just a quick question as your in a unique position to answer this!

My wifes car is currently a IS 250 SEL. We are thinking of changing to a GS450H at some point. We've been for a drive in one but I was wondering if you could tell me what you feel the main differences are? I.E does the GS feel more of a barge to drive on B roads. Has the boot size ****** you off! etc.

    Cheers, Duncan

  19. I think your right in saying they have dual mass flywheels. The garage inspected the flywheel when the box was out of the way to put the clutch in and said it was okay, didn't seem to have any wear / no need to change. Haven't had any problems from not replacing it.
  20. Think it was a Blue Print Clutch kit. Seems to be doing the job okay.
  21. We had ours changed before Christmas. 75k. Clutch was never brilliant and we bought the car at 45k. Clutch plate was to the rivets but only slipping in 3rd and 4th under load. £650 for the complete job. Has made a big difference to pulling away. Always juddered unless in was 2k plus revs but now is a lot smoother.
  22. LS1 all day long. I've got one in my 99' Camaro coupled to a T56 6 speed. 308 RWHP and 315 RWFt/LB of torque. CAI and exhaust are the only engine mods. My main concern would be what other mods would you need, ie will the diff handle this power?
  23. I'm in the trade so I get it cheaper £16.50 ish + VAT. Asda did have it in stock under £20 but I've just checked and its no longer available.
