  1. I use Magnatec A5 5w30. Its not mega expensive, £18-20 for a 4 liter bottle.
  2. If its a manual I would turn it off once you are on a salted road. You can try it in the dry just to see how the car feels. Throttle response is sluggish but thats the point to reduce wheel spin.
  3. I think you probably will have to resort to a google search in your surrounding area. You haven't had it that bad. I had a tile blow of the roof onto my Camaro's roof. Luckily it hit between the rear glass and the t-tops on a panel no more the 6" wide! left some nasty scratches, got to have it resprayed :megaangry:
  4. Hi Maz, I'm in Shrewsbury. Where abouts are you? My wifes got a IS250 manual. We've just had to have the clutch changed at 75k. To be fair I don't think the previous owner drove it well. (2nd gear pull aways). However as suggest by others the Auto IS250 is the way to go. We'd have had one but my wife insisted on a manual!
  5. There's a couple of people who run small businesses repairing the batteries and giving a years warranty. I can't remember who it is on here but they run one of them. £800 ish.
  6. It might have sold if it wasn't the base spec. I can't believe the sold any of these without leather seats!
  7. Thats a lovely car, great colour. Very nice you must be smiling like a cheshire cat!
  8. I wonder why? Do you think most people don't even consider a hybrid and just go for a GS300?
  9. Hi guys, Thought I'd post a link to this one as it's just been dropped from £10.5k to 9k ! It's a base model so thats me out but it might be a go-er for someone else on here. As far as I can see from the gov mot checker it has sat for a couple of years doing next to no miles so I'm not sure if thats a problem or not? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201504293036907?price-to=11000&radius=1500&make=lexus&sort=default&maximum-mileage=up_to_70000_miles&model=gs_450h&onesearchad=used&search-target=usedcars&postcode=sy14el&page=1&logcode=p
  10. Yep almost all of the GS's I've checked have had the sticky calliper issue but its not new to me, IS suffers with it too. Can't believe yours had dodge tyres as well! How many people are driving round on knackered tyres! Its something I check reasonably regularly. Shocking!
  11. Very true but it's a good tool when you're looking at potential cars to buy. How many GS's have dodgy tires at MOT time! Not to mention shocks.
  12. I've been using this today, very usefull. https://mot-history.net/ Use it to check prior MOTs and advisory items.
  13. I like the Olive Green one and it's lower mileage, however it doesn't have cooled seats by the looks of it? I love the cooled seats in the IS. I'd see how much you can get chucked in warranty wise and get some money off.
  14. I managed to get the links to work from email here you go .... http://usedcars.lexus.co.uk/used-GS/GS-450h/3.5-SE-L/Nottingham/1833777-605025965-1609632.aspx?srcmdc=se_na_re_ http://usedcars.lexus.co.uk/used-GS/GS-450h/3.5-SE/Derby/1833776-605293285-1913663.aspx?srcmdc=se_na_re_
  15. duncan i see the one you were interested in now also on Autotrader. Yes its up for sale in numerous places now! According to the Lexus Used car site they have 3 offers so far. They haven't come back to me, but then again I did ask for 1k off!
  16. One is http://usedcars.lexus.co.uk/used-GS/GS-450h/3.5-SE/Derby/1833776-605293285-1913663.aspx?srcmdc=se_na_re_ whilst the other is http://usedcars.lexus.co.uk/used-GS/GS-450h/3.5-SE-L/Nottingham/1833777-605025965-1609632.aspx?srcmdc=se_na_re_ As they are only about 20 miles apart I may take a look at both of them on the same day. Hi Mike, Links not working for some reason?
  17. Hi Mike, I think different dealers have different deals on. Can you post a link to the cars your looking at? What I've found so far is they don't like to budge much on price! Got offered peanuts on a trade in too.
  18. I think you may have put the letter o in instead of a zero, it comes up all normal no nasties. Mike. Oops! My bad!
  19. Wow thats a lot of words! The colours, my eyes! Hmm something seems a little fishy though, just been on https://www.vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/Default.aspx and it doesn't come up. Not had this before?
  20. Yeah the Lexus site has got the colour and interior listed wrong for the one in Leeds and Edinburgh. They are the wrong way round! Nordic Blue is the light colour, Windsor Blue is the dark one.
  21. Mark, you like the Nordic blue? I'm right in thinking thats the real light (what looks to be purple)? I'm not bothered on colour too much as long as it isn't the light purple :yack: I'm with Aaron on the dark interior but gray could sway me. My wifes said no to cream and I'm on the same page. The only reason I want reasonable mileage is sell on value in a few years. We'd put 10-12k on a year.
  22. Seems like theres quiet a few of us on here looking for a GS450H. I've enquired about the one at Lexus Leeds at the moment but they don't want to drop the price. Currently £9990, best they could do was £9750! I've got a limit of £9k so I've had to walk away but it might be a good deal for someone else. Its a SE-L got everything on it. Mileage is proving to be a problem for me also. Ideally would like one under 50k miles but thats rare to see.
  23. Are you going to get stung on import duty or by parcel force with a supplementary delivery charge?!
  24. Hi guys, my wife currently has a 2006 IS250, we are looking to upgrade to a GS450H (first gen) sometime soon. Any advice on what to look for would be great. We have had a test drive in one at Lexus Wolverhampton, even though we couldn't afford the one they had. Very nice dealers! Cheers, Duncan
