  1. Sticking hand brake.

Same thing used to happen with my BMW when parked for +-2 weeks with handbrake on. Resistance and then a real thump. Since then, if I can, I avoid using the handbrake when car to be parked for a while.
  2. SatNav

Needing satnav while in Africa I downloaded to my Android phone the app Here Wego. An excellent choice –clear maps, no wifi or data usage necessary and clear spoken directions. Back home in UK I thought I would use this app instead of Lexus satnav, which I find difficult to use. Now the app’s map directions work fine but not the audio, spoken directions. Map audio and (Bluetoothed) phone work fine together until I switch to radio for a few miles. If I then try to switch back to map audio, no sound emerges. Radio and phone work fine at this stage but need to go visual with satnav. The app works perfectly with Bluetooth disabled; the change to radio while using the maps app seems to cut off the app’s Bluetooth connection. Hope my explanation makes sense. Has anyone any suggestions how to remedy this ?.
  3. More IS 300h on the road

The IS figures are a surprise. Perhaps the focus on hybrid/non diesel cars will reverse the trend. And although it is not really relevant I have just been in Cape Town and was amazed by the number of IS models I saw. Perhaps the world sales figures of IS show a healthier picture ?.
  4. Here's some more thanks Andrew, for the procedure to adjust the indicator flashes. Works great. The default of 3 flashes is just too quick,
  5. My First Mod.. Kind Of.. :)

Curious that the door protectors are not available in the UK from Lexus UK. With comparatively narrow UK parking spaces vs much wider US spaces you would think protectors would be a winner in the UK.
  6. My First Mod.. Kind Of.. :)

Like your door edge protectors. Where did you buy them? Not an import I hope !
  7. Ganzoom, I would be interested to know what reliability issues you had with your 3 series. In the 16 years that I owned two 320D, I had 2 blown turbos (fortunately both in Germany) but otherwise no problems. Not that the turbo repairs were "minor". Was I just lucky with the rest? And not that I'm thinking of going back.!
  8. Thanks for the tip on how to access the rev counter. The car is full of surprises. Tried it out today on a lengthy trip. Interesting how low the car revs at high speed (75mph); from a long life perspective this must be a good sign for Rashi.
  9. Mr Vlad......where do I find the rev counter settings.? I can only find SetUp on the menu screen and no mention in that of rev counter. Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong area ??
  10. The front passenger seat in my 300h is used virtually only on long distance (holiday) trips. Does anyone know if the driver and passenger seats are interchangeable ? If the driver's seat starts to wear too much can it can be 'swapped' with the passenger seat ?
  11. USB Port

If it makes anyone feel any better, I have had my 2015 IS for nearly 2 years and have only now found the lighter socket, thanks to the above thread. It is certainly well camouflaged. Never too old to learn!
  12. Automatic light reaction

Its a dilemma. Want the lights to come on quickly at tunnel entrances but don't want the lights to be turning on/off on country roads shaded by trees. Going to start with +1 and see how this works out.
  13. Automatic light reaction

Thanks for the information. Hadn't thought of looking in the manual or that this function would be customisable. Have now gone up one notch (range is minus 2 to plus 2) as I assume up means more sensitive. We'll see!
  14. In the past 3 months I have been through a number of (French) tunnels of varying lengths. Headlights were set on auto but I noticed that the headlights of cars behind came on far quicker. Mine seemed to take longer to react and also to take some time to switch off after leaving the tunnel. In some cases did not switch off at all even on sunny bright days. I don't know what is 'normal'. Does anyone have experience of repeated on/off situations and the reaction speeds?
  15. Boot Size

It's the one drawback for us . Two oldies and we (I) never manage to fit everything in the boot. BMW is better in that respect. But at least the seats fold down and can be used as additional luggage space.
