  1. Is that the side stay for the rear seatbelts? Could be 73371A in this diagram possibly: TOYOTA HARRIERACU35W-AWPGK - BODY - SEAT BELT CHILD RESTRAINT SEAT | Japan Parts EU (japan-parts.eu) Although I'm usually crap at this game so no promises!
  2. Having a bit of hassle finding a standard replacement for our broken one, has anyone got a decent used backbox going spare? To suit 2002 MCU15 RX300 please. Might have to get jiggy with the welder at this rate..
  3. Good result in the end David and that's what matters 🙂 Also sounds like you saved a few quid which is bonus!
  4. Ah, that explains it, bit of an odd situation to be put into. Would have thought the garage repairing it should have stated the exchange nature when quoting for the work. It might leave you out money if the original seller is only refunding their invoice once they get the faulty unit back?
  5. They have probably sourced a refurbished unit on an exchange basis. If they don't exchange the old unit against the new unit then a surcharge would be required. It's a good business model in that the old unit is refurbished and is sold on bringing another used unit in and the process can continue. Seen it used on alternators, water pumps, brake calipers, even engines, etc.
  6. Hi Lucas, Here's images of the wheels and the valves. Ideally would like black or silver instead of the blue. If you could advise on price/availability please.
  7. Will do, they have been sitting about for a while and lost air so prime suspect is the valves or a bit of corrosion. Them being blue I don't mind swapping them out. Will grab a pic over the weekend - thank you!
  8. Hi Lucas, that's a lot of temptation right there! 😍 I've owned quite a few used sets over the years and can only echo the quality mentioned. Just on that, I've a set of old Versus on my RX350 that might need valves - I know it's not a set of wheels but are you guys able to source those on their own?
  9. From what I can see in that image David, the circuit board is present so you should be safe enough.
  10. Yeah, my research went as far as checking the part numbers so the Harrier rear lights are technically the same units. It's just I was a bit thrown by the missing LED boards. Few pics to show the bits in detail: I'm hoping the board is simply held in with those two torque bolts This is a pic of the Japanese unit which is missing the board: You can see there are still two regular bulbs involved as per the diagram:
  11. Morning David, I managed to have a poke at this one yesterday thinking that the lense might be removable but it appears that the unit is glued together so heat would be required to split it. Seeing as these ones are without the circuit boards it would make more sense to purchase the complete one from eBay - at least that would give you one less thing to worry about when replacing the lamp. Swapping this bit looks awkward as access to the screws that hold it is restricted. Hopefully the images above should save you a few quid on the fitting at least! If you hit any difficulties give me a shout back 🙂
  12. Oh and you might need to ask if it fits the RX400 bumper, I think the front bumpers are a slightly different design to the regular 300/350.
  13. Can't seem to find them on eBay at the minute but here's a quick google image: Really bad angle, doesn't look too bad on the car. It's only metal effect plastic so fairly light. Part number was PZ415-K0951-00, I paid £79.99 delivered before Xmas. EDIT: Lexus RX Phase 2 Front Under Run | PZ415-K0951-00 | Lexus Parts Direct seems to be in stock (Mods please remove if such links aren't allowed)
  14. Nice find, as you say, pricey is right! I've settled for one of the Lexus front under-run panels (will be fitted when my crumpled 350 gets repaired) as it was relatively cheap on ebay. The front bumper just needs something to drop the chin IMO. I sickened myself looking at kitted Harriers in Japan, will have to settle myself with UK spec. When it comes to insurance make sure you declare EVERYTHING lol. If they can argue your car looked more enticing to a thief then they will use it to squirrel out of a claim. I run a few modified cars and Adrian Flux needed full details, even down to any decals that were fitted. Best to be safe when insurance is involved.
  15. Hi David, You possibly can change the lense piece once the unit is removed, it would certainly make things easier than swapping the circuit board by the looks of it. Let me have another look at them this weekend to see what's possible. These are spares so I can always fire what you need in the post then we can square up via paypal if need be. I'll report back after I've looked into it. Cheers, Jay
  16. Would love a kit (definitely in a minority on here) but I've never found a source for them in the UK/Ireland. Those seem to be based on the Japanese factory options so you might find a kitted Harrier import floating around somewhere if you keep an eye on Gumtree/ebay/autotrader that's similar. Exterior mods usually don't make much sense for resale, add paint and fitting and you are spending quite a chunk of money. I doubt it'll add anything to the value of the vehicle so the outlay would be wasted. Still tempted myself though!
  17. Got my answer at last so updating the thread. As suspected I took the EFI fuse out and cranked the engine over until the oil pressure light went out. Then fuse back in and she fired up. No odds noises, backfires or explosions so we're elected! Oil and filter change before anything else I think.
  18. Apologies for the delay. I managed to spend a bit of time on Monday with the vehicle, under-estimated the faffing about required. Battery was dead after two years idle but I managed to get it fired up in the end. Right, mixed results. Firstly I took a few pics to guide you through what's involved in replacing. Remove the trim inside the boot compartment: Disconnect the three connections (the two bulbs just twist out and the connector unclips): The lamp is held by three 10mm nuts which just need undoing, two pictured and one out of shot: Tools involved: Lamp loose: And out, you can see the three threaded bars to aim for once it's out: It's a bit fiddly for access, especially if you have digger buckets for hands. Be careful not to drop any of the 10mm nuts into the quarter panel. There's a gasket between the lamp and body so it might need swapped across to your replacement lamp. Bad news is I think we can rule out the lamp set I got from Japan as there's a circuit board missing. Wouldn't want to add to the hassle by selling something that isn't complete. Looks like I'd need to swap it across from old units to make them work. Shame as they are in decent nick: Is it just the lenses you need of is your housing damaged too?
  19. Well in short I brought a second hand set in from Japan to fit to my RX which could be surplus to requirements now. I can grab a few pics next time I'm in the yard (poor car has been crashed into and is awaiting repairs). Will also take a few pics to guide you through fitting a fresh lamp whilst I'm at it for information purposes. Pretty certain you only need a 10mm socket and 5 minutes to swap one in but will update over the weekend. I would agree with you that used parts are hard to find for these machines, a good testament to their reliability but it certainly makes things difficult to source!
  20. Hi David, Are yours similar to these? If so might have an option..
  21. First time I hit the speed limiter I thought I'd blown the engine up.. proper brown moment
  22. Was just about to post that all my imports are insured via Adrian Flux, found them very straightforward and easy to deal with compared to some of the other specialists for import insurance. As for the speedo conversion I wouldn't bother. Have always preferred to keep mine in KM without muddying the waters with miles involved but that's probably just me.
