  1. £4950 now. Reduced . A bargain for someone? Serviced mainly by Lexus dealers!
  2. Looking to buy an LS430 so my low mile, good condition RAV 4 will soon be available. (is this allowed on a Lexus site?) if not, ditch the ad! The RAV is in lovely condition;took me a while to find a good one as most have rust issues. was hoping my wife might occasionally drive it, but…..no go. So…… Then along comes a nice 430 to tempt me back to Lex! 71K miles, leather interior, auto ,mainly Lexus service history,MOT August. £6450 to LC MEMBERS. £6750 elsewhere. So,if you’re looking for a good 2nd car……these 3 door cars seem to have acquired a cachet and are sought after. Car in Bristol.
  3. I’m holding on to info that there’s a good custom fabricators just over the hill from me, for the day I get an LS430.
  4. Car and classic site have a lovely Citroen cx Prestige that I’d have once I won on ERNIE.
  5. I’ve always thought that a Toroid tank, situated in the wheel well in boot, was the best solution. But, having seen a 430 using a ‘cylinder’ located just behind the rear seats, it looks as if there’s still quite a useable boot space. i don’t know the capacity of this cylinder-does anyone have lpg using this? I might be converted! All I have do is sell my RAV 3door car and I’ll be back to Lexus!
  6. Set right thought the sound system in the LS400 was the best he’d heard. As a music/hifi fan,it’s a large part of my liking the cars.
  7. You need a 1948 Cadillac fast-back! There are some Japanese import Lex 600s about,at lower price; I spied a lovely white on for…..£8K, if I remember correctly. not as many folk want big cars,to our benefit!
  8. Spent a contented few hours reading this.many thanks. Thinking of getting an LS 430 (to complete the set….ser 2 then 3 then….) need to shift my RAV4 first.(3 door Ser 2 car ,silver,71K miles) nice maroon lpg car on Autotrader…or the ‘slight panel damage’ 50K mile blue one on t’bay. Chris in Bristol.
  9. Just checking for 2 430s. A 2001 car is no charge. A 2005 car IS charged!! Any logic?
  10. VERY interested! Will contact you. (hope I’m not too late!!) Chris in Bristol
  11. Pedantically…..not on one FRONT wheel! But cudos for witty response! Im thinking of getting an RX but ,if insurers are penalising for theft history -as mentioned earlier -I might think again ( or….remove a wheel?.) i can’t justify cost of a DS23……but I’ve owned 4,so have memories
  12. Excuse if repeated…..I resorted to removing a front wheel of my Citroen DS each night, as deterrent. Hassle? Of course, but not THAT much……was in 1984.
  13. Yes, my Father drove a 404 in Zimbabwe. Crazy roads in 64! (It's nor 'Air' suspension.) A DS won the Dakar rally (almost) I recall. I love the Oli-was looking at another LS but I might just wait......
  14. Absolute tosh! As the resident Citroen owner here......I've owned 15 hydroneumatic Citroens over 30 years and never once have I had hydraulic problems. Never! It's become an urban myth that the suspension was dodgy, spread by jealous rivals -and re-hashed by ignorant followers. THe suspension was great and the concept of powered brakes, steering and suspension worked a treat. Have you ever owned or driven one, John? Both DSs and CXs have been converted to electic power and are fantastic!.
  15. Yes, one begins to read about 'things that go wrong' too much! I recently was offered a Citroen C6 for £3K- 80K miles, new set of Pirellis and all; but....£600 tax, plus reputation for electrical gremlins put me off. Love the style, but.....
  16. WAtch out for 'speed bumps'!! .....and on Britain's lousy road surfaces.......
  17. ....and you step out onto the pavement! I drove a LHD car in the 80s daily (Citroen Dyane!) with no trouble. Foot to the floor, change on the fly..... (Like the hifi?)
  18. Which is why I'm resisting one of these https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/WTkAAOSwamZhdT61/s-l1600.jpg and getting tempted by another Ser4. If only I could squeeze an LS into a C6......
  19. Typo, David? Think you mean 245/50....? 70s WOULD be comfortable! I read elsewhere that the (standard) Springs were no longer available-anyone know?
  20. So....how much would that cost? my ser 4 was standard and I'm tempted to get another, but ride quality important- the smoother the better. (I'm selling a 45K mile 1.5 auto Smart Forfour (07) just because of the harder ride.) Would just changing springs be enough, on a DHP car?
  21. I'm about to sell my Smart Forfour (07 model) for no other reason but its hard ride. How is the ride of the IS? I'm not expecting an LS 400 equivalent but, with the state of our roads, I'm thinking of a Xsara Picasso, just for the comfort. I don't need an LS size car now, or Messi would have a customer (Sale page!) I'd guess that the ISs ride much harder than LSs' given their sportier image? Any observations welcome (not about Picasso's!)
