  1. Hi John, No you can’t switch it off, it’s an inherent feature of a hybrid and how they work, the car will work out what it needs to do and when so you will find the ICE will stop and start at various times, not just when you stop at the traffic lights😀 hope that helps Kev
  2. Hi Ben, I don’t pretend to know about the different oils but doing a quick search on Snow leopard oils I found the document below on their product along with an explanation of the ND11 oil type from another site. it would seem you need MRL85 from Snow Leopard range if I have read it correctly but I’d check with your intended AC specialist to confirm. What is ND-oil 11? ND-oil 11 is a so called Polyol Ester Oil. (POE oil) ND-oil 11 is used in the DENSO electric driven scroll compressors, because POE oils have a very high isolation resistance. POE oil is less hygroscopic, compared with PAG oils. However, POE- and PAG oil react differently on water ingress. https://primalec.co.uk/resources/Primalec-Air-Conditioning-Solutions-En.pdf hope this is of some help. Kev
  3. Hi Roland, you can purchase a satnav update for your car from here….and just search for Lexus one the main page opens, I believe you need a Gen7 version update which, at £59.00, is quite competitive versus a main dealer doing it for you. https://www.satnavishop.co.uk other members have used the site and confirmed how easy it is to use. hope that helps. Kev
  4. Hi Laura, Your sat nav version is the same as mine which I’ve updated a number of times now, it’s quite easy to do and can be update yourself but you need the following items first…. a 64GB USB drive which must be formatted with FAT32. a PC to download and unzip the update files too. (These are what an earlier post calls the 5 discs) its a pretty straight forward process but you will need to have the car running whilst the system is updated and I believe this is why having dealer apply the update is so expensive. My last update cost me round £78.00 I have purchased my updates from this website.. https://toyotamaps.online/ They also provide instructions on how to identify what version sat nav you have along with determining which version of maps you currently have installed. You will need to send them those details as part of the process so they can provide an updated version to you. I also believe other forum members have successfully used this site as well… https://www.satnavishop.co.uk/lexus-25-c.asp I hope this helps but shout if you need any further info on doing an update. kind regards Kev
  5. The AA have clearly increased their policy prices as I’ve just completed a new quote for my policy and it’s now £220.00 which is a huge increase on the £94.50 I purchased in February. I have single car, roadside, at home, onward travel and national recovery which covers my needs although my email does say it includes a discount of £221.43 which combined with my actual premium suggests the starting price was more than todays quote. ultimately, for me, it comes to finding the policy benefits you want/need at price your happy to pay and this may dramatically differ from someone else’s perspective.
  6. I had my renewal through at £155 which I felt was a bit high so went direct to AA and had a fairly comparable quote, single car, any driver, for £94 which I felt was a reasonable price for peace of mind whilst out and about. My policy started at the beginning of February so I guess they mayhave done a reprice for cover since then which is reflected in some of the prices other members have experienced above. In the last 5 years, I’ve used the breakdown service once for a failed battery so not exactly high dependency on it hence wanting a lower price than my Lexus renewal price.
  7. I agree Herbie but I believe Flashback32 only joined yesterday so maybe they did not have an account when they first clicked on the link hence the issue which they joined to raise.. But only they can confirm it… either way it works once your logged in and that’s all that matters really I guess, I assume admin don’t want to give ‘butterfly’ access to such documents without people creating an account.
  8. The link does not function unless you are actually logged into this forum first….the error message definitely appears otherwise as experienced by Flashback32….
  9. Your welcome Carole, feel free to shout if you need my further help. I much prefer using my built in sat nav, twice the screen size of most mobiles and better than faffing with a mobile whilst driving, I’ve been on the same trip as other people using waze and followed the same route so there’s no obvious difference to me. The maps get updated yearly and for me that is sufficient whilst I find postcode driven destinations work a treat. Other solutions can be expensive and unless your technically minded, need to be installed by a specialist but at the end of the day it’s an individual subjective choice that it’s yours to make. Cheers Kev
  10. Hi Carole, I think your nav version is the same as mine which can be updated yourself but you need the following items first…. a 64GB USB drive which must be formatted in FAT32. a PC to download and unzip the update files too. I have purchased my updates from this website.. https://toyotamaps.online/ They also provide instructions on how to apply the update to your car. I also believe other forum members have successfully used this site as well… https://www.satnavishop.co.uk/lexus-25-c.asp There are numerous discussions on this forum about updates, if you search for them they might provide further information for you. hope that helps. Kev
  11. Hi Dan, my understanding is the monthly payment, if you chose that option, is calculated to ensure there is enough money in the ‘pot’ to cover the cost of each service as it falls due, if at anytime you decide to cancel the service plan then you get a full refund of monies paid minus the cost of any service already provided. hope that helps….
  12. Hi Ian, I have a service plan running (my 2nd one) which I pay monthly as it’s interest free, if I remember correctly, my local dealership priced it very competitively to the point it became a ‘no brainer’ not to purchase it It gives the added benefit of no increase in costs during its lifespan of 3 years which seems a perfect solution to me…. on my previous RX I initially used to just pay each service but then realised the benefits and took a plan out. The £1280.00 they have quoted you is the full current cost of an intermediate service@£325 , a full service @£630, followed by another intermediate @£325 so I’d try and haggle if you can to reduce those prices by 10% perhaps for being a gold member on the forum?
  13. You may well be right Peter and the mists of time have altered my memory😂
  14. Hi Alphacool, I Previously owned a 2009 400H Executive Limited Edition model and my mirrors folded on locking without issue, unfortunately I can’t remember exactly how to configure them do that but based on instinct I think it’s a menu item within the car configuration which is user controlled OR is controlled by the position of the mirror controls on the drivers door. I’m not sure what model you have or if the option was across all models but the option did/does exist…
  15. Hi Tom, You should be able to find the answer here…. https://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/servicing-and-maintenance/vehicle-service/?lexReferrer=https%3A%2F%2Fr.search.yahoo.com#pricing If you scroll down the page you’ll find the option to download each service guide and within these it lists everything for service and should tell you when the spark plugs need to be replaced on an RX Hope that helps.
