Hi Paul MVR Liverpool is the indi I am going to use , I have heard nothing but good stuff about him but I have to wait 3 weeks just for a service I was lucky enough to own a 4 year old LS430 , it was by far the finest car I ever owned , I only sold it as I ran into financial problems but what a motorway cruiser I now have the GS300 , it is not half the car of the LS430 Good luck and keep me informed if you find any Lexus stuff around Liverpool thanks

Haylands respect your honesty and the way you have talked us through possible fixes/ problems have been a real eye opener Only one thing I am concerned about I bought the 2009 Gs300 after owning 3 older Lexus 7 years ago.I don't think I like this car , the drive feels twitchy and sometimes it feels like it's on rails if the roads bad. I hope you don't take a hit with the car price wise and for what's its worth If I still had the money to buy the LS 460. I wouldn't think twice about buying it off you, put the cheep shocks on because that's the only thing it needs , I wouldn't know the difference.Your a perfectionist I'm not. Ah the famous lexuschap has bought the maroon one suddenly the mileage is set in stone I will get a LS460 eventually as its my dream car I will need to be sure though because I do not have your knowledge about cars Great thread gives me tips on what to look for and where to source parts thanks

Just noticed another dodgy deal by Lexus chap A LS460 was for sale on eBay , owner cannot confirm miles etc 94000, I spoke to the guy he doesn't know the history , he got it from Ireland Lexuschap wins the bid for £4500 and puts it on eBay for £6500 now the history and everything is ok , the car has no issues the original owner said it needs slot of work hence the price. He nay have done some work but he could not prove the mileage, How long is this deceitful character going to get away with this ,

It's gone to a better man Haylands, I wouldn't have known where to start with the suspension issues. Did you notice the maroon one that sold a couple of days earlier by the same seller for about £4500 very cheap. It would be interesting to know how that faired I sent a PM to ask for the reg to do a check and he never got back to me so I was dubious. Hello all I have just bought a GS300 mk 3 It is my 3rd Lexus but I have not owned one for 6 years I previously had a GS300 mk 1 and an LS430 both great cars I went on to buy jags and mercs without much success so I am back with a Lexus. I was after the RX 400 or a GS hybrid but I seen this on eBay and won the bid so a deal was done. I have been on the forum before but that was an unfortunate episode I had with a well known unsavoury Lexus dealer from the Midlands well that's enough about me thanks jim

how bad is the service history? It was lost I've been told The car is with a dealer now and the last MOT was done at the lexus dealership but they have no history. I will check for the rattling and knocking thanks for the advice. I have had a gen 1 gs and an LS430 they where both great cars I've had a volvo s80, merc cls and jags since- comparison I hope this is half as good as the other two. The mileage is a worry though Thanks again

Hi guys I am looking at buying a 2009 gs300 there is little service history but hpi check has verified the milage 114000 Am I taking a big risk ? The car is cheap and I really like it The shocks and brakes have been done What would you do I could could get a 2006 for the same money with lower miles I am not a age snob but I really like the look of it Thanks in advance for your input
