  1. The 60k service was done on mine before I bought it at 42k. Bill was £1800 with new plugs and front discs/pads. This year's service will be a minor one yeah? How much can I expect to pay?
  2. £8500 in 2 years! What went wrong with it and how old was the car when you bought it?
  3. I think I would eventually get a GS F or Alfa Giulia Quadrifoglio if I keep the IS F for as long as I intend to. An RC F would be an option too if my wife gets a bigger family car than her 1 series. All 3 are a bit rich for me yet tho.
  4. A bit bored right now as the wife has the new Bridget Jones film on, so thought of would start a new thread. What 3 things made you go for an IS F? What 3 things would you change about the IS F? What 3 cars would be on your list if you sold your IS F tomorrow? For me it was; 1. Performance, reliability/dealer reputation, and rarity. 2. 3 rear seats, a rear wiper, genuine tailpipe ends instead of the plastic bumper inserts. 3. C63 AMG, Jag XFR, M3 Saloon......I'd also like a Cayman S alongside a cheap diesel runaround.
  5. I think the problem is that they are just too rare and only people who are properly into their cars know they exist. On top of that they don't have the heritage and previous loyal brand following of the likes of an M3 or AMG with it being Lexus's first foray into the high performance market. Also the reviews weren't anything spectacular when it was released and you barely hear them mentioned in general car forums or car media. They have been around for near enough a decade and apart from one at Santa Pod last year mine is the only one I have ever seen in the flesh......never passed a single one on the roads or seen one parked up in all that time. Only a few friends and work colleagues knew what it was when I bought it, and loads of so called petrol heads didn't have a clue.
  6. Just watched it on Kodi. Remember watching it originally when it first aired on TV, always wanted an ISF after seeing that episode of Top Gear and after years of mundane company cars I've got my wish. Still glad I chose it over an M3 saloon as that was one of the options when I was looking....even if Clarkson did prefer the BMW.
  7. Got to pick up a few rods in the week and see if it's just a blocked pipe. Hopefully will be an easy fix as ive had no end of drainage and flooding problems since moving here.....during Easter my drive colapsed causing over £3k worth of damage that I'm yet to get to the bottom of.
  8. Sorry I couldn't make it today...heavy rain here has meant I've spent the morning sorting this out.
  9. Looking on Autotrader there are 3 GSF's for around the 50k mark......reckon they will drop to 40k in another year/18mths?
  10. I was looking at Donington Park and the classic transport museum at Coventry
  11. I'm East Midlands so count me in. Tried to organise one last year but it didn't get much interest and I am useless at that kind of stuff anyway.
  12. Filter gives it a midnight blue tinge....looks pretty sweet that colour.
  13. Woke up at 1pm today as working nights this week, was expecting a load of snow but it has all just about melted. Hopefully weather is kind tomorrow so I can give her a wash.
  14. Gotta admit the Giulia Quadrifoglio is the best looking car in that class, and has outstanding performance. Regarding the dealer network, if you do go Alfa next then I would visit Chris Variava Alfa Romeo in Nottingham....my previous car was a new Alfa Giulietta Quadrifoglio purchased from them and have nothing but praise about Variava for customer service. The go to guy there is Paul Jones...he's head of Alfa sales, an Alfa nut, and helps run the East Mids owners club. They even sorted me out free tickets to the World Superbikes at Donnington for my birthday on behalf of Alfa Romeo as the 4C is the official safety car. You not fancy a GSF instead though?
  15. Haven't been on here for a while but if I'm not doing anything then count me in.
  16. The other options I looked at when I bought mine in May were the C63, XFR and M3 saloon. I would add E63, XJR and S8 to that now. And if money wasn't an object then the GSF, RS7 and Giulia Quadrifoglio.
  17. Was discussing having a 3rd child with the wife last night. It won't be for another 2 years or so but it got me looking at what i'd replace the 4 seater IS F with when the time comes. Seems to be a lot of options with a theoretical budget of £20-25k and being a year to 3 years newer than my 2008 model. I would probably go for the Mercedes C63 or E63 AMG Saloon/Estate, or a Jaguar XFR or XJ 5.0 Portfolio, but there are loads of options for a decent perfoming V8 such as the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, BMW M3 or M5 Saloon, or X5M, Infiniti FX 5.0 V8, Range Rover Sport 5.0 V8 Supercharged, Vauxhall VXR8 or Lexus LS460. Plus maybe the GS F would be an option then. What would other IS F owners look at replacing theirs with if/when the time comes?
  18. Been away on holiday this past week so haven't been able to check on here til now. Doesn't seem to be generating that much interest so not sure if it's worth carrying on with arranging it? Was looking at weekend of 1st/2nd October.
  19. OK so 2 venues that stand out so far are Donington Park and Coventry Transport Museum
  20. A couple of ideas have been Donington Park or Coventry Transport Museum
  21. Coventry Transport Museum sounds good. Posted this on all the other forums and started a dedicated thread on the meets section.
