Make sure the fuel pump recall work has been done - unlikely it hasn’t.

I think it’s across the board. Cost of living is just crazy.

Thinking of buying a used LC500 to replace my bimmer.
It would probably be either that or a new giulia QV that costs about the same money as a used 3 years old LC ( or nothing)
So the obvious question is, is the LC500 fast and engaging enough?
I have seen some youtube videos where 0-100 km/h is close to 5.5sec, which is not what I would expect at this price point.
I wiould be happy If it achieves the advertised 4.7 secm but 5.5 is a bit slow.Don't get me wrong, I know it is a GT rather than a sports car, but even so I would expect a sub-5 seconds 0-100
Cheers
If Top Trump numbers are of importance to you, my gut feeling is.... don't buy one.

Many years ago, when I had a Vantage, the first thing I did upon picking it up was to sort the exhaust flaps out, so they stayed open all the time. In the Aston, this was really easy, as all you had to do was locate and pull out 'Fuse 22'! It sounded much better and the fuse never went back in.
I did a bit of internet digging on how to do this on the LC and while it wasn't quite so simple, it was still pretty straight-forward. It has made a reasonable difference and i'm now much more pleased with the sound when i'm just pootling about, which lets face it, on our roads is most of the time.
I'm curious, is this something that most owners have done? on the Aston, I would say 99% of owners pulled fuse 22.
What's the next step up if I wanted more theatre / noise from the LC? The only option I could see was for a complete 5K+ new exhaust system to go on, and i'm not sure I can justify that, or indeed just how much difference it will make.
Quite easy to open the exhaust valves. You can do a bodge (

My spin on this……
Having had people break into my house looking for keys (years ago) whilst I was in the house, I’d rather just wake up and the car be gone. End of.
I don’t want some determined bar steward standing over my bed with a baseball bat asking for a ghost code.
Visual deterrents are surely the best. Even better friend, the law of averages. There surely can’t be much demand for an LC, and most LCs seem to be that yucky red colour - nobody would want one of those, surely 😜

Couldn't agree more, I've had mine 3 years next month and I am really struggling to find anything else I'd want. Had this conversation with one or two people recently. A real shame that Lexus have stopped taking UK orders for the LC, but (as yet) don't seem to be planning a replacement. I probably would have waited till '25/'26 then tried to find a used '23 facelift model, but there'll probably be so few in the country I'd physically not be able to find one in the right spec/colour. Holding on to mine for the forseeable I think, I'm only doing 6-7k a year mileage.
Like you say, what else would you replace an LC with? 🤔I’ve bought a little warm BMW to daily….. probably faster than the LC 😀. The LC will remain in the garage and only be used occasionally. Not driven the LC for three weeks, then started it yesterday. God…… it’s so loud for a stick car cold start. 😂

Few people know what an RC-F is. I really wouldn’t worry

More and more cars seem to be suffering with this - here and over in the US.
The tightening fix only seems to fix it for a while.......

Can you describe the noise? Is it a metallic “clunk”. A single one off sound when it flexes?
Generally when you pull off and come to stop. A single clunk. Once it happens it won't happen again until you do the opposite motion i.e stop or start.

Thankyou! Car is with dealers now, I will post an update when a solution to my specific issue is found, so others can check this out.
Let's hope they fix it for you - it's the sort of thing that can drive you POTTY!

Yeh yeh - another LC500 😁
On the other hand, the house looks amazing. How about a walk round video of that!?

Had a clunking noise from what sounds like the rear for a while (months), it definitely seems to be getting worse. Seems difficult to isolate - mainly when starting/stopping, but also on turns and when going over kerbs etc.
Had one dealer say it's loose brakes and normal. Another says it's body flex and they need to strip down to locate.
I would love to know if other LC500 owners have any knowledge of this - is it normal/not normal?
I've encountered this with several LCs.
Just be warned that Lexus tend to fix it and the noise returns.
Hopefully the attached will help.

Was looking at an R8, but
LC500 sound (to me) is up there with the R8 V10 (and more accessible)
LC500 rarity
LC500 loved by most of the public
LC500 reliability and RELAX. R8 fragility scared the hell out of me

Personally, having driven both RWS and non RWS, I wouldn't buy a car without it. The turn in is so much more crisp and makes the car feel much smaller than it is.

Took the car out for a run today. Dry but cold. The Bridgestone’s are pants. Absolute pants. Can’t put anything down in terms of power. I may change them out of frustration as opposed to wear…next service is next month. Is Michelin the consensus?
Totally agree - but for me, I've actually learnt to enjoy them because of this.
Having said that, I'll definitely be going back to Michelin. They seem much more predictable.

Just as an update on this. It appears that Lexus recognise that the original seat suffers from excessive movement. They have tweaked the design since, BUT the tweak doesn't work. So, if your seat doesn't move right now - it probably will sooner or later 😁

About the same as the isF although they had no idea about whether the diff oil needed changing or not.
£850 is super cheap. Wait itil the OP has to replace the front discs / pads (and potentially the sensors) - ££££££.

You need to find out what you did, as everyone will want to replicate 🤪

It’s all crystal ball stuff.
I guess it’s fair to say that an ISF isn’t going to be impacted as much as the electric brigade, but in the current market, I’m of the opinion that prices will get sucked down by everything else.
It’s always difficult to value an ISF. The market for them is so small. 95% of buyers will walk straight past and into the arms of an M3, C63 or RS4.

With a lack of low end torque, an F car is much better than the likes of an M4 / 63.
Hope you got home safely!
-
This is correct. My dealer told me a few weeks back. Last cars will roll off the line in March 2024. Same for the RC-F.

I drove from the Cotswolds to the Cairngorms- 40 mpg. Once in Scotland……………😛
-
OP, have you got multiple accounts?
-
Firstly, why do you need a new rack? Reason I ask is because there is a TSB.
