Depending on the dealer but generally I have found that discount and pricing over the phone are no where near as effective as standing in the showroom ready to deal at the right price. Based in the ROI myself but always achieved at least €1000 off list price on used cars & achieved a healthy % against a new one in main dealers, the haggle is half the fun

If it was my own decision/money it would be a definitely. Don't get me wrong the 300 is a beautiful car but in my honest opinion the F sport is another step up the ladder.

Have you looked at the BMW 330e? The enemy on these boards I am sure ;-) They come pretty well spec'd, comfortable to drive and offer the same sort of range as the is300h. Not sure how it works in the UK but in the ROI there are grants of 7k available off a new one.

Leaving work this evening thinking the car needs a wash and as I was going to the boot I noticed that something had gotten up close and personal with my passenger side rear bumper and decided to do a runner. No cctv either

I had had my own serviced with Murphy & Gunn in Rathgar, Dublin who are an authorised Lexus repairer recently, very reasonable price with a very competitive tyre price and the car came back as new both inside & out. Maria & Louise are the service advisors, no harm in pricing with them next time you need work doing, 01-4068600

Noticing a few Irish locations on some historic threads and I was wondering if there are many active Ireland based members and if there are any/many static meets along the lines of cars & coffee organised?

Over 1500kms I have averaged 46.8mpg which I happy with, a mix of motorway of 4 x 300km return duel carriageway/motorway trips fully laden and 26km return commute daily in stop/start traffic

In Ireland the BMW service schedule on newer cars is 30,000Kms/2 years whichever comes first and a brake fluid service every third service. So a service contract will get you 2 oil services, a major service, a brake fluid service plus any stat vehicle inspections which for €500 it represents very good value for money when you are doing the mileage imo I had an oil service & air filter replaced last week in a Dublin based Lexus dealer, €179 all in and another €50for a hybrid health check. Servicing is always one of those topics, personally whilst a car is still under warranty and less that 7 years old I will always use a main dealer, my own preference but I do believe that technicians who are seeing marque specific vehicles all day have a keener eye for both indentifying and resolving issues

Just a quick introduction. Collected my new to me 300h late last week and have covered just over 600kms since collection. Replaced 4 tyres, had an intermediate service carried out and some time with the detailer before collection so now its a case of driving and enjoying. I am genuinely surprised at the positive reaction the car receives. Mine is a 2014 H F Sport model in white. So far so good, I had heard some reviews of harsh suspension however I have no issues but still have the rose tinted glasses.
