Ebay Paul. Just search 'Lexus puddle lights'. Make sure you get the correct light for the correct year. Dead easy to fit, just pop out the standard light, swap the plug over and pop in the new one. Mine came from China and took a while to arrive but what ever. Bod

My son bought some Toyota ones for his Yaris. When I fitted them and saw the 3D result I thought I'd get my Lexus ones. The more I see it lit up the more I like it.

What are your opinions on theses door lights. They were only £7 so I thought I'd give them a go. I think they're quite cool in a funky kind of way but the standard red lights are just cool in a cool way. Thanks Neil, that's the info I was looking for. Although they look the same in the body shape I was concerned about them being attached to different wheel centres and possible airbag shapes. The connections on the bomb are the same but I can't get the plug off the old one as it's attached using a barb type system where the tabs push into the hole then pop out in to the fitting. It's a tight fit and there are 3 of them. Clearly designed not to be messed with. I'll take your advise and seek some professional input. Cheers, Bod.

Hi, friends, I know this is a bit cheeky but I have an issue on my sons baby Lexus. It is in fact a Toyota Yaris and I have posted the below question on the Toyota Owners Club Forum, but there was no reply so wondered if you guys could help. Hi, my son wants to change the steering wheel on his Yaris Mk1 as it's all manky. He has taken the opputunity to upgrade to a T-Sport model one that has come from a 51 plate and his is a '99 GLS. The problem is the airbag electric fitting is different. The only option I can see is to change the whole 4 nut unit that you can see in the picture. I'm not going touch anything without hearing some advice first. I can't see any other options, can you? The one on the right is the old GLS one and the other is the T-Sport one. Any help please. Hi, I just fitted some aftermarket DRLs to my 2002 GS300. I fitted them at the correct height and width apart and they have the added facility to flash orange when the indicator is operated. I thought this would be a good feature as the modern day lights with the indicators in the headlights are hard to see in my opinion. I have just taken the car for it's MOT and the tester asked me to disconnect the indicator feature as when it is operated, the white light goes off for the the orange light to come on. So just to clarify, the light is white when driving normally and when the indicator is switched on the light sequence is white-orange-white-orange etc. The standard indicator works as it should. The tester said you are not allowed a flashing white light on the front of a vehicle but I argued that it was a flashing orange light. In actual fact it is a flashing orange and white light. Mind you he did not comment on the real failure point in that the DRLs did not dip or go off when the headlights where switched on. Any help from from traffic cops or other testers would be great. My box of bits has no instructions or any such thing on the box except for the wiring diagram. Ive looked all over the tinterweb and can't find anything except laymans opinions. The reason really is that my my son is about to start driving so I wanted him to be as safe as possible and be seen as much as possible especially when turning. I liked the look it gave his Yaris so popped a pair on mine which raises the old look of the car a little. OH WOW. SOMEONE PLEASE DELETE ALL MY DUPLICATES.

Hi all, Does anyone know what is involved with steering wheel changes? Does it affect the air bag or button function or is it pretty much like the old days where you just undo the nut and change it over? I've just changed the gear knob to a wood effect one from a 430 and I quite fancy having the matching wheel. Thanks, Bod

I've always found Lexus/Toyota prices are all over the place. Things that you think are expensive can be cheap and vice versa. My son wanted a set of mudflaps for his Yaris, phoned Toyota and they were only £20 for a set. Bargain!! He phoned again today for a rear wiper arm only to be told £61+vat plus an extra £8 for the blade. Most of the time though, things are just expensive.

Found it. You can use an unused fuse hole that wakes up with the ignition if you have one, or piggy back the live wire from an ignition live peg on a relay such as the fuel pump. Bod

Maybe you should look backwards instead of forwards. What I mean is, as you have stated, the newer cars are smaller, less well equipped and less reliable. I went backwards from a 2010 to a 2002 well looked after GS300. It's fully loaded, massive in every aspect and pretty much bullet proof. I couldn't be happier. I know there's the snob factor to consider and the golf club car park jokes to put up with, but at least I can get two golf trolleys in and two sets of clubs without taking the long clubs out the bag first. Including shoes, coats and all the other gubbins. That's more than the Micky takers can do with their flash new C class's. Faffing about put things on the back seats. You may not play golf but most hobbie gear and family clutter applies. My car is also a rare sight on the the roads and often turns heads as it still looks awesome and the best bit is I only paid £1000 for it so no monthly outgoing HP or PCP.
