  1. It is yeah.... Even better in the flesh. Cheers Dave.
  2. It's also a BIG annoyance to me when people towing a car leave the hazard lights going on the towed vehicle!!!! Just put an "on tow" sign on the back and leave the bloody hazards off!!! Winds me up even more when it's a proper recovery vehicle doing the towing as they should know better. Cheers Dave.
  3. I'll give the £129 Toyota dealership a call then to book the car in. The guy i spoke to this afternoon to get a price said it would involve the oil & filter change along with a general inspection and clean. As i say they used to do all the work for the Lexus dealership next door in the past and assume they still do so seems daft paying Lexus an extra £80 to have the work done in the same workshop!!! Cheers Dave.
  4. Those aren't xenon lights as in what you get with factory fit xenons or after market HID kits as they require ballast packs fitting for the xenons. These are just halogen bulbs with some xenon gas in them and i would have thought would be similar to the philips bluevision style bulbs which still appear yellow compared to factory fit xenons or after market HID kits. Cheers Dave.
  5. Just to add to my post above.... Mine is a 2004 car and it does mention it as the OP says on page 36 of the manual. Cheers Dave.
  6. The car is due for it's annual service, (7 year / 70k this time.... Although the car's only done 63k!!!), this next week or two so thought i'd ring round for a price... Local Lexus dealership - £209 Local Toyota dealership no.1 - £175 Local Toyota dealership no.2 - £129 I know the previous owner of the car had the 60k service done including cambelt and sparkplugs etc... so am assuming the 60k is the major service and the 70k would be more of an oil / filter change and inspection kind of a service??? So does £129 sound ok for the 70k service on an IS300??? Also this Toyota dealer is the one in the area that is actually bang next door to the Lexus dealer and i'm pretty sure when the wife used to have her IS and took it in to the Lexus dealership for servicing it was always done at this Toyota dealership next door. Cheers Dave.
  7. Just tried mine and it doesn't do this.... I'm assuming it means that if you have locked all the doors after getting in the vehicle by using the door lock/unlock button the doors will unlock when you open the drivers door??? Well i got in turned on the ignition and then locked the doors.... Then turned the ignition off and tried opening the drivers door and nothing happened.... I had to unlock all the doors using the lock/unlock button to get out of the car. Cheers Dave.
  8. Hi all, Just wanted to know if K&N is the only option for replacing the stock air filter with a performance one? I notice pipercross do a filter for the IS200 but can't see anything for the IS300 other than K&N. Cheers Dave.
  9. Thanks for that Matey..... Hope you don't get into trouble for it. Cheers Dave.
  10. IS300 went in for it's MOT today and passed with flying colours..... Still feels and drives like it first went on the road this week and not 7 years ago this week!!!

  11. Which is good but how do you find the info out about dealers in your location as part of your weighing up of whether to become a gold member??? Would be handy to have this info before being a gold member as i would imagine it's a major factor in the decision to join to some members... Money's tight these days and i for one would like to know if my local dealerships are part of the scheme before shelling out £25 only to find i'm only going to get access to a couple of extra forums. By the way i'm in Sheffield so if someone could confirm if Lexus Sheffield are in the scheme that would get me joining gold membership by the end of the week!!!! Cheers Dave.
  12. Had the IS in for it's MOT today and passed with flying colours. Noticed it had had a couple of advisories last year before i bought it but turned out they were for a worn tyre and a broken interior drivers door handle mechanism which had both been sorted before i bought it in November. She drives and feels like she first went on the road last week and not seven years ago this Wednesday!!! In a good mood now so thought i'd share the good vibe with everyone. :D Cheers Dave.
  13. Have got the Lexus booked in for it's MOT tomorrow and got the certificate out ready for the morning when i noticed that last year it had an advisory/advisories. I'd not noticed it before and started thinking the worst about what it could have been and so did a quick search online to see if you can find out what a vehicles advisories were and hey presto you can. MOT history The link takes you to the DirectGov site which then links you through to the MOT history check. You just need the reg number and the MOT test number off the last MOT certificate and it will then bring up all the info for every MOT the vehicle has ever had including any advisories and also any failures etc... Thought it may be of some use to people when buying a used car. Oh and the advisories the car got last year??? A broken interior door handle on the drivers door which i have a receipt for repair that came with the car..... And a worn tyre which had also been replaced by the time i bought the car. Cheers Dave.
  14. I'd be interested in knowing this info too. Cheers Dave.
  15. Thanks for the responses..... Now i've seen it 10 litres rings some bells so think it might be that. In the 300 it would be around 40 miles range i suppose as an average. Cheers Dave.
  16. I've just tried searching for this but i can't find the answer.... Just wanted to know how much fuel there is in the tank when the low fuel light comes on? In my last car as well as the low fuel indication i also had a "range left" display so i knew roughly how much was in the tank. It's an IS300 if that makes any difference. I'm sure i've seen it somewhere on here before but can't find it for the life of me. Cheers Dave.
  17. Mines an 04 plate IS300 and works as follows.... Press the windscreen wash button on the stalk with the lights off or on sidelights and only the windscreen wash works. Press the windscreen wash button on the stalk with the lights on dip or mainbeam and both headlight and windscreen washers work but only the first time you do it.... After the first time only the windscreen wash works. If the headlights need another wash after the above first time wash then the button on the dash cleans the headlights. Having had three cars with xenons now this is probably the best system i've had so far having the ability to wash the headlights alone if required.... In my Polo GTi when the headlights were on the windscreen and headlight washers worked together every time you used the windscreen washers. (Went through washer water / fluid like nobodies business!!!) In my Fabia vRS when the headlights were on both windscreen and headlight washers worked the first time then again every five times after that so you get one wash with both then the next four would be just the windscreen then the next one would be both again and so on. Cheers Dave.
  18. Ok here's some pics of mine that i mentioned further up the thread..... Excuse the dirty interior but it's due a vacuum..... Cheers Dave.
  19. "Proffesional UK legal window tints"???? It looks like the front windows are tinted down which would make them very much UK illegal window tints!!! Cheers Dave.
  20. I'm working 12hr days today and tomorrow so i'll take some pictures on Monday in the daylight if that's ok. Cheers Dave.
  21. Currently using Collonite 476s but a mate is just starting with the dodo juice and says it's great so i may be moving over to that once i've finished the collonite off. Cheers Dave.
  22. I only needed a drivers side mat and went for one of these linked in post four of THIS thread. I went for the LUXURY quality mat and it's good quality and nearly as thick / plush as the OEM ones. They also are a perfect fit and have the holes for the retaining clips/hooks. I can post a pic of my drivers mat for you if you like??? Cheers Dave.
  23. Just had another go and got the whole thing done in about 15mins..... I think the fact that originally i was trying to do it in December when it was about -5C and my fingers kept going numb might have had something to do with me having problems before. :) Cheers Dave.
  24. At least he's kinda honest. Cheers Dave.
  25. I had a go at this before Christmas but couldn't get the bar off. Didn't want to force it etc... Does it need quite a bit force to pull it off once the bolts/nuts are undone??? Cheers Dave.
