  1. My IS250 definitely takes longer to warm up then my old IS200 did. On my run to work, its about 2 miles at 30 then a couple of miles of motorway before its fully up to temperature.
  2. My IS250 definitely takes longer to warm up then my old IS200 did. 7 minutes sounds about right to me.
  3. Having traded my 2001 IS200S in at the end of last year, I've just realised I didn't put back in the car one of the rear head restraints that I'd removed so that my daughter's child seat would fit in. Of course I don't have any use for it in my nice IS250SE :D, so if anyone out there needs one (its a black fabric one from the nearside rear, but I think is the same as the offside one), just drop me a line. I'm not looking to sell it, just would like postage covered, or you can pick it up.
  4. I picked up my 2006 (56) IS250SE+MM a couple of weeks ago. As part of the deal, I got the ipod integration kit, but I've got the same problem as a couple of the previous posters...no track names or playlist names appearing on the screen. I got fobbed off by the dealer over the phone who said sometihng along the lines of , but have to take the car back to them for another matter, and have asked for a proper explanation from someone who knows what they are talking about! So my main question is...Has anyone who had this problem had it successfully sorted out? Its not clear to me whether its a problem with the MM system, the ipod integration kit, or the ipod (mine is an ipod touch) itself. Can anyone shed any further light on it?
  5. Obviously, we are all biased here :D , but if we are really taking into account the full ownership experience then I have to admit I am disappointed with the new IS. Some of us current IS owners have families and need a smidgen of practicality. So when I had a good look at an IS250 at MPH05 in London a couple of weeks ago I was disappointed at the limited amount of room in the back. Also the boot is smaller than the old car. These are both areas which are important to me in terms of the ownership and which I was hoping the new car would improve on. In both areas the BMW appears to be significantly better. (Don't worry, I would never buy such a pig-ugly :tsktsk: )
  6. In the discussions about the new IS250 there has been a lot of talk about the IS200 "not being a proper Lexus, just a Toyota with a badge stuck on". Personally speaking, having owned an utterly reliable Toyota for years, the fact it was a Toyota is what attracted me to the car. Would you have bought a Toyota IS200? (obviously we know the answer from you Altezza guys.... :D)
  7. so anybody else noticed that the first bit of video is of the old IS.....
  8. Has anyone tried this place http://www.autoebid.com/newSelect.asp?Make...Manual&Search=2 ......£1200 off all models...allegedly 6-8wks delivery from a UK dealer
  9. PLEASE Enough of how good the paint under the bonnet is. ... :) I'm sure everyone here just wants the the top of the bonnet to be covered in something a bit better than the stuff laughingly called paint on the IS200.
  10. trying rubbing some vaseline into the gaiter.... :D ....no seriously it worked for me!
  11. It sounds like the same problem I had: It's the gearshift gaiter rubbing together when its creased. Another topic on here ages ago recommended rubbing vaseline into the gaiter: sounds odd but it worked for me!
  12. We used a Jane Matrix car seat and travel system in our IS200 The matrix is a clever thing that is like a carrycot for the first few months (which is apparently better for the baby) and is fitted across the back seats, then it tilts up to become a rear facing seat. We got it as part fo a travel system, so the car seat attaches to the buggy so it looks like an old fashioned pram, or it can be tilted up. There are various different buggies available with 3 or 4 wheels. Ours takes up quite a lot of room in the boot, but is ok day to day: you can get the buggy, all the other day to day junk and a weeks shopping in. I bought a roofbox for longer trips away: seemed a lot better compromise than buying a lumbering estate with a boot that would only be full a couple of times a year. Now we have got a foward facing seat for our 2yr old we just use the buggy on its own. It's a bit fiddly to fit , and takes up the whole back seats in flat mode, but worked fine in our IS. Have a look here: http://www.jane.es/seguretat/fitxa/matrix/index.php if you are after a travel cot, we got a Graco Compact one, mainly because, when folded, it fits in the boot in the space between the wheelarches , leaving room in front for your Jane pushchair!
