  1. Hi again I've now done nealy 2000 miles and the mpg has started to go up. But the wife has now decided that she is going to drive the car as well :o so not only will have to put fuel in for the miles I do but hers as well Steve
  2. I got 260 out of half a tank on the motorway that not the problem its the round town that got me in all my other cars I got the combined mpg in the IS I can't get close to it but after reading post on here things should improve or I will be going to a Yaris
  3. Hi Its now a week on from the car going in, Lexus Manchester said they got the car doing 21.9 mpg on a 10 mile run around Manchester and that every thing was OK . I've altered my driving this week and that has mad a slight improvement :D to the mpg and I now go a different way to work that takes in a dual-carriage way, its a longer run but at faster speed I think I was just being impatient and it did take that nice feeling away from having a new car but as long as the mpg improves I will get that feeling back. :P All I need is some touch up paint as the score is now 1 stone chip and 1 scratch (this should just polish out) Steve
  4. Well I've had my LE for 5 weeks done 1200 miles and its going back into Lexus Manchester on Monday to see if they can do any thing about it only doing 18 mpg If I drive the car a bit harder I can get 19 mpg on the Motor-way I over 36 mpg :D I don't do town driving, I've driven the same way to work for the last 11 years and in all the other cars I've had i've got the combined mpg every time (4 Toyota Celica's, 2 Corolla's and a Carena TD). Other than this I like the car The gear box: I was used to as its just the same as the Celica better when warm so no problem there. Yes it could do with a bit more low down power but again not a problem as I'm tired of getting every IDIOT in a corsa ect. having a go at the lights. The handling: well not as sharp as the Celica but not far off. I can really tell at roundabouts, but now I can go over speed humps with out putting my back out. Wheels sounds like the usual Toyota syndrome but then thats why they have a warranty. As for the rest of the car full leather great (not having full leather stopped me buying a 200 last time). Sound system very good (just got to get the wife's CDs out and mine in). Auto head lights I've not made my mind up yet (some times great other times why the hell are they on). Lexus Manchester get 7 out off 10 with a could try harder, but we will see how it goes on Monday. Steve
  5. Hi Woskit That sounds like it could have been me I just live behind Sheepfoot lane Prestwich. :winky: Sorry for the lights they do light the road up
  6. I've had 7 Toyotas and in every one I've had a tin of touch up paint for stone chips. But I've been told that Lexus have stopped putting any in the cars, does anybody know why? Yesterday I got 2 bottles of wine delivered from Lexus Manchester a very nice gesture but were is my touch up paint I asked, They are going to get mme some but it should come with the car. I understand that this is now a common complaint so why don't they just put some paint in a tin and put it in the car. This may be a bit of a rant be it realy p :tsktsk: d me off Not very happy PS the car drive great now the tires have done a few hundred miles
  7. How come I can get mine to sit above 30 you must all have lead feet or is just that I drive to work at 5.20 in the morning when I only see about 5 other cars on the road, and three of them are BMWs Steve
  8. I do have a grin but nobody can see me as I blind them with the HID lights (they do light the road up) I can now spot the rabbits at a mile away now :D
  9. HI I picked up my LE on Saturday and I'm :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D It was the best turned out car I have ever picked up (I've had a few). I would rate Lexus Manchester @ 8 out of 10 as they could have done some of the little things better but they did get the main things right and the car was ready on time. The only thing on the car that could be better is the lighted kick plates, they do look a bit cheap but if thats the only thing I can find to pick up on then :duh: Steve
  10. As I'm due to pickup my LE on Saturday I feel a bit p :tsktsk: f. But if only a few of the extras are being rolled over to the SE its not that bad plus if the price is going up as well then looks like I got the better deal. Steve :o
  11. you luky sod I have to wait till next Saturday. Enjoy :winky:
  12. Well thank you all for the nice welcome. I hope to see some of you on the road some time. :D
  13. Hi I have to wait till the 13th as I work shifts and I have a plate to transfer as well. So next week is going to be realy long :duh:
  14. Hi I've just ordered my first Lexus a IS200 SE LE with 3 years free sevicing from Lexus Manchester. I got good service from them lets hope it stays that way. I've had 7 Toyota's before so I know about the reliability ect. I got a very good price for my Celica and with the free servicing and a deal on the lighted tread plates the deal was done. Steve:D
