  1. Out of interest ……. what’s the mileage / time years, since the last cambelt etc change on your cars ? I was reading long back that the “ break / bust “ time for a Ls400 cambelt might be 150k miles …….. 10 years / 100k miles in my book but others might have different thoughts and experiences Thanks Malc
  2. I’d confuse myself …… at least with the inbuilt obsolescence of the redundant satnav screen ……. outmoded and outdated and me trying to get it to work better than my iPhone maps stuff which is always uptodate and spot on …… probably 🤔 nope, I think I’ll pass on the opportunity Thanks all the same 😂 Malc
  3. Excellent. Well done 👍 Malc
  4. 🙃 Autoafraider has a Mk4 at £1750 with 111k miles ...... who'd have thought it eh ! Maybe i should complete the hattrick and get myself a doer-upper Mk4 now 🤣 Malc
  5. I’m thinking I’ve been reading past times here that there may actually be THREE potential options 🤔 and of course only one will do so continue to take great care ! Malc
  6. Is this for a pre MOT inspection or the MOT ? good luck whatever Malc
  7. I would simply emphasise that the Amayama parts I ordered and had fitted by my Indy are actually proper Toyota Lexus genuine parts Malc
  8. Looks wonderful too ............ lucky you eh ! Malc
  9. Just a little summat I mentioned ……. way back …. 🤣 Malc
  10. when I was buying suspension parts for my Ls400 from Amayama some years back they supplied product in Toyota stamped plastic bags ........ and I saved several £'00s over the Lexus/Toyota parts prices from the Main Dealer network Malc
  11. on a similar poor life Lexus “ new “ product I used to buy the premium priced quality OEM Toyota Main Dealer stores wiper blades …… they lasted about 4 years , 30/40k miles THEN the last set I bought, brand new wrap packed out of the Stores, barely lasted a 12 month …….. poor shelf life eh 🤔 Always buy “ ordinary “ ones now …… for my 3 cars ! ….. they generally last ok up to their 2nd MOT Malc
  12. Just to note the OP hasn't been back once to check the replies ............ in 12 days ! Malc
  13. makes sense of course BUT I could do with some of that profit in reduced prices at the pump They're making too much profit at our expense Malc
  14. can you identify any actual " failure " before you go off on one ranting and raving and making yourself look an absolute Tos--er and wasting everyone's time ? 🤣 Malc
  15. well I for one would wish for Tesco to " give back " some of it's enormous profits this last season ( £ 2.5bn ? is it ) give some more of it back to it's customers rather than simply to its shareholders / investors these obscene profits have been made off the backs of us customers who in some measure have been ripped off by Tesco excessive fuel pricing I'm sure My Tesco is still some of the best value fuel around BUT that doesn't mean to say that they are being at all FAIR to us customers with their excessive pricing Malc
  16. Chill out and Sleep on it …… might make a difference in the morning with a fresh mind and eyes Malc
  17. There’s a simplistic view that undersealing an older car just seals in the dross that’s causing rust ……. no matter how much prep is done …… and it seethes away creating risk and rust and hiding it all NOW many moons ago I was chatting at a classic car show to a guy with an immaculate Austin Cambridge that had an unresolvable engine oil weep, from new, that spread across the underside giving best rust protection maybe Old age and rust kills cars …… eventually Your car at 17 years young is in its prime of course and I’m sure you’ll find a good way forward Good luck Malc
  18. Have you got a handy 7 year old child to guide you thru’ this impossible maze ? ……. Might need the simple touch 🤔 Malc
  19. Just my pragmatism here …… Kia Experience and their 7 year warranty Just a little background …… my initial experience of Kia some 30 years back, me as a car dealer too, when they first entered the uk …… TERRIBLE QUALITY …… DISASTER ….. and then, when they’d begun to overcome the copious dreadful issues they brought out the 7 yr warranty here in the UK ….. to instil confidence in the brand Kia is now transformed in its Petrol/diesel cars and longevity is assured ……. hence my business guy in Delhi, at my suggestion, bought his brand spanking new, from the Kia Showroom, petrol, Kia Carens 7 seater SUV …… about £18k or so ( cash of course 😄 ) When he and family goes up-country his car needs 24/7 reliability with family comfort too ……. and refuelling with ease anywhere …… which EV can’t compete with India wide the Carens isn’t available here in the UK now ? Oh, and the car has a full size proper spare wheel too 👍 Malc I would never change from my Ls400 though ….. my simple motoring needs are satiated thankfully 😅
  20. 🧯🧯🧯just in case eh ! Malc
  21. Blimey Aylesford's a long way for you …… been thru there today The ICE “ specialists “ I approached in Kent, all over, a year or two back were absolutely a DEADLOSS Not one inspired my confidence on the phone ! Good luck Malc
