  1. I have just received a letter from LV stating that they will not provide cover from now on for the CT.
  2. I once had a Alfasud 1.5 ti which was good to drive, handled well and had a tuneful exhaust note. On a whim i later bought a Pontiac Firebird, like Kitt from Knight Rider it was really quick in a straight line and handled reasonably except when it was wet.
  3. In the early eighties my dad owned one of these it had beige seats and a fake wooden dash,i passed my test in that car.
  4. As above both ends of the blind are spring loaded and fit into a recess on both sides it is a bit tricky to master at first. My method is to push one side into its recess then pull the spring end only on the other side and take the unit out at an angle.

  8. I previously worked at a silicon wafer plant where as stated above any employee could make a suggestion for improvements in the process. It was called the Kaizen scheme there was rewards offered if accepted. Many years ago i was told a story about match makers wishing to save money on sandpaper costs used to strike the match,an employee said he could half the cost the boss called his bluff the answer was to put sand paper on one side of the box instead of both.
  9. I've recently started using yellow tint safety glasses at night i find they reduced the headlight glare quite well. As a plus point they cost me about £2 from screwfix.
  10. I changed my 12v battery last week as i was getting random warning lights and car not unlocking. The voltage had dropped to 11.4v ,the temperature has not been above 6c for over a month. Fitting the battery was quite easy and there are many videos on you tube if you are unsure,i found a longer 10mm socket fitted every nut. I got the replacement battery from Lexus Parts Direct by mail order the next day mine cost £139 + £6 delivery.
  11. I normally get about 53mpg but since the temp has been below zero for the last month it's now 48. Last year it dropped to 45mpg,since then i have returned to using E5 fuel which has improved consumption this year.
  12. I have Bosch aerotwin blades on mine and find them to be excellent. I have used Denso in the past and they are equally good.
  13. I found a wheel securing bolt in a scrapyard from a Toyota Celica i think the same thread is used in all Toyota products, the bolt cost me 50p.
  14. I've had a spare wheel for 6 years i keep my tools in bubble wrap. I find there is more space to use as you can fill the wheel well and stash smaller items around it.
  15. I don't like white on any car.
  16. I have this one, easy to use and reads in different scales. Had it now for 6 years i paid £29 back then. It came with a calibration cetificate of +/- 1 psi
  17. This happened to me recently during the night, the next morning when i opened the door a small moth flew out from behind the sun visor.
  18. I had problems with my key with slippage which was getting worse so i have went back to a normal wheel nut i don't think wheel theft is a huge issue anymore. 😬
  19. Agreed total PITA i had mine changed by a local mobile tyre fitter for £45 each he used Autel sensors. This is the first car i have had with sensors,i don't need them as i check the pressures every fortnight.
  20. See attached diagram from japanese parts site which is handy for diagrams it,s called Megazip
  21. The nozzle is attached to the rear spoiler near the glass in line with the high level brake light.
  22. I believe cat4 sunglasses are deemed too dark to drive with.
  23. I have EBC green stuff pads on my car and find them very good,as a bonus they produce very little brake dust. I forgot to mention if you are a gold member EBC offer a discount.
  24. I drive buses through Edinburgh city centre every day i believe there are around 60 sets of roadworks ongoing at present,if there is any activity the only person working is the JCB operator while the other 8 people are shooting the breeze.Last weekend, the easter bank holiday one lane of the main route west out of town was dug up on Thursday leaving one remaining lane, with the inevitable chaos and no further activity till the following Tuesday.
  25. I have the same model, there is only one page of presets on each band,6 in each one.
