  1. Yes, the Computer Unit for the Sat Nav is located next to the spare wheel. It is covered with a metal plate, that is removed with two screws. Then there is a small sliding piece of plastic covering the eject button. You will need the keys in the ignition to eject the disc.
  2. 1. Antimony 2. Granite Sky 3. Kensington Green / Glenarvon Pine
  3. I'm hoping to make the trip to Hemel from Sheffield over the summer holiday to check the geometry on my new IS300. Having previously owned two IS200s, both with inner tyre wear, I'm not taking any chances this time! Cheers Phil
  4. I've had my IS300 for a week now. Did a run from Sheffield to Blackpool (via Liverpool) over the weekend. Mostly motorway, but a fair few 30-40mph A-roads also. From fill-up to fill-up I've calculated my MPG to be 27.2 - not bad for a 3 litre beast. Cheers Phil
  5. I find that a lot of dealers create the paperwork this way. Do you have a printout from the dealers website showing the original price of the car?
  6. If the vehicle was involved in an accident, it shouldn't have been sold as an approved Lexus anyway: Taken from lexus.co.uk **** Non-Qualifying Vehicles A vehicle will not qualify as a Approved Pre-Owned Lexus if any of the following occur: If the vehicle has been involved in a major accident If the vehicle's structural integrity is impaired If the body shell has been replaced **** Also, isn't the forecourt value of the car, the price you paid for it? Cheers Phil
  7. Car is still fab. I've done 500 miles since picking the car up last Tuesday and I now class it as the best car I've ever owned. Powerful when needed, refined and smooth when cruising on the motorway. The colour is great too - really glad I chose it. w77: The Sport pedals are standard on the IS300, so I don't know how much they cost. aztecbandit1: I was going to look at that IS300 at Milton Keynes myself, as it was a good price for it's age and has nicer alloys that the ones I've got (IMO). But, I really wanted Sat Nav so didn't bother with the car in the end. Cheers Phil
  8. Much fun with those buttons - very handy on the motorway when getting ready to pull out to overtake.
  9. Have put some pictures of my new toy HERE. Cheers Phil
  10. I'm wanting to fit a Nokia Car Kit to my IS300. I need to run the microphone cable from near the rearview mirror to the control box behind the glovebox. In my non-IS cars I've simply popped off the plastic from the A-pillar and put the cable in there, but the IS has curtain airbags. Does the cover come off at all or is there any way to access this? I don't want to break or set off the airbag doing the install. I'm sure the cable can be put here as I've seen loads of IS200's with Nokia Car Kits installed and I'm certain the cable has run along this route. Any help appreciated. Cheers Phil
  11. Picked up my IS300 from Cardiff today. Fantastic drive home (200 miles back to Sheffield) - really pleased with it so far. Very fast and quiet. Will put some pictures up soon. Only problem now is trying to get parking sensors fitted. Cardiff never returned my phone calls when I asked about getting them fitted before picking the car up, and Sheffield want £350+VAT for them. I only paid £299 inc VAT for them last time :-( Cheers Phil
  12. My first IS200 had the Oakham (cream) interior and I loved it. My current IS200 has the Exmoor (black) interior. I prefer the cream and do miss the classy look, but the black is still very nice. Here is a photo of my old interior:
  13. The limited editions (in the special colour Kodiak Sky) do not have Sat Nav. They do however have full leather and I think the manual had an armrest (which manual IS200s don't normally have).
  14. £8995 for a 2001 'S'? That seems quite a lot. I've just traded in my 2003 IS200 Sport with SatNav (with only 21k miles) and only got £9000 px allowance.
  15. It was quick for you because the number was already on retention. If you are transferring from one car to another there is a delay as they carry out checks. They may even want to view the donor vehicle to ensure it is road worthy.
  16. Thanks for the nice comments. It's on a 04 plate. Am trading in my IS200 Sport 03 Reg (which only has 21k miles on it), having previously owned a 51 Reg IS200SE Auto. Really am looking forward to it. I remember driving a 300 at an open road event not long after I got the 200 Auto and loved it. My wife knew I'd end up with one eventually.
  17. After owning a IS200SE Auto and an IS200 Sport I've just done a deal on an IS300 with SatNav. Can't wait to pick it up - looking forward to going back to Automatic and having more bhp! Will hopefully get it just after May Bank Holiday at the end of the month, depending on how long it takes DVLA to do my numberplate transfer. Cheers Phil
  18. Anyone know if it is possible to add parking sensors to a 51 Reg 2001 IS200SE Auto, and how much it would cost? Cheers Phil
  19. Don't know if it is any use, but Ron Brookes Toyota in Mansfield has a 51 Reg Jan 2002 IS200 SE Auto for £14,495 with about 11k on the clock. I was going around all the local toyota dealers last week to find a cheap Yaris for my brother and found this deal! The web site www.toyota.co.uk/ronbrooks list it at £15,995 but it must have had a price drop recently as the windscreen clearly said £14,495 on Friday. There is a photo of the car here. Full details of the car here They advertise the car as an IS200 S, but it is definately an SE, with Oakham interior. I would buy it myself, but I should be getting my dad's 51 plate SE Auto/Nav very soon :-) Cheers Phil
  20. The auto setting is nice, but I find I end up switching them off manually when I reverse onto my driveway at night, to avoid blinding the neighbours through their living room window.
  21. I got a courtesy call from Lexus Sheffield yesterday (08/03/04) after test driving a LE a couple of weeks ago. The caller informed me of the new IS200SE changes, but I'd still really like an LE - little things like the Arm Rest are important (to my wife anyway!). Will the LE colour (Kodiak Sky) be rolled out to the SE? I'm hoping to be a position to purchase a new IS200 in a couple of weeks so will be keeping an eye out to see how things go. I'm told there are still some manual LEs available for purchase. I've also found a place in Nottingham that can get a full UK LE with 3yr Lexus Warranty for £19500. Decisions decisions..... Cheers Phil
