  1. Regular servicing yes, they can also provide you with a service plan. Hybrid battery health checks - No Therefore needs to be done at a lexus dealer to provide continuation of guarantee. It's a bit strange considering the percentage and number of hybrids Toyota have in the market. By the time you get a Toyota service then pay for a hybrid battery check, alits close to just getting both done at a lexus dealer.

It sounds like your missing the most important cross check information for the first ,3 years leading up to its first MOT.(2016-2019) It's important you do your upmost to validate mileage at first MOT along with service history mileage for each year. The NXs are capable of mega mileage and you'd struggle to see if a one had done more miles than recorded (would be easy to loose 30k ) I have seen NXs with 140,k over 3.5 year (14 service stamps) and they still look as though they've done a quarter of that. Don't suppose they provided any handbooks/etc where you would find supplying dealership? If so 9 times out of 10 easy to ring that dealer for any recorded info on their system. They would oblige. If you have nothing, based on your registration, try ringing around lexus dealers around where the car was initially registered, again you could hit lucky with this method. Not sure when lexus started to record/transfer info to the online lexus link app. (Assume this is where your seeing the gap) Theres the possibility (and have come across) where a car has been purchased by customer who used there own garage for servicing, purely and simply on the basis that the lexus garage was a 50 mile hike away. I once avoided a lexus where 50,000 miles of its record was missing,car was being sold as approved from a lexus dealership, so yes you need your wits about you when buying. The previous owner details that used to be available on V5s are a thing of the past, nothing now passed on where previously you could see previous keeper info.
  3. Stew There worth running into the ground if you can keep up with the bills. If you can get bits like exhaust etc done outside of dealer then great. I've had Toyota's in the past where parts have been dealer only, one of them was worn track rods that were an inherent part of steering rack ..1500 to sort (Japan part only) I think there's a break point where once you go to 100,000 you have to decide , keep and pay maintenance or sell on !

The Lexus marketing personnel have confidence that it will sell well within Europe so you would expect that is based on well researched information within market trends and not just a best guess. New cars within a brand have quite a high cost for development, especially if using unique parts. Although it has simalarities to Yaris cross same engine tweaked along with drivetrain it looks as though it is quite unique with bodyparts / interior etc. Would be interesting to know how many millions have been spent in development.   6. Yes, they are relocating out of Aston Martin and moving to Scotswood road.(Newcastle)..it's the same road where a number of other dealers reside. I always found their present location quite favourable and easy to get to (travelling from south of the water through the tunnel). The new location for me will be via A1 and redheugh bridge both of which can be busy in peak travelling hours. I have a choice between Newcastle and Teeside, once upon a time they were separate entities but both now fall under the Stoneacre brand along with the other North east Toyota dealers. The plus points with both are you are can still find yourself dealing with the same people (post acquisition), and businesses are all about the people irrespective of the corporate entity. Was going to add your quick to find out as I haven't had the text although was in their a month ago and they told me on the planned move.
  7. It was mentioned by some that Dunlop run flats were quieter than Bridgestones. It would be good to get an update to see if any tests/resolution to this issue is sorted.
  8. Do you have details of what the Recommended Retail Price was at the time of purchase or MRRP Manufacturer’s Recommended Retail Price as it's sometimes known. The VED rates are based on that and not the price you paid so the additional rate runs for 5 years after year one if it was above 40000 There,s a few been caught out even from price increases prior to delivery I believe. This should have been explained by the dealer however they seem to focus on a sale rather than any ancillary things that cost you on top of the purchase (insurance/tax) The additional rates are a bit of a hit which I don't agree on as the same car with less spec still chucking out the same emissions using the same roads....so you have to wonder at times ...why!
  9. This is a huge subject in itself. You would need to understand if you are experiencing this on various road surfaces or if it just particular roads you are using. No doubt it will also differ as to what part of the country you are in as the difference in roads is night and day across the country. If you think noise is being compounded by run flats then the only test would be to replace all tyres with a sub 70db standard tyre. (Likely from Michelin/continental) With the softer compound it's going to improve it, but again will vary on road surface. Assume you don't think you have a fault with the car and it's only the tyres. Is it a MY2023 It will be interesting to see what the dealer comes up with on this . The following is from national highways in relation to noise and road surface. Road surface On high speed roads, most noise comes from vehicle tyres on the road surface. Changing to low-noise road surfaces can make a big difference to the noise level. Over recent years we've installed low-noise surfaces as standard on new roads and on existing roads when they need resurfacing. We use Designated Funds for resurfacing in areas which have high noise levels
  10. Mine was done by dealer on the back end of the issues reported with self change. I took the view that they do it and if they break something they will fix it. I had also had heard that a permanent parallel supply was also beneficial which ensured no reset of settings/ car having to relearn things. My dealer did the change for me at the cost of the battery only which I was very happy with so around 180.00, Likely on the basis that for not charging 0.5/1 HR of labour that you will go back again if needed. It's sometimes those little things that matter and sets them aside from the likes of BMW/Mercedes who love to charge for every minute of time. No issues after the battery was done, the tech did point out though that a lot of the smaller auxiliary batteries on some models, including CT/IS didn't do well through COVID/lack of use etc and had degraded beyond charging repair giving an instability to the battery

Gone are the days when a dealer was looking to make 4000 total on a used car sale (2000 on the car your buying and 2000 on yours) Its not only Lexus but with used car prices being still high there,s a lot of greeditis going on (with everything) So a 30000 used car on the forecourt, drive it away and a month later your looking at a 6000 hit. They'd give you 24000 a month later...then guess what...back on the fourcourt for a smidge under the 30000 and resold.... The devaluation graph angle instead of being a steady slope seems to be fall of a cliff then a steady slope but starts after 12 month of ownership. It's a funny old market, used cars still on demand.... The 'real trick' is to blank out your mind of anything to do with equity and cars... A stat from someone I know in the business seems to suggest that a high percentage of cars in the market are being acquired on lease schemes and are purely seen as a 'rented piece of equipment' instead of any sort of owned asset.
  12. As far as I know the introduction of android auto/ apple car play was standard on vehicles 2020 onwards. They did however introduce a media upgrade ( via the dealer ) for vehicles manufactured in 2019.   13. Is there much difference in the drive of the std UX250H with 18" wheels over a UX250H FSPORT with 18" wheels. I can see the new model MY2023 fsport has AVS as standard but looking to gauge any difference with a non AVS FSPORT MY2020 onwards. Assume the FSPORT seats are firmer. Any differences in ground clearances / suspension setup etc? along with a preference if anyone has driven both.

  15. If you didn't have it switched on its very cool when you do. The analogue clock rapidly adds +1 in quick automatic rotation and the digital clock notches on an hour.
  16. Think most alloys start looking that they need refurbing at 5 years old. Key is, once they are done, wash the car yourself from that point on and don't use any brake dust remover sprays (used by a lot of the quick car wash boys) as they can be corrosive in nature, that causes flaking etc. You can also buy spray that protects them from general road grime/ salt. Not sure how good that stuff is or just a gimmick.
  17. Nice to have good news at annual inspection time. Great cars when they come to MOTs...like anything do need to be maintained though. Out of curiosity, what's the yellow ramps in the picture used for.
  18. The road tax per year would be £155 per year but this would not apply till the car was 6 years old. The additional road tax per year (till the car reaches 6 years old) would be an additional £355 per year, so £510 per year to tax it. You have to be mindful of this on top of other costs, especially if your mindset is around costs to own/run. Have you had an insurance quote on it? I think the UXs are cheaper to insure than other Lexus models and you may find it cheaper to insure than your prius. They are comfortable cars, in fact I've seen posts where claims are that they are the most comfortable of the cars in the entire lexus fleet with an ability to soak up bumps and poor roads without been thrown around in the cabin. They do have lexus generation 4 hybrid technology which should be as efficient as it gets. Not sure of the difference in kerb weight between the E4 and std, but know with roughly a 1600kg kerb weight mated to the 2.0 engine it is a well balanced machine, size/weight/power. What is your average mpg in the Prius?
  19. Great car, I'm sure you'll be happy with Lexus and coming from diesel to hybrid. Did you test drive before taking the plunge? Roof box, I can highly recommend the Thule Touring M https://www.thule.com/en-nz/cargo-carrier/car-top-carrier/thule-touring-m-_-634200 Its light, can be put on by 1 person. It opens at each side so dual hinged It also had rapid clamps 4) 2 per side that are so simple to fix to your crossbars. Essentially means you can fit it on in minutes and also remove in minutes, which can help even if your away by removing it/storing it so your not having to drive around with roofbox all the time. For the UX, it looks like you can get either genuine Lexus roofbars or Thule probably do them also, suspect both of these fit straight onto the UX,s roof rails. Hopefully another member with a UX may be able to advise which bars are best
  20. Had the use of an NX300H for a couple of weeks that was considering purchasing. Great driving position/specification but had noticed that the general fuel economy / most I could achieve was an average of 34mpg on a run and generally round the doors 32mpg. I felt this was quite poor and more or less put it down to the size of the car/kerb weight and that although framed as a hybrid it struggled to be in EV mode very much at all. Is this normal for the NX? Decision not to purchase was an easy decision as after a final test re-fuelling and a computer reset then a run down the motorway over 70 mile distance it returned the worst I had seen I wondered if the high winds we have been getting that this was down to adverse conditions and had spent the full duration of driving into a head wind to get such a poor average (27.6mpg) What I had encountered with the economy seems a distance away from lexus figures, are these normal for the NX?

  22. A nice new NX for someone who can avoid the waiting list. A lot of folks driving patterns have changed post COVID and a lot of cars sitting on folks drives not getting much use. Scary bit is where you equate cost to use to miles etc. It will be Interesting to see how long it takes you to sell it. You should be able to get a good choice on a nearly new RAV4

If a drop link has movement it's normally the sign of a worn bush/rubber that's in it.....normally causes a clunk noise...what sort of mileage have you got on the car, wouldn't expect these to go till about 70k miles minimum, that said state of UK roads in certain places is shocking...speed bumps don't help either..you can sometimes simulate it by getting someone to push up and down on the car from the outside while your in it, I say this on cars that are light but not sure on a lexus as they are heavy/well built cars.....on the positive side they are not that expensive either so shouldn't bust the bank on replacements
  24. How quickly was the "wear" developing on your tyres (sounds like after only a few thousand miles) and what was the tyre brand? Interesting on the harder compound N'Fera, do you think this will sacrifice any comfort? I have used these tyres and checking records they were all at about 5.7mm after 10k miles with no issues as you have encountered so if that is anything to go by then they should work well for you. Have you noticed any change in comfort/ride quality or is it not noticeable
