  1. Really gutted to hear about this. Without sounding too negative there's a few thousand in damage there, if an insurance company do it anyway. They won't cat C the car though, the ISF is worth a bit. Up to yourself but to repair right your bill might well exceed your excess value. I got a Badger in the summer, it cracked the bumper and inner wing cover and by the end of the claim the bill was £2.4k Marcus
  2. £4k is a lot for what you get. I'd either but 2nd hand or spend the £4k on headers, exhaust, remap. I have no issues getting the back end out in mine, if your going sideways in an ISF in the dry then your going mental quick. Marcus
  3. My 2009 ISF came with DAB as a dealer fitted option, one of those DAB tuner boxes. Works really well. You can easily fit DAB to the car, wouldn't make it a deal breaker personally Marcus
  4. As a regular user of lightroom, I couldn't agree more!! If it looked like that, I'd definatly buy it. (And I do own a red one!!)
  5. The ISF is identical to standard IS, only difference is the 'F' in the boot badge. It even shares the same the type of fuel as the IS220!!!! Lexus shouldn't of been so lazy Marcus P.s. welcome to the forum, I don't think all the range have heated and folding mirrors so if you don't get an ISF set them be careful
  6. It is a rather fetching colour, though I'm not a fan of the interior with it. Looks a little too "Alan Partridge" for me. Reminds me of a Rover!! Marcus P.s. Got your PM big Rat, watch this space!!!
  7. It would be brilliant having one of these, particularly if you were a seat in the Swedish volleyball team's mini bus!! Marcus #metoo
  8. I was thinking more about MOT time. If a filter in the exhaust is causing a power drop then should be easy to reverse mechanically. Wonder about a remap though. If fitting an aftermarket exhaust removes it and you can't remap the ECU then that's a bit of a worry for new owners wanting an exhaust. Marcus
  9. Mark is right though, it's the wrong direction. NA V8s are dead me thinks!! Wonder what would happen once we leave Europe though, would be cars still need to be compliant?
  10. When I first saw that picture I thought that there was an African bloke just out of shot. I looked at it and though "there's no way the mods have let porn on here!!"
  11. Good little write up, looks good in white too! R32 GTR had them knobs long before the LFA but they controlled lights and stuff if I remember. Did you get any attention in the car? Did you miss the GSF whilst you were away?
  12. Agreed, a car is to be enjoyed and modern cars can deal with the salt and grime on the roads fine. My car is a daily driver and never get any bother with it. I'm 31 and rarely get any attention in it, even with muffler delete. Car park dings and stuff can easily happen in the summer too so just live a little. Is this the first big powerful car your have had??
  13. I'm slightly biased but genuinely think if any do, it will be the ISF. It may not of been a game changer for the industry but certainly was for Lexus. Previous to the ISF there was nothing. Could the RCF and GSF ever have existed without the ISF that went first?? I bought a fresh import R32 GTR 3yrs ago for £10k, had it a year and sold it. Due to the American import market, try getting one for £10k now!! It's all a big if however. I still worry about the F brand. Lexus just don't push it like they could. There's still a real chance Lexus might one day kill the brand. As we live in a consumer society, classics only become classics because there is a genuine appreciation for that particular car and a want to purchase it Look at it this way, in my eyes a classic is a car that you look at and think "I wish I had one of those" or "I wish I never sold that". I have never heard of a story of someone that has bought an ISF and not fallen in love with it. Even to you guys that have moved away from the ISF to a GSF/RCF, I bet the ISF will always be special to you and have that little something you can't replace!! I regularly think about my 1st, problem is I married her!!! Marcus
  14. I don't know the specifics of the ISF conversions but generally I would think you would have more heat issues compared to a supercharger due to increases in boost temps and because it's driven by exhaust gases. Turbos generally need oil/coolant supply also and they will add heat to the respective systems. With regard to a blow off valve, you will either need a dump valve to atmosphere or a recirculating type but without either then compressor stall can occur when coming off throttle. This increases wear on the turbo. Superchargers tend to run lower boost that turbo set ups so may be a little more gentle. Similarly, the install can be a little less complicated to complete. Running higher boost tends to need a change of compression and block work which isn't needed for the supercharged route initially. We all know you can get 600bhp+ from supercharger set up so can't see you needing much more than that. Added to the fact it's proven reliable then your can't go wrong. The 420bhp the car already has is more than enough for me where I live, any more is a waste. A guy I that lives near me had a C63 with around 500bhp and he can't catch me on the back roads as he just wheel spins. All just my opinion obviously but I bet you bust the car somehow if you try to turbo. Marcus
  15. Nope definatly depends who it is, we submariners are known for being dirty, horrible people. I was always told if your fist won't fit in it then it's too small (I'm taking about exhausts by the way!!)
  16. If be embarrassed if someone was fingering my hole too!! Depends who it was actually. Lol
  17. I'll have you know that they are 100% real fake exhaust tips!! I used to have and IS-D.... Went to the GU clinic to get rid of it though
  18. Luckily, the whole IS range is practically identical so they could be retro fitted into an ISF!
  19. I'm also with Adrian flux and they have been brilliant, cheapest around too. Dunno how the algorithms used to calculate price work but they are all over the place mind you. Don't give up on them, might just of got the wrong guy on the wrong day. Marcus
