  1. Tried to take my IS250 out today - abysmal in the snow, I got stuck right outside the drive in slush. The snow button did nothing. Fortunately my wife has an X-Trail so I'll be using that for my work trip tomorrow. Ill be on the lookout for a winter set for next year.
  2. Hughes mileage one on Autotrader is at 121,000 miles https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201709299796432?minimum-mileage=100000&advertising-location=at_cars&year-from=2013&postcode=dy82hg&model=IS 300&page=1&radius=200&make=LEXUS&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=New
  3. I'll await my 3 points and fine in the post with baited breath.
  4. 1 minute time of research has found this is legitimate: https://www.derbyprestigecars.co.uk/used-cars/search-results?make=LEXUS&model=IS+250&vehicleType=cars They have 50+ cars in stock including high end vehicles. I'd suggest this is a trade in they want to shift rather quickly.
  5. It's a dedicated tablet, not my iPhone - I wouldn't want all my alerts coming though plus no Apple product fits in that gap as neatly as the Galaxy Tab.
  6. Yes. I bought it in January this year from Lexus. It was 3 years old with 15k miles. I looked at the service record and noticed that it had only covered a few hundred miles in year 3, the owner was working abroad and never used it. I had a few issues with the battery and reported it to Lexus and got fobbed off, saying they had tested it but no issues. It let me down a third time and I gave them hell, new battery fitted the following day free of charge by Lexus Wolverhampton. leaving a battery standing for a year uncharged is more than likely the cause. Not had any issues with the car although I have several years Lexus warranty on it.l just in case.
  7. I had a new battery fitted by Lexus Wolverhampton for my 4 year old IS250. Its a Toyota battery: 28800-YZZJC Seems to be this one, not sure if it's the best but it's OEM. http://www.roughtrax4x4.com/genuine-toyota-single-battery-setup-fits-to-passenger-side.html
  8. I have the professional Nav and I find it dreadful, it's ETA is always off and it has let me down several times by routing me through roads I know are incorrect, to the point where it once reversed my route back to my starting point after a stop on my way back from a work trip. i now use an Android tablet running Waze, it fits snugly where the screen is. I have found every function via the screen is available in the display/controls on the steering/speedo display so it is no inconvenience apart from blocking the display when the rear view camera is displayed. Each to their own but this solution works for me.
  9. I have a 14 plate IS250 which was serviced at 25k, they treated it as a full 40k service / 4 year job. £485.
  10. Excellent idea 👍 there is one locally Injust checked online, problem solved. Thank you :)
  11. My (to be) 4 year old IS250 is due an MOT shortly, it still has 2 years Lexus warranty. Getting the car to Lexus is a bit of a pain but I was wondering what my best option is. There's a local garage I could use. not had a car needing an MOT for the past 11 years so any advice/experiences would be appreciated.
  12. I used reached 64mph on the clock which is where my GPS says 60mph.
  13. Interesting - time it 0-60 with a stop watch and I'll time mine next time I'm out. I don't think mine would beat an ST.
  14. Who said it was a concern, just an interest, hence the point of forums and sharing experiences and information.
  15. I drove from Inverness to Birmingham this week - 450 miles covered on a single tank in my IS250. impressed with the car, achieved around 38mpg average. What range are you guys getting out of a full tank?
  16. In my opinion anyone who considers a third party warranty is off their rocker - Lexus warranty all the way! Mine is warrantied up to 6 years old - then I'll take my chances and my indie can start servicing it.
  17. Appreciate your comments but look at the state of that oil at 102k above - it needs changing before 100k. Also I recommended waiting until 50k not doing it at the current 28k miles. A complete replacement every 50k still sounds like the best way forward to me.
  18. Interesting, shame this isn't part of the Lexus service regime. My Gen 3 IS250 has only covered 28k, I'm tempted to get this drained and replaced every 50k miles - any thoughts? is an Indie ok to do this or is it highly specialised?
  19. Are you looking under the armrest below the USBs
  20. I'm pretty sure my firmware update has reverted back to stock following a battery replacement 😳🤡😵
  21. I'm glad I asked! Thanks everyone 😊🙃😊
  22. I only ever use Shell, usually go for the Standard but every 5k I'll treat it to a tank of Premium/V Power. Can't say I notice much difference in MPG, smoothness or power but I figure it can't hurt.
