  1. Might be worth having all 4 wheels off and doing a through brake ‘service’ ie cleaning all pins and contact points and have a good check of everything else in each corner, it can only be beneficial👍
  2. Pretty rare for a HG to go on a 250, a 220 now you’re talking! ”P.S. Just make sure you actually have blown head gasket, it would be kind of waste otherwise. Head gaskets don't blow on these cars often and this must be 2nd case in over 8 years.” Linas.P so back down to 1 case then😀
  3. So……you don’t like 250 then?😂 but how you getting on with its big brother? 250 is plenty car for me here in UK where you get Hung, Drawn & Quartered for doing more than 10% over speed limit ( well robbed of £££££’s ) where in the world are you ( dking22) to be able to use you car to its full extent?
  4. Oh Ok, my bad🙄, thought it was a new one, only posted up 3 days ago, but obviously others are a bit quicker than me ( no surprise there then!) standing by to see the final outcome but not holding my breath for a easy/cheap fix😳
  5. Have you done a ‘search’ on this forum for key words of your symptoms? Cause you sure ain’t the first ( or will be the last ) to have a defective 220 engine🙄
  6. Have you read my Mates Maserati experience here? Bargepole comes to mind😂
  7. Can’t see that it done many ‘runs’ in the last tank fills and as it’s on a forecourt lots of idling to get it warmed up just before prospective buyer turns up🙄or lots of short ‘blats’ locally to show it off ( like it needs it!) so yes prob the worst mpg figures you are likely to get👍
  8. Just been surfing the (8) ISF’s currently on AT and came across this in one of the ad pics, not exactly good for a selling point at the moment but you should know what you are letting yourself in for. Lots of grinning in those 109 mi I bet😂😂 ‘range 109 Mi’ with just under 1/2 tank 😳😂😂
  9. Be careful you don’t end up turning your 200 into a 220😳
  10. ‘Uses more fuel’, we’ll you don’t get something for nothing and prob be cheaper in the long run if you gotta buy/fit a new compressor🙄
  11. My son has a 335i coupe (E92) and with the RF tyres it’s a harsh ride if you daily it! Too harsh for me at my age😂but if you were to push it I expect it will easily out handle the IS,
  12. That bush has deffo seen better days! But doesn’t account for the metal-on-metal sound if you ask me!
  13. Unless the part No’s are the same then it prob won’t be straight forward fit, but clever people can do clever things and make it look like OEM if you find them and pay them handsomely! 👍
  14. You not aware then that this is possibly the Most troublesome and most difficult to diagnose/fix Lexus yet? Even dealers fail to get this car running as it should, no matter how much money/parts you throw at it!
  15. Happy days….good for another 80-120,000 miles then ( Water pump at least😂)
  16. Anything advised on last MOT regarding running gear? If it was anything obvious/serious then I would like to think mechanic should have spotted/found it when it was up in the air! But we all know there are mechanics and there are Mechanics🙄
  17. There must be thousands of electrical connections within this car (especially a SE-L🙄) and All of them are pretty much essential, so if one fails ( even intermittently ) then some device or function is not going to work as it should. The likelyhood is going to increase with time and use so we should all have our fingers crossed and be thankful ( unlike me) we don’t own/maintain a Fiat 500 for instance😂😂😂
  18. So…….how did Sunday go? ( Ad no longer available!)
  19. 👍 water pump can be got for about £125 I reckon and here’s how to do it!!!! will need new coolant ( probably) but you do not have to disturb AC system👍
  20. Deffo sounds like a pulley (bearing) in the aux system, which one should be apparent after belt is removed, or ( at your own risk) you could improvise with a screwdriver stethoscope and check each driven unit, water pump, idler, AC etc. So…..did you ever get to what was the source of your rattling noise you reported back in Dec 2021, https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/131180-grinding-noise-under-the-car-please-help/#comment-1212692 or is this the same issue and this is how it sounds today as you never reported an outcome back then?
  21. Were those alloys known as ‘G-spider’ iirc? scrub that!!! No they are different wheels🙄
  22. If this helps it’s from the description in an eBay ad for rear pins kit Item description from the sellerItem description from the seller Important - Some early models, 2005 & 2006 use an alternate bottom pin with a M9x1mm thread - bottom pin in this kit has M12x1.25mm threads 2x Rear brake caliper guide pin / slider pin kits High tensile pins / bolts Suitable for models shown in vehicle compatibility Kit contains parts for two brake calipers Includes a free sachet of assembly grease / paste Frentech guide pin kits are manufactured to specifications consistent with original equipment.
  23. Is a known issue whereby the lifter oil drains downs and at start up it takes time to refill, there was a US TSB but I don’t think it happened here🙄 I can only foresee a problem if it ( the loud ticking noise) persists for more than a second or two or if it happens at Every start up regardless of soak time.
