  1. Hello there fellow IS owners. I'm having some strange problems with my car High beams live a life on their own. They will turn themselves on with random interval and likewise turn themselves off with random interval. When they are on, flashing high-beams doesn't work to turn them off. Flipping the lights off and on again works half the time One parking light + dash light stays on when light switch is in off position and ignition is off. It can be turned off by repeatedly switching between auto and off. Battery is being drained over night Fuel gauge reads empty occasionally I'm guessing some water leakage is responsible for this damage. I checked the footwell fuseblocks and they seem pretty dry. Any ideas where to check and where the problem could be located? Thanks!
  2. The reason why I'm interested in the poly bushings is because I find these spherical bearings to be a bitch to install. I'm not super keen on doing it again if the Febest bearing is bad. About the sound, both the outer LCA bearing and the swaybar drop link has been making sound when pushing down on the suspension by hand. And the shocks were blown. But non of that helped so far. It's only making sound on small, sharp bumps. It sounds almost as if the shock rod is loose, but i know it isn't. It doesn't make any sound from turning hard or from accelerating. So I don't think it's any of the small arms. Possibly the toe arm in that case.
  3. Ah yes i forgot to mention the problem stays on the left when I switch the bulbs around. It could be the holder. I have to check. Thanks.
  4. Have anyone tried polyurethane bushings in the rear LCA? https://rankoneperformance.com/collections/lexus/products/lexus-is200-is300-altezza-rear-knuckle-poly-bush Is it worth it? I've replaced mine with Febest but the suspension is still knocking. I've also replaced the shocks and swaybar drop links. All of which I thought would cause the sound. But it's still there. So I figured maybe the Febest one was just trash? So again, anyone have any experience with these poly bushings? Thanks.
  5. So I recently did an attempt at the "skyline" brake light mod where the rear fog lights are converted into brake lights. So I got myself an extra pair of brake light bulb holders for the fog lights, and then I soldered them in, in parallel with the normal brake lights. Kinda like this: The problem is that on the left side. The fog-brakelight stops working after 1 second. The fog-taillight keeps working, and the normal brake light keeps working. So it's not a short, it's not a bad ground, it's also not a burnt bulb. Which leaves me scratching my head, what the heck could it be? Could it be something strange like too much current because the ground is too good? Or is it just a bad wire? If anyone has any tips on what it could be it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  6. Well the knock can be any part in the suspension. Just because it wasn't the balljoint for one person doesn't mean it's not the case for you. Edit: When I think about it it makes more sense that the knock would come from something that is under load. Like lower balljoint, struts, lower control arm bushings.
  7. No, the whole point of the RCA is to lower the car a bit without affecting the LCA and tie rod angle. You'll be fine. Go for it. It's probably the best way to drop the front an inch in terms of suspension geometry. It might increase your toe-in/negative camber every so slightly so you should maybe get an alingment afterwards. The quick steer i don't really know anything about tho.
  8. So basically I'm wondering if the fuel pressure regulator with return line is necessary at low boost. And how much can you boost before it becomes necessary? I've seen supercharger builds with seemingly stock fuel delivery. Anyone has any experiences on not running the FPR? I'm planning on running the typical 0.5bar.
  9. Not sure. I heard it from monkylondon on youtube
  10. Yea I just got out from the mental institution :D And no one is gonna wanna post their duggets after all this drama lol
  11. That's not the reaction I had expected lol. From my point of view it's just a harmless little slide in the rain. I was well within the speed limits and my brakes are still operational. I don't see a problem really. The only way I could see this go wrong is if the other cars ignore my right of way and cut me off. That said I usually pick low traffic times and situations.
  12. So today I went out to record some roundabout action and I thought it would make for a cool thread! Post your burnouts, slides, drifts, diffins whatever with your IS200 / IS300 here! Here's mine: Completely stock engine and open diff :) I have an LSD but i haven't installed it yet.
  13. That's awesome! I have a weird question now. Does anyone know if chaser GX100 vvti have the same ECU as IS200? The engine looks almost identical with the exception of analog throttlebody. It would be awesome if the IS ecu could support it.
  14. Try to find another i6 with same displacement and compression and with coil packs. Should work right? But you probably need to ditch the ETCSi throttle body first.
  15. they basically sit like this: They move the lower control arm further down for better steering/suspension geometry (no bump steer and stuff), and increase the camber by pushing the bottom out. They are listed for GS300 but I'm fairly sure they will fit lol. Because the balljoint and spindle are the same between the two cars. Oo what'd you have in mind? I'd love to somehow get rid of the ETCSi system. I don't know of anyone who did it successfully yet tho.
  16. Camber boiz incoming! Can't wait to install these badboys
  17. I thought it said "no compression" first lmao
  18. Manifold for 350 pounds? Have I missed something? Give me a link to dis.
  19. Alright I found some parts diagrams. Looks like the spindle and lower balljoint/knuckle is in fact the same on IS200 and GS300 43211/43212 for the spindles and 43330K/43340A for the balljoints/knuckles. I might make myself the lab rat for this lol
  20. Weird question, I know. So I wanna get roll center adjusters for the IS200, but I want to get some nego camber in the process. There are rollcenters adjusters for the GS300 which essentially do exactly what I want. (Image) It states however that it's specifically designed for GS300, but honestly I can't see much difference between the GS300 and IS200 knuckles. There is a risk of course that the holes are spaced differently. I don't expect anyone to know this but I'm just throwing this out there just in case! Cheers Essentially what I'm asking is: Is the GS300 front lower balljoint / steering knuckle interchangeable with is200/300? Alternatively, anyone know of a reasonably priced (under 150 pounds) RCA with camber increase?
  21. Not done today, but recently. Fitted my front new front wheels :)
  22. That's odd. The IS200 usually throws an EML at the slightest touch of the motor.
  23. A few days ago I installed a Cusco spin turn knob / drift button. And I wrote a little guide on how to do it over in the tutorial section! And I also tried out my new suction cup action cam mount. It works REALLY good and I can place the camera in pretty much any angle I want anywhere on the car. Sadly the built in microphone in this action cam is TRASH so I've ordered a cheap go pro micro usb mic which I'm hoping is compatible!
  24. I don't think such a gadget would solve any of my problems and gadgets isn't for me unfortunately. I think it makes the interior look bloated. I rather just spend the money on a new stereo then. Thanks for your input though! I think I've narrowed down the problem to heat. On cold days it works fine for a while and it starts getting choppy after a certain time. On hot days it's choppy of the get go. Probably the stereo ready for the bin?
