  1. no idea but I'd like to know - I've got 2012 maps and I've spent many times driving through fields on the sat nav that are now roads! I was under the impression earlier cars can be done from a DVD and later ones are dealership only?
  2. Just had a look at the following video in youtube for a 2014 car: 18.30mins in or thereabouts he runs through the nav system and although it looks like ours in terms of buttons etc the software is different to the one im using. This car also doesnt have the buttons along the bottom and I reckon might be the same version as the original image I found with the split screen. Wonder if we are operating on old software?
  3. Yeah the description by jgtcracer is also different to my satnav. Here's mine...2013 car with the single tachometer in the middle of the dash. I'm aware the 2008 cars have a different lighter coloured grey system but I thought the later ones had the black coloured system like mine that worked in the same way. Clearly not. I can split the map screen into 2 maps (not sure why you would actually want that) but I cant get the radio station on the other side. Wouldn't mind having the sat nav running with DAB or radio details displayed at same time but maybe my 2013 system isn't recent enough?
  4. Actually Mark you're right. Although it looks like an identical version I actually don't have the home button on mine that this has in the top left...so it's clearly a different system. Even though the car is the same year supposedly. That clears that one up then! Strange how the same year cars have different systems.
  5. Hi all, I have a 2013 ISF and was out of habit having a browse of Autotrader. I cam across this image of an ISF similar year to mine with a spit screen - nav on one side, radio station on the other. I'm assuming it must have the same nav system. I've had a play with my system but cant seem to figure it out - anyone any ideas? Sorry if this is obvious.
  6. Thanks Rayaans - mine does look like this..maybe its my monitor but this doesn't look white like the white of this box i'm typing in or the white of a sheet of paper....but I guess Alpine white isn't. For me...again could be my eyes...but there is a hint of cream on the go. I've cleaned the leather too - mainly how I spotted the repair as it stood out like a sore thumb and was a mile off the headrest colours and surrounding leather. I think the whiteness of this repair really made the rest of it look a creamy colour in comparison.
  7. Can anyone with Alpine white leather confirm that the leather isnt exactly white but had a hint of cream in it? Just bought the car and I've noticed a side upper bolster repair on one of the back seats that is a million miles away from the colour of the rest of the leather. The repair is what I would consider to be 'Alpine white' whereas the rest of the car has a hint of cream in the leather...probably not my idea of Alpine white. I'm wondering whether this is just a bad repair or whether the rest of the car has somehow aged (its a 2013). I'd take a picture on the phone but I don't think that will truly reflect the colour of the seats. I bought the car without having reference to another car nearby with Alpine leather so couldn't really compare unless I was prepared to travel hundreds of miles away. If anyone could assist I'd be grateful.
  8. Here she is...I've not had a second yet to do any cleaning inside or out and I cant wait to do so. Bit frustrated at this moment though as I've spotted a seat repair that I missed on viewing on the passenger side. Looks like some type of spray has been used as I've spotted over spray on the dash and a few other areas that I assumed was dust. Cant see why else there would be small white specks on the dash. Ah well, bit of elbow grease and I'm sure I can have it looking paint free. The textured dash is bound to make it even harder too. Thanks for the audio suggestions.
  9. So far I've found the sat nav on my 2013 car better than the BMW version I had updated. The Lexus takes full postcodes whereas the BMW only did once I updated it and even then it would struggle finding some destinations. I actually prefer the Lexus sat nav - the traffic updates and mapping display I much prefer. I had the Harman Kardon setup in my BMW and I think the Mark Levinson has the edge too although occasionally it sounds a bit tinny when the source is of low quality. Plus I've not got DAB which was an optional extra with the BMW. Styling wise, even though I had a 2010 BMW, I think the styling was a little more current that the ISF - inside for certain. The controls, switchgear etc are also a notch above in the BMW I felt. I do feel like i'm sat in a bit of an outdated car with the ISF - much like I was when I had a 2008 Honda S2000 that first hit the showrooms in 19999 and didn't really change. But I actually love the feel of the ISF in the cabin as it seems so well built and quality. Performance wise, the M3 had lots of settings that you could tweak from suspension to response of the engine to gear changing frequency - I could tailor the sport button (or M button) with lots of settings. As far as I can tell, I don't have any way of tailoring the sport button on the Lexus? In Drive mode in the BMW with the 'sport' setting it would pickup so much better when you planted your foot down - noticeably more than the ISF at motorway speeds although similar when lower down. Although the M3 had a great sound - the Lexus above the 4k rev range makes a great noise - better than the M3 and that was some sound - but both are very aggressive. Handling wise (not that I've been on a track) it all seems very similar and so does the comfort. I know my version has a diffferent suspension setup but it's no different to driving the M3 on its middle setting and probably more forgiving than the M3 in true M mode. Overall, I'd take either car to be honest. If the M3 came with a lifetime warranty or a Lexus priced warranty then possibly that would get my vote for more customisation with your drive. But, because it doesn't and because a one year warranty without an excess costs £1500 for a 2010 car then the Lexus is an absolute no brainer - particularly with the current warranty of 900 for 2 years! But yeah, both great cars and have no regrets moving to the ISF....other than the second rate MP3 setup and not being able to customise my drive settings so much.
  10. Hi All, Sold my coupe e92 M3 recently and have just purchased a 2013 Lexus ISF. I needed a 4 door equivalent of the M3 but having spent over 1k on repairs in the last month on it (the dreaded throttle actuators and an ABS sensor) I decided not to even contemplate the saloon version as a replacement. Failing throttle actuators I felt was a bit of a mickey take and poor design from BMW to be using second rate components. So, after lots of reading decided the ISF was the way forward. So far very pleased and I have no regrets...looking forward to not shelling out on unnecessary repairs touch wood! If anything, the ISF seems a little dated in terms of interior design but it reminds me very much of the Honda S2000 I owned in terms of the dated design and engine that erupted once you went past a certain RPM. One little query - can the Lexus Enform software be updated to be a little more current? Can I display album art embedded in my MP3's? My M3 was 2010 and yet the software seems more current and enabled me to display album art etc. Not a major issue, but the mp3 playing from a usb is seriously slow and old fashioned. Thanks a lot
