  1. I managed to shut my one key in the boot after double locking the doors, result was AA could not get in with anything they tried as it was deadlocked. Nice ride home from Seaton in Devon to Stroud in Gloucestershire in a transporter with car on the back. Definitely got my monies worth. So would not worry about someone stealing the car as the AA man said the only way if locked properly is to smash a window which he and i did not want him to do.
  2. I bought the SGS ones ,£75 a pair if i remember correctly . Easy to fit, feel really well made and nice action on the lift. Many conflicting views on the cheap chinese ones. Was going to go that route but changed my mind and bought British quality with guarantee, easy to get sorted should a problem occur.

    Petrol

Found Bike ran a lot smoother on Shell a few years ago. Would need a mortgage at todays prices to fill car up but will bite the bullet and see what happens if i can find it nearby.
  4. Some photos of mine from just after purchase and one a year later, will have to do some more i think
  5. there is a breaker , ACD breakers in Accrington. You can find them with good old Google. Only place in the country that had a radiator header tank for mine , half the price of Lexus. Other option is Lexus Spares Direct ,got my spiral cable from them their charges include vat whereas Cheltenham lexus wanted same price plus vat,

anyone using E5 petrol in their pride and joy ? if so has there been any issues in general running of the engine or change in mpg.
  8. thanks, all done. First time ever from what came out with it😲
  9. how to remove old filter from behind glove box?
  10. slide up or down and pull whole thing out
  11. where is the switch that controls these lights as mine are staying on. Have removed bulbs for now to stop battery drain. 2006 facelift.
  12. I have seen that black one and it is drop dead gorgeous.
  13. had the same problem and was unsure about an American version. In the end put a search out on a site that fed it on to multiple breakers and managed to find the only one in the country it seemed, cost me around £150 from ACD Lexus breakers in Lancashire
  14. the only time i wanted an auto electrician it was £85 per hour. they charged me half an our for looking for a fault on O2 sensor and couldn't find it (needed further investigation apparently). Found it and it fixed myself, broken connection on plug to loom.
  15. mine are staying permanently on, can someone please tell me where the actuator or switch is that turns them on so i can see what has happened.
  16. found the info on Lexus World, it seemed to be quite common. Another thing to check are the reluctor rings on the rear. take out the sensors and check the state of the rings by looking in through where the sensor fits. Make surse they are not worn down, even partly. Can be a bit of a job to replace, had mine done by Rich (lexusman) on lexus world.
  17. had the same ,turned out to be front O2 sensor off side (uk). A broken connection on the plug connecting loom to sensor lead. Have also seen same fault be a faulty sensor.
  18. i think a lot of people just disconnect them. Only an MOT issue on post 2012 vehicles i believe. what did we do before they ever existed🤔.
  19. key definitely opens deadlocked door, at least did on my 2006. locked my keys in the boot after deadloking the doors. had to buy a key from lexus as had no spare, £50 just for a key with no transmitter. opened doors but triggered alarm if i remember correctly.
  20. we have 2 Jacks and put blankets on rear seats, tucked well in then put their beds on top of that. have done it for 3yrs with no damage to seats.
  21. i would be interested in a look at the cover also as i have had occassions when the glare has completely blinded my view of the road
  22. That is extortionate , nearly £300, plus you still need to pay more for electrical diagrams and probably customs charges. Whatever the problem someone somewhere will have had it, these are old cars after all, with the answer posted on youtube.
  23. is the sump plug on facelift 2006 interference fit or am i missing a washer?
  24. Europarts have some good deals now and again, got one from them for my 2006 SC 50% off so £45 with 3yr guarantee. From what i have read the early cars did suffer a drain if not used for quite a while, i believe a back up re chagable battery on security system caused the problem by eventually failing yet still calling for charge from main battery
  25. i remember reading on one of the forums of a back up battery to do with the alarm system buried behind nearside rear seat that corrodes over time and creates this leakage as the main battery is trying to keep it charged
