  1. Thanks John - Didnt want to use "awesome" or "totally radical dude" as I felt that may just be falling into Mr J "Bling Bling" Clarksons trap ie article in the times. Having had the RX for nearly a week, I have not yet found the urge to buy any large gold chains or refer to the dear wife as "me bitch", but I suppose it is early days.
  2. Having "lurked" on the forum for a while I thought I would reveal myself. Previous car BMW X5 3.0 for three years, traded in and just taken delivery (last friday) of a Lexus RX300 SE-L Aleutian Grey and Pembroke Leather with wood pack (looks the absolute dogs knackers) I was very pleased with my X5 but decided to change for a number of reasons, mainly due to "would you like a steering wheel with that sir ?" option list that comes with owning a BMW and the X5 is becoming rather common in my area. Early days so far but the Lexus compares favourably. In fact I would so far say the RX is a better option. The steering on the RX is a little too light and the engine doesnt seem as willing as the 3.0 litre BMW but these are marginal. The handling compensates in ride quality where it fails in "sports" handling. Where the RX beats the Beamer hands down is options. Build quality is on a par if not better. Bought from Lexus Tunbridge Wells, so far service is good (but it would be on sales, better to compare how they respond during service or problems) Got a good deal. managed just over £1000 off plus good PX value so well pleased. Will drive the car a little longer and make a more detailed comparison between X5 and RX300 later. Dont you just love that new car smell ??????
