  1. Not entirely sure about all that but I have a spare amp that I got for my GS300. Never used it in the end but you're welcome to try it for the cost of the postage. Mine was 2001 iirc.
  2. Agreed. I bought one of these recently for the Saab but currently it's in the boot of the LS because there was a bit of condensation in the wheel well. Assuming you don't find a leak it's nothing to worry about. Just builds up through lack of use and the change of weather.
  3. They're not that cheap tbf. Rarity I'd imagine. I bought an extra one off eBay a few moths ago as I don't have a Bluetooth solution I'm happy with in the LS. I got the sleeve, case and CD holder things for £25. Part number is 86273-50050
  4. Shame you're not more local. I've got a couple of seats you could have had.
  5. I ended up getting one of these for a particularly tricky filter. As you know by now it's idiots over tightening.
  6. Could be entirely unrelated but before you go down that road do you leave anything in the car that sends or receives any sort of signal? '05 IS300 is very late but the tech isn't and if I leave my phone in my '97 LS the alarm will be triggered. Phones, sat nav, BT transmitters attached to a permanent live?
  7. Amayama are fine. No problems ordering from them but note that if they show >1 of an item it can mean the part ends up unavailable. I've had that a couple of times. Full refund given of course.
  8. Certainly didn't play a part in my decision to purchase but it does look as if this could be the first car I don't lose money on. Nope. Nothing there as far as I can tell. Exactly the same colour and spec as mine.
  9. At some point I need to replace the rear one. It's tied up at the moment. Some butchery had gone on over the last 24 years and made it throw the warning even though there was nothing wrong with the pads. The fact it's like that does make me itch a little. Reasonably priced from Amayama.
  10. Had an XC90 just like that for 4 years. One of the very last to be brought into the country before the new shape came out. Best go anywhere family car ever! And that built in child seat is a godsend.
  11. A main dealer? Call another one. There's no problem getting spare keys. Try Lexus Parts Direct if you don't know another dealer.
  12. I've used Lexus breakdown a few times (but only once with an actual Lexus) and can confirm the AA are happy to take your car wherever you want.
  13. A friend of mine is working up near Lossiemouth at the moment. He has a few cars to choose from but because of the distance from Shropshire plumped for his MKIV LS400 on CrossClimates. No problems so far and by this weekend he'll have done a thousand miles in a week.
  14. Never quick enough with this! Usually behind some VAG soot monster, they set off, cloud of black smoke, I'm left choking and dithering for where the button is.
  15. Not sure which generation of GS you're referring to Daniel (no "h" in your original post) but something to keep in mind re: the 3rd gen GS300, is the vehicle tax. £565 for anything post '06. 4th generation 300h obviously much lower. And I think all the IS250s are lower apart from the manuals. If I've got that wrong I'm sure someone will correct me. The newest Lexus saloon I've had was 2002.
  16. You asked if the songs would show on the screen and if you could control the player via the screen. That's impossible with a 3.5mm connection. That's what I meant by dumb.
  17. Maybe in the armrest? 3.5mm is a "dumb" connection. It won't do anything other than play the audio.
  18. That's very nice. Keep it stock. The only way the values of these are going is up
  19. Nappy bins are great. At the rate you'll be changing them they're a godsend! By the side of the changer, drop it in, turn the handle, done. Nappy bin. All this lol My dad bought a second hand second stage seat for transporting ours around. And then put a piece of 1" chipboard under it so it didn't mark the seats! I had to ask him what he thought the chipboard might do if he went from 40 to 0mph in a bump.
  20. Totally off topic but if the family expands I can also recommend the built in booster seats in the Volvos, VWs, SEATs etc. Odd to recommend other brands on here but it really does surprise me that more manufacturers don't offer them. There are a million things recommended to new parents to make their lives easier but few are actually any use apart from Isofix Built in boosters nappy bins
  21. Got you. If you have a new born an he/she is your first then trust me, get the Isofix base. You'll thank me the first time it's throwing it down with rain and you're trying to get the seat from the stroller and into the car! Takes seconds and all done with one click. We used it for all three of ours. I do remember something like this now you mention it. We used the feature in the Volvos when we had the next (non-Isofix) stage seats.
